Who: Leliana
Broadcast: Yes
Action: aboard the Blue Fish
When: now
[Have a redhead nun/rogue on your feed, fleeters. Someone took a bit of a nap this week and now has new memories? And also questions.]
I apologize if my absence was noticed by my crew or those I speak to in the Interfaith Center. It seems Atroma enjoys putting me to sleep for long periods of time - though the question is "How long?" I suppose. Should I expect any ill effects from repeated instances like these?
[Though she was a bit groggy waking up.]
It seems time passed much more quickly while I was asleep. It felt as if I had returned home again and time had passed there as it normally does here. Two years passed there while it feels as if no time has passed here at all.
[Private message to Riona]
It seems the Inquisitor saw fit to elect me as Divine in Justinia's place, since you and I last spoke.

[Wolfe smiles at her through the feed. He's curious to hear any news about how Thedas has progressed, even if it's technically not his and Anders' version, but so many things were left unresolved when they woke up here... It's impolite to just bombard her with questions though.]
I haven't heard anything about ill effects, but I haven't been through it myself. As for the amount of time, I haven't seen you since we talked about putting together a Wicked Grace night and that was about a month ago. I'm not sure if it's been that long since you fell asleep, though. Just since I saw you.

[She smiles a bit at the use of her former title. It was a bit nostalgic, having gone two years addressed as Most Holy.]
I got a bit busy when we landed on the glacial planet. And it seems the Atroma saw fit to give me a bit of a nap.
[Carefully, she thinks of how to choose her words.]
I went to sleep as the Divine's Left Hand and awoke as her Successor to the Sunburst Throne.

[He stares for a long moment, not quite slack-jawed but certainly surprised. He knew her name had been tossed around in rumor but he didn't think she actually had a chance given her beliefs regarding mages and Templars. He'd told Anders as much but largely kept the opinion to himself. Sure, he would love to see her on the Sunburst Throne, then maybe there could actually be some real, effective, and long lasting change. But to actually hear that that's happened?]
Are you serious?
no subject
[She just continues as if he didn't get caught off guard, smiling more widely as she does.]
no subject
[He laughs, but there's an odd note to it, something disbelieving.]
I... I can hardly believe it. You're really Divine? What, um...
[He fidgets. So atypical of him, but he fidgets with his fingers for a moment before he asks.]
What are you going to do?
no subject
[Heh. Don't tempt her, Hawke!!]
I've been Divine for two years, actually. As for what I planned to do with it - I abolished the Circle of Magi.
no subject
I abolished the Circle of Magi.
Abolished the Circle.
The Circle is gone. At least one Thedas has free mages.
Something warm and wet hits his cheek and Adalwolfe reaches up to wipe a tear from his cheek with a choked laugh.]
I'm sure whatever's left of the Templars loves you for that.
no subject
[And she'd have no problems with that if it meant less chaos in the world.]
The mages reformed the College of Enchanters so that they could continue their studies and practice magic in a safe place without fear or oppression.

[He imagines it to be more like the school Hermione spoke about from her world. A place of learning instead of a place of control and subjugation.]
And the mages can go home, keep in contact with their families and the like?
no subject
[Otherwise heads would literally be rolling. There were some that said blood filled the halls of the Great Cathedral itself, but then she never paid much stock in such things.]

[He sits back, hand over his mouth and chin in some mixture of awe and... something. He's not even sure what. Gratitude? Disbelief? It seems so foreign that suddenly everything is better. Not perfect, of course. Adalwolfe of all knows the ugliness that comes from hateful people who don't get their way (Petrice comes to mind) but it's such leaps and bounds beyond what Wolfe ever thought would be achieved with the start of the war. He'd had his doubts. He'd hoped, he'd planned, and he knew with conviction that something had to change, but all this? He'd never thought it possible.]
Anders needs to be told. This is...
[He breathes out heavily.]
Wow.

[She runs her fingers through her hair, brows furrowed a bit. She was definitely still tired, but still - the others would want to speak to her and know of the good news she brings. It isn't perfect, of course, but she's certainly made plenty of positive changes over the years since her ascension of the throne.]

