[After the mystery and isolation of their last destination, the Marsiva seems determined to head to brighter, busier territory. After a long journey through remote, nebula-painted space, speeding along at a brisk pace for the Host ship, the Marsiva brings her Fleet to a sudden and prominent point of traffic.

It seems that the Fleet has happened upon some sort of vacation destination! Maybe Atroma thinks that the passengers deserve some rest and relaxation... or just wants to distract them with something huge and shiny.

Welcome to Hotel Corona! Feel free to enjoy yourselves and enjoy the sites! If a hotel resort isn't your thing, you can head on over to the nearby planet and explore it's icy wonders.

[He doesn't respond, too busy absorb with prodding the poor desk person. Who fortunately for everyone, seems so ready to be done with this guy that she does actually give the info, just to get him to go away. Which that makes him wrinkle his nose since it's not a great rate, but he'll exchange his money and get out line]

[She looks amused even if many others in the line don't.] Happy?

At least I have extra money saved from a couple months ago. [You know, from the whole dragon incident]

Lots of drama for the audience? [She isn't placing the dragon. She'd been wrapped up in fall out from Winn being attacked and taking care of him while he went through the brunt of the trauma. Her normal network stalking had been greatly reduced. Some pretty important things were missed.]

[Allen gives a little shrug. Yeah. There was lots of drama. But it wasn't his drama, so he's less keen to share. So he'll keep it simple.]

Mm. Fought a dragon.

Oh... Everything work out okay? [Because the only thing she really knows about what went down with the dragon is that Wanda died and that was, you know, big.]

[He frowns. Did she really not know?]

...A friend died and I was laid up in the clinic for a month along with several others. But sure, everything worked out okay.

Allen... [She steps out of line, not worried about transferring money as much as the people behind her want to.] I'm sorry. I didn't realize. I was helping a friend through something for awhile. I wasn't really on the network like I usually am.

[She's surprised how few of the people she does speak to regularly ever mentioned it with results like that. She definitely feels like she should have been there to help. But she was only the most vaguely aware of it until she spoke to Wanda and then only really knew how it impacted her and Pietro. She's also known dragons before in the prison so the term isn't something she instantly associates with trouble.]

Please, save it. [He moves to push a lock of his hair behind his ear.] I'm not looking for an apology or a fight. I'm sure you were busy. It's not like any of the other superheroes showed up to help either.

[The truth was, it wasn't something he held personally against Kitty. Not really. Just...all of those superhero types, really. They made big promises, they made big speeches- but they never delivered. They were too caught up in their own problems to actually care about others. He crosses his arms and gives a shrug.]

But...whatever. I'm not a kid anymore. I've learned the hard way long before I met you not to rely on superheroes. At least you've never made some big speech or put on airs.

[Well, that was a reaction she wasn't expecting. She responds after a long pause.]

Allen, I'm no one's hero. [People have used that word for her ever since she got to the prison and it's always made her uncomfortable. She did try to protect people and she failed a lot more than she succeeded. Even when she did she didn't know if they'd make it. Resources were almost nothing. Chances were if the group of Infinites or mutants she stopped didn't get them then the next ones would. Or hunger. Or sickness. Or the elements. And her role on the team was even darker. She spent less time helping people directly and instead killing high-ranking targets to be able to liberate a labor camp or people slated for genetic experimentation. She's more comfortable with "assassin" than "hero" even if she takes no pride in it. No government left besides the reign of Apocalypse. No justice system besides a small band of mutants fighting back against their own kind.]

I'm just a girl with powers doing what I can. We're not so different. [The fact he had powers was one of the reasons she bonded with Allen back in Marina. Not because she doesn't like people without them. She very much loves them. But she didn't know how to accept not being hated from someone like that yet.]

[Maybe he feels a little guilt for her reaction, but at the same time...those are words he's heard again and again through the years. Usually they come after a disaster, or yet another time he failed to get aid. They fall upon his ears and just leave a feeling of bitterness, even if he knows Kitty hasn't done anything really, it was people from his past. People who let his found family die, no matter how many times he would plead for aid. People who would lock up criminals and leave them to rot without a trial, how matter no much their loved ones would beg for actual justice.

"I'm no one's hero. I'm just doing what I can. We're not so different."

How many times have he heard those words? How many times were they meant to clear someone of responsibility of someone's failings? To make him feel bad for them? Even if Kitty doesn't mean it that way...]

Look, I'm sorry. Can we just drop this? I don't want to talk about it.

[She feels hesitant to drop it because she doesn't even really understand what they picked up. She's still confused by him labeling her and then seeming disappointed with "her kind". Who are the other superheroes anyway? Does this have something to do with the time someone told her she was from a comic book? And if he's not including himself then it's not just people with powers? What about Wanda? She died in that attack. She was there. And Kitty feels like she should be defending this group she's apparently in by saying so, but also, Wanda's death and resurrection aren't her story to tell.

Besides, she doesn't want to fight with Allen. There are people she's comfortable fighting with. Enemies. Teammates. And then there are people as important as teammates but without the same sense of security like this Allen. And this topic is directly related to a friend of his who died so pushing it would make her slightly more of a jerk than she is, so she finally nods.]
