[The First Battle]

[They come shooting out of the great dark. Guns blazing, no warning. The enemy ships are ragtag, mismatched, and cobbled together from spare parts. But that doesn’t make them weak. No-- years and years of scavenging have turned them into raiders, and they carry their scars with pride.

The battle is more aggressive than previous attacks against the Fleet. Nothing deters the raiders because they’re tough, and if they see a wounded ship floundering, they have no problems swooping in and boarding. Those crews will soon learn the meaning of teamwork if they want to bring the attackers down. They infiltrate the Iskaulit as well, just in case people try to hide there. At this point they are very, very used to tracking down women and children for their slave trade.

If asked why they’re doing this, the answer is simple.

Spare parts have to come from somewhere.

Don’t worry. Nothing on your ship, and no one, will go to waste.]


[A Few Hours Later]

[The raiders are too strong and the Fleet is failing. After what seems like an eternity of warfare, static comes in, broadcasted to the fleet at large. Something or someone is hailing them…

The signal is untraceable and the video is complete static, but they tell the Fleet they are here to help. Ships come swooping out of the black and they open fire on the raiders. They number a dozen, maybe more, and the ships look eerily similar to the ones currently used by the Fleet, if not a bit older and battle-hardened. Their shielding and weaponry is much, much better, however-- and most of them have custom paint or other touches on their hulls.

They’re not invincible, however. A few may end up between a rock and a hard place when the raiders surround them.

Some older residents may remember this particular group of ships. They’re obviously helping out now, but there’s nothing stopping Fleeters from firing on their would-be saviors save a complete lack of weaponry. You do have a Security officer on board, don’t you? They’ll defend themselves by seriously injuring your ship, but they won’t destroy it for some reason. Small mercies.

The raiders soon realize they’re outgunned and jump ship, taking their dead with them. The intercepting fleet pulls back, too, and both parties vanish back into the dark as silently and swiftly as they came. There’s a lot of cleanup to do whether your ship is disabled or you’re preparing to tow someone else.

Hopefully, the people who saved you don’t change their minds.]

[The lack of a pilot and communications officer is extremely felt this battle, the Blue Fish will be getting Heavy Damage and there will be a Boarding Party to make their day worse.

[Space Battle]

[Jeyne was in the med bay, continuing her work and research when the first hit came. The sudden jolting of the ship knocked the bowl from her hand, causing it to shatter on the ground. She grasped at the table, shocked and overwhelmed, but struggling to discern what could have caused that movement.

All at once, shots land in rapid precision, rocking the ship more violently. As everything careened about her, Jeyne's grip loosened on the table and her feet tangled under her. She felt her head collide with the edge of the table, the world turning bright and sharp around her before dimming and becoming hazy. She could hear a ringing in her ears and voices in the distance.

Slowly, she pulled herself up, feeling her skin cut and tear against the bowl. She pushed her way to the hall, clutching her head tenderly. Everyone was running about and ship continually lurched about as more hits came. Edging her way towards her room, Jeyne looked about in a daze.]

What's going on?

[Boarding Party]

[There was little to protect herself with. A rudimentary knowledge of archery and the small defensive skills she had been shown by others. With her mind still stalled because of her injury, what she had learned slipped away as she spied the first of the raiders striding into the Golden's corridors.

She had left her room, intent on helping others, but slowly it became apparent that the danger had not diminished but increased. With little else she could do and the growing threat of a boarding party appearing, Jeyne darted back towards her room to bar the door.

They came in large numbers, blocking her way and tearing through the halls wildly. Any doors that were closed, they knocked open. There was no place to hide and she had no means to fight. When they spy her, she knows what they see. She had seen the horrors of war and knew the stories of what could happen to women. It was only when she felt hands on her arms, pulling her backwards that she struggled, screaming loudly as she scratched, kicked and bit.

They were dragging her back, pulling her somewhere (likely towards their ship), but she'd fight them every step of the way. She felt like a wild animal, backed into a corner and clawing for survival.]

[Aftermath]

[Despite the horrors and her own injuries, Jeyne returned to the medical bay to assist with those that needed care and tending to. Working alongside Beverly, she administered first aid for those that were not as seriously hurt. The salves that she had prepared finally becoming useful.

She forced a smile on her face, trying to remain optimistic, even when faced with the severity of the damage on their ship.]