[He feels just a bit giddy. It's not his Thedas, he knows that, but the face that it's possible in any Thedas means its possible in theirs. He imagines the look on Anders' face, almost asks her not to tell him so he can have that pleasure for himself. But no, no he needs to hear it from her. He needs to hear it from the person who was there and made it happen, not second hand.]
I, uh. I don't think you missed too much here in the fleet this time, at least. But Maker's breath...
[He's still in awe. He can't help it. This news is everything.]
Thank you.
[He's a fairly sincere person, but even so this is the most earnest he's ever been in his life.]
I can't even begin to-- just. Thank you.
no subject
[As it is... she doesn't know what will come, with everything Solas has planned. What little peace she's given the mages could very well be lost again.]
I may be the Divine but that's no promise fighting won't someday break out again or another Blight happens or what have you.
no subject
[He takes in a breath and lets it go slowly.]
My father was forced to do terrible things just in order to have a family. To know that in some Thedas that doesn't have to happen, that a mage can freely fall in love and raise children without the Chantry trying their damnedest to stop it, that means more than I have words to express.
no subject
Not many choose to take the risk. I am glad to have made it less damning a thing to fall in love. It isn't without its dissenters, but then nothing ever is.
no subject
[He smirks ruefully.]
You know, if nothing else explodes.
no subject
[Gotta love Blights and Breaches and darkspawn and demons... they're definitely predictable.]
You know - speaking of love... have the two of you ever talked about... well.
[Forgive her for prying she loves prying into other people's love lives. Riona and Alistair are an old married couple, Cullen and the Inquisitor are downright disgusting with how sweet they were... are? Someday she will get it straight. More to the point: She wouldn't mind making Wolfe uncomfortable for just a minute.]
The two of you. I have no idea if you're married or not, I imagine it would be quite the gossip back home, if so. Or at least Varric would have mentioned it, no?
[Please can she pry into someone's life today?]
no subject
Not for lack of wanting to on my part but in Kirkwall before the rebellion I was nobility so our relationship, though not exactly private, wasn't really considered... I don't know, valid? by the rest of the aristocracy considering we're both men and therefore can't produce a child. And pissing off the nobles at that point would have just pissed off Meredith - though frankly I think she was just pissed off in general and I should have said hang it all, but there were issues with, y'know, Anders being the Darktown Healer being the worst kept secret in the city and finding a Sister to do the ceremony would have required our arrest afterwards, and a whole mess of other problems like Anders not technically having said yes even though I've asked him several times and then going on the run and well.
[He's just going to gloss over the Anders not technically answering him part. He hasn't said no, and in fact said he wants to, but it's just never been a good time and Hawke had told him he would always be ready, so the ball was in the healer's court and has been for some time.]
The short answer is no, we're not. I even told Varric to write it into the book actually but he wouldn't.
no subject
Ah. I thought... perhaps here it might seem more of an option? And regardless of the Chantry's rules... if you're together in the ways that it counts, that's enough.
no subject
[He ads the last quickly, waving his hands briefly as if that negates any offense she might have taken to him calling Andraste's opinion hogwash.]
I know there's none of the pressures here anymore, but he hasn't brought it up again and I swore to him I wouldn't either unless he brought it up first. I'm not going to break that no matter how much I may want to.
[Or maybe should. Maybe Anders has just forgotten? But if he has than Wolfe might... be a little put out...]
no subject
[She smiles faintly, understanding what he is trying to say.]
It doesn't have to be the religious part that's important. It should be the two of you that is.
no subject
[He gives a wan smile, more unhappy than he lets on that Anders hasn't said a word on it after years. They'd almost come close to talking about it the night Anders had been freed of Justice, but he'd balked at bringing it up. Anders was entirely too drunk for anything he said to be taken to heart anyway. In not asking, he'd saved both their feelings. At least, that's what he tells himself.
That wan smile is quickly replaced with something more jovial.]
Besides! Not everyone is here. It'd be a shame to marry without the rest of our family in attendance.
[Varric, Aveline, Merrill... Carver. He'd always wanted Carver as his best man, though he'd never said as much considering how Carver had treated Anders with such surly distaste. Even still, Carver is his brother, and he loves him dearly, whatever his (enormous and obvious) faults.
Maker's balls he misses Carver so badly. It's like missing a limb.]

[It would be nice to see Varric again, she'll admit. She liked the dwarf - he was a mite more agreeable than Oghren (when the dwarf was drunk, at least... which was all the damn time). Varric and she got on quite nicely.]
no subject
[He smiles gently, a covering smile meant to focus on positive instead of the heavy realization that none of his blood relations will be at his wedding when and if it does happen. Anders wouldn't have anyone either. Except...]
Riona would be there for Anders though, I think he'd want that. She's incredibly important to him, as I'm sure you know.
