[ Video ] Man Overboard
Who: Jim Kirk
Broadcast: Yes
Action: On the Tourist
When: Today/Now
[ When Kirk's image comes on the screen, he isn't his usual, happy, confident self. His face is more serious, seeming withdrawn and there is a tenseness in his jaw, as if he were grinding his teeth. He is silent for several seconds, looking as if he is gathering words, wondering how much to say.
Finally - ]
I had hoped the reality would be different, but there's no denying it anymore.
For those who knew him and cared about him, or even if you didn't I suppose, Remy Lebeau has returned to home. I'm sorry to add to what seems like a stream of bad news.
[ The feed will cut shortly after that because what else is there to be said?
If you come around the Tourist, though, one can find Kirk in the gym, working up a sweat, practicing self-defense or running. He wasn't one to drink when upset - he was one to work until there wasn't enough energy to think anymore. ]

How did that even happen anyways?

Re: video
While I do encourage curiosity, I think this one time I will have to say that's a good thing. Kitties are more lovable when they're alive.

Re: video
Giving you fair warning of my mindset right now, so don't expect that go away.

He's a good man. [No past tense. She doesn't want to think he's dead. She doesn't really know what happens to people when they disappear, but she'll hope it's not that.] I didn't realize how close the two of you were.
Re: video
He's easy to talk to.
[ He took her cue, and not because he thought he might be dead. He didn't believe that. But the past tense felt so... final, somehow. The present eased some of the ache. ]
We just kind of get each other, you could say.
[ In many ways, but simply blurting out "I screwed Remy" is rather awkward, even for Kirk. ]

Re: video
I won't lie, the Tourist is going to feel a little lonelier now without him.

Re: video
Probably a good thing. Might have seen more of Remy than you ever wanted.
[ It was a switch between the Tourist and Remy's ship, though easier to have Remy come to the Tourist since Kirk was loathe to be away from it for very long. Being captain and all. Plus he had the nicer room. ]
video
Probably. But we also missed out on all those double dates we could have had.
Re: video
Naw, to many hearts would have been broken. It was for the best.

Re: video
Just keep him from worrying to much. You know how he gets.

Re: video
I think it's a unique and innate gift to any woman. But thanks. I'll be okay. He's not the first I've lost. It's just... raw, at the moment.

Re: video
Thank you, Kitty.
