[ on the night of the 28th, the lecture hall will open its gates though it'll look remarkably different. Winn and Cisco would have decorated the corridors leading to it with Jack-o'-lanterns made from the pumpkins gathered at the little patch on the planet. The hall itself will be similarly decorated, along with other traditional scary Halloween decorations made from paper and fabric ( don't ruin the little paper spiders, they took hours to make! ). There will be music from various times of Earth-1 and Earth-3, so don't be surprised to find Lady Gaga playing alongside the Spice Girls! Feel free to make requests or otherwise, just show your skills on the dance floor!

There will be a bar run by Nami offering free sodas, though you'll have to pay for your own alcohol ( remember, don't drink and fly! ). Alongside the bar, characters will find a few tables offering candy from Earth-1 won by Cisco at the game room with a little sign reading TAKE ONE, LEAVE SOME FOR OTHERS and quite a lot of space chips and protein dips as well as various candy from all over the different planets ( cleverly hoarded by Winn! ) and a large selection of pumpkin pies and pumpkin treats. Characters will also find a line leading to Cisco's trusty ice cream machine, though it'll only offer peanut butter flavored sorbet.

At the corner of the hall there will be a karaoke machine with a little sign-up sheet. Characters could sign up solo or in groups and list the song they'd like to sing. Keep in mind though, the entire hall will be able to hear your rendition of Sexy and I Know it!

Adventure-seeking characters will be able to follow signs reading HAUNTED HOUSE and reach a large hall that was turned into a maze by large cardboard blocks painted black or covered by dark fabrics. Making it out of the maze won't be too hard and the maze itself won't be too frightening but will be mildly startling. It'll include some nifty engineered animatronics of witches, scarecrows, scary clowns and skeletons as well as holograms of ghosts! The song featured in the invitation will also be heard here, on repeat. It's a good break from the dancing and for some private conversations and moments.

Remember, costume are mandatory! you don't want to be caught by tonight's pumpkin kings, do you? ]

That said, [ she mitigates, ] music aside, it remains a remarkable celebration. I suppose it's a much safer thing to celebrate Halloween than it is Guy Fawkes Night.

If we try to even work on fireworks on a ship I'm pretty sure Jim would lock us in our rooms forever with a recorded lecture on repeat - and this planet gives me the creeps.

I was thinking more along the lines of a bonfire. [ -- she swerves the idea of fireworks, as well. on the long long list of things peggy is not comfortable copping to, there is included the fact that veteran soldiers and fireworks do not mix well. and she knows a great many soldiers. ] But even then, there aren't really enough Brits knocking about to make it worth the lumber.

That doesn't matter - I'm sure there are plenty of people enjoying this party right now who never even heard of Halloween before. If you want a bonefire - I'll totally be up for it. As long as we don't stray too far from the ships cuz like I said -- creeps - [ not loving this stop one bit. ]

[ she's a little taken aback by how eager he is to match even the most idle, barely-wanted of wishes. peggy chops one hand through the air, as if to dismiss the notion. ]

Heavens, no. I'd rather not have to spend the evening explaining to everyone why we're burning a man made out of straw. [ her smile is wry -- she doesn't truly believe she'd have to do that, or even burn a guy at all. ]

[ it's probably not the last time that'll happen, sorry peggy. he's pretty eager to please, comes with being lonely for most of his life.

he makes a mental note to mention this to steve. maybe surprising her with a bonefire will win him some points - and get her a taste of home without having to deal with other people. and maybe it's a terrible idea - either way he trusts steve to know her well enough to decide on his own. it's his bro-ly duty to pass this idea along. ]

Try 'for fun', it works surprisingly often. [ he shrugs. ]

Ah, yes. Because I will certainly win friends and allies by describing to them how my people like to burn papist effigies for fun. [ her smirk turns impish -- as though, perhaps, there is considerable mischief to be found beneath her polished composure. she's knocked her way around enough other cultures by now to understand how some ways chafe with others. hell, the fleet is a great example of that with nearly every new arrival.

and to truly have a bit of fun with it: ] Catholics, beware.

[ when, of course, the truth is that she doesn't care. not one bit. ]

Hey look, when I first got here, people told me they do laundry for fun. Setting stuff on fire sounds a lot better, just saying -

[ winn has had some culture clashes himself, he still hasn't learned how to avoid crashing and burning though. fortunately, he's cute and eager enough to learn that so far people have been pretty forgiving. ]

Laundry? Good God, [ she balances two loose fists on her hips. ] Should I ever stoop to doing laundry for fun, I should hope to be put out of my misery. Put to pasture.

If I ever claim to be doing laundry for fun - I expect every person within listening rage to recognize that either my augment is messing with me, or I've been replaced by a really lame alternate earth twin.

A glitch, of sorts, that makes one love laundry. [ she smirks. ] Diabolical. Should that happen to you, I promise to promptly knock you over the head and let your ride the rest of it out peacefully unconscious.

I hate that term. [ muttered. for one, it makes it sound accidental which he doesn't believe for half a second. for two, that's his codename ;; he hates seeing it misused. ]

[ he's been training with jim, but even so he's pretty sure he can't knock anyone on the fleet out.

[ his go to if anyone really needs knocking out will still be kara. and if something's up with peggy his first call will be steve. but he'll keep it in mind all the same! ]

[ in the end, it's a hundred percent in jest. she isn't at ease enough in the situation to speak outside of a light, lilting game. it makes for a better shield within the fleet than the brusque and abrasive personality she'd wielded back home. speak like that to people in the fleet, and it only drew more questions. more friendly overtures. ]

Although I doubt we'll ever be under any true threat from dirty socks.

[ he smiles. humor is his shield of choice (you know, when hiding behind a superhero isn't an option), so he's perfectly happy with her choice. he's just also paranoid about the augments. ]