[Despite the din of battle, Jeyne's screams ring above the cacophony. Riona backhands one of the raiders with her shield while she tries to locate where she is.]

Jeyne!

[She moves, weaving through the ship, desperately trying to find her. She can't be far, I heard-

Just as she rounds a corner, she finds a group of them trying to drag her away. It seems Jeyne's giving them a hard time with her efforts, slowing them down a fair bit.

Riona's about to give them a much harder one.

She grabs her knife and throws it, catching one of them in the chest and sending him to the ground. Breaking out into a sprint, she charges at the rest of them, intending barrel as many down as she can and cut her way through to Jeyne. Her shield is raised, and with a force that one wouldn't expect, given her size, she slams into them.]

[Jeyne might not know Leliana very well but the red head was one of the Blue Fish' security officers, now here to save the day. A knife flies by the younger girl's head, lodging itself into a raider's eye. That was definitely enough to get him to let her go. Another is felled by an arrow. Leliana wasn't too fond of the guns they are given in the armory, choosing to opt for her old stand bys. This is no different.

She shoots a few more arrows at various enemies before approaching Jeyne to pull her away from the action.]

Come along, we've got other places to be, no?

[She smiles a bit, as if this is absolutely no big deal.]

Space Battle

[When the first hit came, Beverly was in her quarters reading. Suffering no worse than a fall from her bed and a few bruises, she immediately climbs her ladder out into the corridor. Already she's making towards the clinic when Sokka's announcement comes over the comms. Doing her best to maintain balance while the ship is rocked by more hits, she sees Jeyne in the corridor, huddled against the wall and clutching her head.]

Jeyne!

[Beverly wraps an arm around the girl's waist. Her voice stays steady and soothing.]

I got you, come on. Let me see your head, just a moment...

-- Are you hurt?

[ it's the first thing sansa asks when jeyne joins her in the lab. with allen guarding the room, she feels safer than anywhere else on the ship. even so, there's a tremor in her voice. a panic behind her eyes.

she shuffles aside and invites jeyne to sit beside her on the floor. for once, most of her artifice has been stripped away. ]

[I. CRAB... BATTLE...]

[Kanda is rather useless as a lab officer since he mostly doesn't care about the technology. But that doesn't mean he's completely useless. As soon as he realizes people are boarding the ship, he's there to guard the way with his sword drawn. Anyone who brings swords to a goddamn gun fight is an idiot, or so the saying goes, but Kanda is ridiculously fast. Any phaser blasts that get directed at him, he just deflects them with the black-red blade of his sword.

He's also not against killing people, though he tries to put it off as much as possible if Allen and Sokka are around. Otherwise he carves through the party with ruthless efficiency afforded to him by his healing factor. Honestly, he looks like he isn't even trying.]

[II. did someone call for a medic]

[Until someone comes up behind him and smashes him in the head. He goes down hard, and he won't be back up for a few minutes... but when he does, he's furious; his black and red coat is slick and dark with his own blood, though that's not as fearsome as the look on his face.

If anyone stops to help him, he won't be grateful. In fact:]

Out of my way! I'm gonna KILL THEM ALL.

[Allen hadn't reached Kanda in time to stop him from getting his head smashed, but he'll have been looking after the guy while he was knocked out. And by looking out, I mean knocking away any attackers with his cape or own strength. None of the ones he's attacking are getting killed, just more thrown across the room.

When Kanda gets up again, he doesn't even seem surprised or disturbed by the yelling]

Oh! About time you woke up! I thought you were going to nap the entire attack away!

[Wait, what? Did he see that correctly? Robb stands there and blinks a couple of times when the new man in the lab flashes past him, slicing through the men as if they were butter.

He waits for a long moment before he speaks, eyes widened and full of awe.]

That was quite impressive if I may so so, ser.

[It is a bit foolish to stand here and talk about swordsmanship but...well, Robb can't help it.]

Sokka | OTA

[Space Battle/Ship network]

[Sokka has survived one of these attacks before. But this is different, they've never been this aggressive before. He can't fly or do much of anything to protect the ship itself. He keeps the shields up, but he knows they can only hold so much before they break. They can't even move. He speaks over the ship's network, voice hurried yet calm. ]

I need everyone at their stations, and do what they can to keep her in the sky. If this is like last time, they'll just push us into the nearest nebula and leave us alone. Be ready in med bey all the same!

