I think it might be time for me to ask for a little bit of advice.

I've been here a while, now, and I'm normally very good at not missing people. I used to give people tips on how to feel better about it, and it used to work for me, too, back when I was in the Drabwurld and there was a war to focus on. I would go and look in the library, but I can't imagine there's much of a help section there - dreadful, honestly - so.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to cheer yourself up, I'd be glad to hear it.

(Also: I have potions for all the ships on the fleet, now. If you'd like a set for your Lab, please let me know and I can bring them over!)

Wit and wisdom?

[ She recognises it and nudges him gently before she settles down, tucking herself against his side and resting her head against his shoulder. Cisco is warm and comfortable and she feels a little better already. ]

Well, sometimes I'll come over and other times, you'll visit me. See all the twinkle lights we're working on in the labs, you'd like them. I've just finished perfecting a few.

[ Huffing a noise, she shakes her head, turning her eyes away for a moment. ]

Are they more impressive than Hogwarts candles?

But it's honest flattering.

[ they're curled together, him and her and everything seems warm and cozy, he almost doesn't want to rise up to tug the ice cream closer. ]

[ he smiles, takes her hand in his ]

[ Hermione wraps her fingers around Cisco's and, finally, relaxes, turning her head to look at him. ]

I'll have to see if I can enchant one sometime.

[ Then she pauses for a moment, eyes flicking down to their hands. ]

... Cisco?

[ he shifts to look at her, thinking she might want to tell him what brought this on or otherwise, how he could help her through this.

they all have their ups and downs here, after all. even radiant, brilliant girls like her are due to having some sadder times.

he simply makes it his duty to cheer her up, banish the sadness away long enough to see her smile a bit. ]

[ Her eyes are a little wider and she watches, for a moment, her cheeks rising up into a flush before she swallows back her nerves. ]

We went to the party together, and you're here and... I just - I was wondering.

[ Her fingers stroke over his and she takes a deep breath. ]

What - if you wanted...

It was tons of fun, you gotta admit.

[ maybe he's stalling, maybe he's as equally nervous as her. he doesn't really reach this stage with girls and this is no ordinary date and no ordinary girl. ]

[ But she shifts a little. ]

I was just wondering if you wanted it to be something... Something. Or if you just wanted it to be fun.

[ there's a frown and he instantly sits up because evidently, if she asks, he wasn't clear enough and if he wasn't clear enough - then hartley was right and he really is a moron. ]

hi - I never wanted just anything. Of course I want - something, something.

[ he shakes his head ]

I'd have to be a inter-galactic idiot not to.

[ Her cheeks are definitely red now and she pauses, glancing up before she leans close. ]

I'd like that too. I want to be something with you... Whatever we decide that would be.

[ his confidence is suffering here, evidently. he had told only one person that he doesn't actually think he's witty, brilliant or awesome enough for her, has never met anyone who is. he looks at her, pushing the nervousness aside. you can do this, Ramon. ]

[ Her nose wrinkles and she huffs a noise. It's not exactly what she wanted to tell him when he came here, and her throat feels a little tight, but - ]

[ he raises a fist. come on, Hermione, bump it. our lives are weird. ]

[ That makes her laugh and she gives him a quick brofist. ]

Does that - I mean. [ Good lord. ] Cisco. Are you going to be my boyfriend? Is that the right word?

I think that's the one word that works, unless witches have a different term for the guy they're dating?

[ super amused. ]

No, no, it's the same. We're not quite that different.

[ Shush. ]

Are you sure? I mean, 'cause I keep hearing all those weird words from you and before more of your friends come question me, I need to know all the semantics -

[ 100% teasing, don't mind him. ]

[ And the best way to shut someone up, she learned, is to kiss them - so that's what she does, leaning over and slotting her mouth over his quickly. ]

[ he is on the verge of a few suggestions, of names and codenames that witches can use when they refer to their genius muggle boyfriends and he has at least a dozen, thank you very much but then, then.

it takes a second for him to compute what's happening but when he does, he leans into it, tugging her closer, just a bit and they kiss and kiss and kiss. ]

well. I had a genius list of suggestion that's now gone, thanks for that.

Are you really complaining?

[ There's a flush on her cheeks, but she's still close, tilted up to look at Cisco properly. She hasn't moved away and if she wanted she could clear the space between them and kiss him again, embarrassment and nerves be damned. ]

Because I can stop.

Complaining? nope. Babbling because I may be a mostly all-capable nerd but still a nerd? yep. It'll pass in three months or three minutes.

[ he isn't sure which but definitely one of the two. ]
