Who: Makie and you
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Windrose
When: After the shuffle
[She came, she saw, she stole a bunch of stuff, she left. Makie isn't surprised by Lilly vanishing so quickly, and in some ways she thinks it's better-- these ships are too stark, too cooped up, for such a free-roaming child. She tells herself that. It's fine. It's fine.
It's not fine.
The broadcast is from Lilly's room, where Lilly's own things have gone-- leaving the leftover mess on the floor, bits of clothing, other stolen belongings. They're taken from across the Fleet, and Makie reaches down to tug a shirt free, folding it neatly. She'll organise this stuff. But she turned on the broadcast for a reason.]
If any of these items belong to you, please tell me. [Her voice sounds hollow to her own ears, and she pauses. Much quieter:] I'll arrange to get them back to you.
[She'll leave the feed on at least long enough for people to look over what's strewn around the floor. And then she'll stay in the room, sorting through the mess mechanically. It gives her something to do.
((if you want a small feral child to have stolen something from you, feel free to have it in the pile. You'll get it back within the day.))]

video;
[Things have been kind of distracting. Anyway.]
What ship are you on? I'll come and help!
video;
I'll look forward to seeing you, Ochako-chan.

[It's hard to gauge this sort of thing over the communicator, so she's hoping her presence won't be too invasive. They're not close or anything, but it's obvious that something's happened what with all of the piles of stuff.
At least she can try to cheer the woman up a bit. So she'll be venturing over in a little while, poking around in rooms until she comes upon the right one.]
Ah, Otono-Tachibana-san! I found you!
[.....holy crap that is a lot of stuff.]
action
Hello. Welcome to Lilly's room. [And then with faint wryness, because that really is a mouthful.] It's all right to call me Makie.
action
[Ochako ventures further in, crouching down near Makie and one of untouched piles. The name isn't familiar to her, but she doesn't know too many people on the other ships yet, so that's not surprising.]
action
[It's just stating a fact now.]
...she likes to scavenge. I suppose at least I can now return people's belongings without upsetting her. Though... I think some of this is just junk. [She's not sure. People collect weird things.]
action
[It's a little dizzying, but she won't be deterred. She came here to help, so she starts poking at the nearest pile, examining the first item to see if it's garbage or not.]
It's good that she got to go home, but... I'm sorry that you'll miss her.
action
[...
...this isn't very welcoming at all, Makie. She smiles.] Thank you, though. For the offer as well as the kind words.
I meant to find you again after the last time we talked to see how you fared. I'm sorry I didn't.
action
[The whole experience was pretty intense, and unwinding took longer than she'd like to admit. During her training and the villain attacks, she'd witnessed some terrible things, but that was more blood and violence than she's used to.]
action
[It wasn't the messiest Makie's ever seen (or caused) but it's hardly a place she felt comfortable letting someone like Ochako see. But the girl can fight. She never had these qualms with Rin, she realises. Then again, Rin jumped in first before anyone else.]
It's not a common occurrence out here on the Fleet. This last stop was the first place in nearly a year that I've felt it necessary to intercede. [Hopefully that helps.]
action
[She's only been here for a handful of months, so it's reassuring at the very least. Even if it's something she needs to adapt to seeing if she wants to be a hero by trade.
Time to put on a brave face. It's over now, so there's little sense in kicking up a fuss again.]
I'm much better now! It really helps to take a step back and, you know, decompress?
action
But moving on from such dreary conversation is a good idea.] So which part of Japan are you from, Ochako-chan? My family was in Edo.
action
[She must be from pretty far back to call it that. Ochako jumps right on the subject change, though.]
I grew up in the Mie area, in Kansai. We kind of moved all over the place.
action
[Taking an old-fashioned guess. IDK what do people do in the mystical future?]
action
Builders, actually! Our family does a lot of construction work.
action
Building is truly valued work. I know architecture has changed greatly since my day. There are really tall buildings in your time, aren't there?
action
Really tall, yeah! Hundreds of meters tall, with floors stacked on floors... thank goodness we have elevators.
action
[Be careful of the rabbit hole, you could be here all day.]
action
action
How much of the technology in this place is familiar to you?
action
action
[She comes from a world where someone is immortal because they're stuffed with worms but look, that's one guy, okay.
...two.
Okay, three.]
action
action
[This is a measuring glance. She didn't really get to see much of anyone else on the slaver raid--]
Do you possess one?
[It feels like a prying question, but if they're pretty normal where Ochako comes from...]
action
Uh-huh. It's called Zero Gravity.