[Boarding Party]

[Of course, it's NOT like last time, and they have raiders board the ship. Sokka needs to try and keep the ship's engine working, lest she just lose power completely. Still, he can be seen breaking from the engine room when he can, when they come near to it, his sword slashing out in the small space. For the most part, he's keeping any eye out for his crew, trying to spot anyone in danger, between darting back to fix the engine again. ]

[Aftermath]

How're you holding up?

[Sokka's making the rounds, checking on each and every crew member. Once he knows the State of the Fish, he'll be retiring back to the engine room to try and mend the damage done to their beloved ship. Please remind him to sleep because he will absolutely forget to. ]

[Jeyne glanced up from the counter that she had claimed for all of her herbal remedies. With the number of injured, she had set up a place for herself in the med bay, putting her new salves and mixtures to use.

Her mind had been focused on the task that she had forgotten about everything but the work at hand. Blood crusted her forehead where she had landed against the table, unnoticed in the chaos and frenzy.

It was a relief to see Sokka uninjured and okay.]

Well enough. Are you all right?

[ Eithan just so happens to be very quickly backing away from two raiders, right in front of the engine room! He's already muttering a spell under his breath, crackling flames appearing in the palms of his hands, but he might not have been able to finish had that sword not swung out from the door, striking one of them hard enough to stun and confuse the both of them. Awesome!

With a triumphant grin, Eithan pushes his flames forward, detonating a small, controlled explosion around the raiders. It... might leave a little bit of a charred mess but hey he'll fix that when this is all over, he swears.

He turns to Sokka, nods once. ]

Thanks, Captain. There's a few more comin' this way -- I'll watch the door for you?

Aftermath

[Once all the fighting was done, Korra made her way immediately for the Blue Fish. Naga was left safely behind on the Wonderduck while Korra made a beeline for the engine room, knowing Sokka would be there]

Sokka!

[The Blue Fish was a mess and Korra had no way of knowing if Sokka was injured so - for now - the hugs would wait.]

Aftermath

[Clay had already checked in with Allen, so that's one major relief. But Blue Fish is still a mess, and it can't move, and that just won't do. So as Clay gets the Vanquish in a better position, he hails Sokka first, just to make sure.]

Hey! This is SS Vanquish; looks like you guys could use some help!

Aftermath

[He's already found several of the crew, but now it was time to look for Sokka in the engine area of the ship. He's got some bruises and cuts on him- but nothing too severe. Compared to several others in the crew, he got off lucky.]

Sokka?

[He keeps looking around, both worried about his captain and friend, and saddened by the damage of the ship in this area. It looks so different than how it looked this morning when he came down here...it's almost hard to believe it's the same place]

[ sokka's already been and gone, once. visited her; checked in; done his duty. sansa told him she was tired -- suggested, perhaps, that she wanted to rest. but when she walks back into her room and sees it in such disarray...?

old insecurities bubble to the surface. she sits on her bed, feels like her heart is beating too quickly, and realizes there will be no sleep for her tonight. sansa thinks about finding her brother -- but she knows his wife will be tending to him, and she isn't prepared to intrude upon them. everyone else is too hurt; too unfamiliar; too preoccupied.

hours after stewing in her own post-raid panic, she finds her way to the engine room. sansa is surprised to see sokka still at work. she clears her throat. ]

-- Have you yet rested?

[Ship network]

[But captain, Robb has no idea how to keep the ship afloat.]

Must I make sure that everyone has access to a weapon and get ready for what might come? Or do you want me to prepare evacuations? [A pause.] Captain?

Would you believe me if I said I've suffered worse?

[Being gutted kind of sucks, she won't lie. But she'd still take this over a dragon almost ripping her in half any day.

Still, she makes for a bit of a sorry sight on her bed in the med bay. Her color still hasn't fully returned, and she's weaker than normal.]

A. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE PIRATES? (aka boarding party)

[Well, on the bright side, Riona finally gets to use her armor she'd come here with after a whole year of it collecting dust!

But yeah, Riona's sprinting to her room as soon as she realizes that they're under attack. Kiter's holed up in her room, too small to be of any help, as Riona quickly throws on her armor. It's heavy armor, fortunately, but it takes a little longer than she'd like to get it on because, well, straps.

