[After the mystery and isolation of their last destination, the Marsiva seems determined to head to brighter, busier territory. After a long journey through remote, nebula-painted space, speeding along at a brisk pace for the Host ship, the Marsiva brings her Fleet to a sudden and prominent point of traffic.

It seems that the Fleet has happened upon some sort of vacation destination! Maybe Atroma thinks that the passengers deserve some rest and relaxation... or just wants to distract them with something huge and shiny.

Welcome to Hotel Corona! Feel free to enjoy yourselves and enjoy the sites! If a hotel resort isn't your thing, you can head on over to the nearby planet and explore it's icy wonders.

He knows not everyone has a family that actually cares like he did, whatever their other problems with each other, and it just now dawns on him that maybe Kai wasn't so lucky. He shifts his weight, folding his arms, but doesn't ask. "A picture might be better. Maybe the family crest with some embellishments..."

He trails off, thinking about it.

Family’s just the people who made you, and while that hadn’t been an especially easy thing when it came to Kai’s mix of sidhe and unsidhe blood, it still doesn’t obligate him to them.

“A picture will look better if you gain or lose weight. Skin can be an imprecise canvas. But I didn’t know that humans had family crests.” Doesn’t blood and the genetic tells serve as enough for these people?

Not most. My family does, though. We're technically nobility.

[Not even technically, they are, but it still doesn't feel all that real even after so many years. Mostly because he hates all that noble crap, but it was important to his mother. And it meant they could live in luxury instead of squalor. And the crest of two entwined birds is rather fetching.]

I don't plan on gaining much weight, but you do have a point about that. Definitely a picture then. Maybe with a staff and a sword for my siblings.

What's the significance of the staff?

For my sister. She was a mage too. The one I'm thinking of was Father's before it was hers, though, so it would tie him in too.

[He thinks it rather clever as far as symbolism goes.]
