[After the mystery and isolation of their last destination, the Marsiva seems determined to head to brighter, busier territory. After a long journey through remote, nebula-painted space, speeding along at a brisk pace for the Host ship, the Marsiva brings her Fleet to a sudden and prominent point of traffic.

It seems that the Fleet has happened upon some sort of vacation destination! Maybe Atroma thinks that the passengers deserve some rest and relaxation... or just wants to distract them with something huge and shiny.

Welcome to Hotel Corona! Feel free to enjoy yourselves and enjoy the sites! If a hotel resort isn't your thing, you can head on over to the nearby planet and explore it's icy wonders.

[It's habit; scoping out his surroundings. Getting the lay of the land. Even so, it's a departure from his habits in the last system, where it took him a good few days to dredge up the interest to even go outside. Erik looks away briefly, shrugging his shoulders.]

I wanted to know what was here.

[axiomed]

Any particular reason?

[exothermia]

There were some things I wanted to see if I could buy-- [It had been the last day of Hanukkah, and eventually he had bought the least star-sparkled candles he could find.] and then I just wanted to see it. It's been a long time since I've been in any kind of hotel... much less one like this.

[axiomed]

I think it's a long time for all of us.

[exothermia]

[He smiles faintly.]

Maybe so. [He turns back to look at the sunset image.] Certainly none with this level of technology.

[axiomed]

Hopefully, we'll be here for some time.

[exothermia]

With any luck, we might be.

[axiomed]

[ Charles nods. It felt paradoxical, being here with Erik right now. Strange and yet normal. He's not sure how he feels about it, even when it is a comfort. ]

Then I'll plan my time diligently.

[exothermia]

I'm sure you will.

[Erik lapses into silence for a while, not needing to fill the quiet with talk. It's hard to put a name to how things are now, other than 'better'. Glancing at Charles briefly, he takes in the lines of his face, the bruises left by the shapeshifting attacker. He looks away again, tracing the steam of the water with his gaze instead.]

I thought about taking one of the shuttles to see the nebulas.

[axiomed]

Oh?

[ He follows Erik's gaze before looking away. ]

That sounds nice.

[exothermia]

They mention it five times in the welcome packet. [A bit dry.] So it must be good.

[axiomed]

Or they're desperate.

[ But he doesn't believe that. ]

I'm sure it's a sight, Erik. You'll enjoy yourself.

[exothermia]

I'll keep it in mind for later.

[axiomed]

The enjoyment? I do hope so.

[ He rubs his throat lightly and winces. He had been hoping it was less sore, but not yet. ]

[exothermia]

[Erik watches the movement, tilting his head a bit.]

You should rest your voice.

[axiomed]

I know.

[ He's rueful. ]

I can't avoid talking, I'm afraid.

[exothermia]

You can - if you take a day just to yourself.

[Given the various entertainments on display, no one would think much of someone taking a quiet day in their room.]

And you don't need to strain yourself with me. You can use your telepathy.

[axiomed]

[ Charles glances at Erik before nodding. ]

I don't want to hide. As tempting as it might be.

[exothermia]

You're not. But I understand.

[He'd be loathe to display weakness after something like that. Charles isn't weak; he's anything but. And Erik respects his decision to stay in the open, even following such a blatant attack.

He quirks a smile.]

Though, if you spend time in the museum, that's a space you're expected to be quiet in to begin with.

[axiomed]

[ He laughs, sunlight filtering through his thoughts. ]

There is that. Though I enjoy the discussion that follows.

[exothermia]

[The laugh warms him, though the room couldn't be said to be cold to begin with.]

It's something to consider, anyway.
