I’m figuring that at some point I’m going to get an explanation, or one of my guns back, or something. Because I’m not really likely to die of boredom, no matter how long I’m left here.

[And while boredom is a lot better than most of the alternatives, Kai would still rather have some kind of weapon.]

And I can still bite, if it comes to that.

[Kai shows his teeth and it looks like in addition to having pointy ears and purple eyes, he also has fangs.

He lets out a half-sigh after that.]

Seriously though. What is it I’m supposed to be doing here? I can’t see much use for a Stalker.

Still, I mostly got over biting people three decades ago. I'd rather a weapon. If I don't get to see them, it shouldn't do them any harm for me to have mine.

You will find they have taken your weapons from you. If you wish for one, you will have to wait until you are moved to another ship. Perhaps you will have a security officer on board who can help you.

Unfortunately, yes. Luckily, you should be able to find a weapon somewhere- even if it is not one that is familiar to you back home.

You can join in on trying to figure out what Atroma actually want with us, I suppose. There is much wondering on who they are, how they have us, and what their end goal ultimately is.

Weapons are good. I can learn a new one.

I'm not so much good on the wondering front, though. I can think of a few reasons, and I don't like any of them.

If you are fortunate, you will be shuffled onto a ship with a security officer, or you will have the augment yourself. Either way, you will gain access to new weapons.

None of them would be pleasant, no, but that is all we have. Wondering. I have been here for nearly two years and have found very little in way of actual answers.

I wish I could call that reassuring, but on most scales two years isn't long enough to be sure of anything.

Which court are you from?

[It's all shit anyway, but it feels like a polite thing to ask, and the other elfin's been more helpful than Kai expected.]

[What. Fenris stares at the screen for a moment, almost asking what cats have anything to do with it. Then he realises it sounds a lot like the "knife ear" insults thrown to elves in Thedas.]

...Do you mean because I am an elf? Because I assure you, elves have no place in any court in my world.

You have your own courts. I mean, you're obviously Dawn, but which court within that?

[And yes, Kai's going with 'you' and not 'us' because that's just the way things go sometimes.]

No. You misunderstand. I am not from the same place as you. Elves in Thedas would never get within spitting distance of any court, unless they happened to be servants or slaves working there.

...And even then, they would be kept out of sight.

I belong to no court. At all.

Humans. Noble ones, at that.

[He shrugs his shoulders. ]

Dwarves too, but they mostly keep to themselves anyway.

[There are no noble humans. They go in for representative democracy. And there are definitely no dwarves.]

That is a difficult question to answer. I have been away from my home world for a long time, it is hard to judge these days, in all honesty.

It is better for elves here, though. There is a lack of general disgust for our existence.

A number. Only two of us are elves, however.

There is Lark. She's the only other elf from my world. She's recently arrived.

Is it common that there be many from a same world?
