Who: Leliana
Broadcast: Yes
Action: aboard the Blue Fish
When: now
[Have a redhead nun/rogue on your feed, fleeters. Someone took a bit of a nap this week and now has new memories? And also questions.]
I apologize if my absence was noticed by my crew or those I speak to in the Interfaith Center. It seems Atroma enjoys putting me to sleep for long periods of time - though the question is "How long?" I suppose. Should I expect any ill effects from repeated instances like these?
[Though she was a bit groggy waking up.]
It seems time passed much more quickly while I was asleep. It felt as if I had returned home again and time had passed there as it normally does here. Two years passed there while it feels as if no time has passed here at all.
[Private message to Riona]
It seems the Inquisitor saw fit to elect me as Divine in Justinia's place, since you and I last spoke.

[She hopes so. That's what it sounds like, from what little she knows of the conflict. That, and Orlais' armies should be enough of a deterrent.]
The... Circles are gone?
[Wow. Just... wow. Riona blinks, almost unable to believe it. She never thought she'd ever see the day.]
But wasn't there a huge war or something going on with them? For breaking away?
no subject
[Now you're just being scary, Leliana. Still, she waves it away, going back to her questions.]
Yes, but that war was between the Templars who presided over the Circles and the mages themselves. The Chantry's only part in it was that the Conclave Justinia had tried to hold failed to placate either side's concerns or demands. Now that a new Divine is in power, things have somewhat taken a turn.
[She smiles for a moment, almost sinister but playful.]
You know how I've always felt about the Mages, no? It isn't right to just... keep them locked away. I wanted to find a solution that could work for them, while also taking the corruption out of the Templar Order. Cassandra's helped a great deal with restoring the Seekers and the one thing everyone seemed to find common ground in was the dissolution of the Inquisition.

[She's glad as well, and she sincerely hopes things begin to turn around for the better. Magic can be used for good, and mages are people. Safeguards need to be kept in place, yes, but throwing people in essentially prison just for being what they are is awful.]
So no more Circles and hopefully a reformed Templar Order. You keep this up, Thedas will be nigh unrecognizable by the time the age is through. [And she doesn't sound sorry about that at all.]
no subject
[You know because he's gotta take care of his fellow Thedas people and mother hen them with healing magic etc.]
As for how unrecognisable it might be... Perhaps? Ferelden is still Ferelden to me, I think.
[Except with less mages and templars fighting.]

[Leliana's remark about Ferelden leaves Riona uncertain. It's good Ferelden is still standing and all, but did that also mean nothing had changed? And what of her, in that time? The question begged her to ask, but she feared the answer more.]
That is something. Oh, now that I'm thinking about it: don't you get a new name when you become Divine?
no subject
[No he didn't, but she's still allowed to tease him. She'd cry too if she were a mage. As for the name... she thought perhaps she'd keep it to herself, but then since Riona is asking, it's only fair.]
I do. Thank the maker it isn't Beatrix. [She laughs a bit, tucking her hands beneath her chin.]
Divine Victoria

Victoria. I suppose that's what I should call you, but I'm not sure I have the heart. You'll always be Leli to me.

And we also have no goddamn clue if Riona goes back to Ferelden anyway thanks Bioware]no subject

And it's also why Riona is not asking about the future because it's a big ??? and let's avoid that shall we]no subject
[A good thing it still stands, honestly. Riona and Alistair's rule stood for peace and she rather thought that was something others drew hope from. All that romantic fantasy about true love and all that - It was the stuff of songs.</small.] But that is hardly a worry anymore. Both have passed.

[But Ferelden rose up and fought back each time. It sends a surge of pride through her.]
Our home will not go down so easily. Though, it would be nice if the next catastrophe picked on someone else.

[Because ew, Tevinter.]