But once she's geared up, she's got her sword and shield in hand as she charges out of her room. And she's immediately greeted by the sight of raiders sprinting towards her.

Well then.

Riona shouts as she pulls her shield up and charges at them, it deflecting most of their shots until she plows straight into them, knocking them down. Her sword guts one of them, but the other gets up and starts to fire at her. One of the shots hits her armor, scorching it and leaving the skin under it burning.]

Piss and shit! [As she raises her shield, more raiders show up to help their comrade. Their shots bounce off her shield, but they're keeping her pinned and unable to fight back.] I need some help here!

B. OW OW OW OW (aka the aftermath)

[The good news is, the assholes have left and they more or less won. Hurrah.

The bad news is, Riona is in very, very bad shape. Her armor wasn't made to stand up to lasers and phasers and all of what the raiders threw at her, so it's blasted and torn apart. She ditched her gauntlets ages ago, and most of her chestplate is just scrap metal now.

Propped up against the wall in a hallway, Riona groans as she struggles to stand. Blood spatters the walls, some of it theirs... and some of it hers. More of hers is pooling on the floor under her, seeping through her clothes and her fingers as she desperately clutches at the wound near her gut. It's hardly her only injury, but it's the one currently diverting her attention.]

Would you, ah, would you be willing to help me up?

[She might need a doctor.]

Gods be good!

[The shock ruins any attempts she might have made to mask the severity of Riona's wounds. The blood seemed to be everywhere and the color of Riona's face was chilling. But the way she clutches at her gut makes Jeyne's heart drop. They needed to staunch the blood flow and quickly.

Riona had been on her mind since she had fearlessly rescued Jeyne. It wasn't until now that she could seek her out, having helped administer some first aid. Quickly, Jeyne rushed over to her friend, ripping at the hem of her skirts. It would have to serve until they could move her.]

Let me bind it first. [Otherwise the movement might make her bleed more.] I will need to have a look.

[After the fight was over, Allen had been going around the ship looking for everyone. When he spots Riona, he quickly rushes over and kneels down, pulling open his medical pack. God...she's bleeding really bad.]

No, hold still. we need to slow the bleeding before you go anywhere.

[ How about some help in the form of magic~?

Eithan hears her call out, sprints over, and it doesn't take him long to assess the situation and figure out just how big of an explosion he's gonna make... ]

On it! Stay covered!

[ He calls forth his flames, lets them swirl and twist into a crackling, volatile ball, and then he hurls it into the midst of the raiders ganging up on Riona. Once that fireball makes contact? Boom.

(He promises he'll scrub the scorch marks out later. Really. Right now, battle's more important.) ]

[Silly Riona, armor is not made for lasers!! Leliana comes immediately behind her, shooting an arrow or two towards the raiders, taking care to keep moving so as to avoid lasers as much as possible. There are a few laser burns here and there, but so far she is none the worse for wear.]

You called, Your Grace?

[Leliana's laughter rings out as she shoots another arrow straight into a raider's chest. Dashing forward she yanks it out of him and stabs a second raider in the throat with it like a knife. The shaft began to split from the force of it so she left it as is, twisting through the throng of enemies like a dancer as she switched to blades and began stabbing and slashing as she could get an attack in.]

[Boarding Party]

[When the boarding party comes aboard, Allen takes to defending the hallways that lead to the medical bay. He's got his Innocence Cape activated to help him fend off any attacks. And while he's got a strict no-killing rule for himself, that doesn't really stop him from incapacitating them by other means, such as throwing them against walls, shooting ribbons to tie them up, breaking their weapons with his claws, or even breaking some bones. All of this is done at an energy level that clearly shows he's not even using most of his power fighting off all these people. Only when the ship gets hit by another blast does he lose any sort of footing, and even then he's quick to recover.

This is probably the reason why the blood drive is kept on the Blue Fish, okay. If you're looking for a safe zone from all the attacks, the clinic is clearly the place to be. Either help him fight off combatants or check in with him when the area is clear.]

[Aftermath]

[After all is said and done, Allen is one of the ones that manage to get off with nothing more than a few scrapes and bruises, mostly from the ship being rocked around so much. If he's shaken up by the attack, he doesn't show it, instead completely throwing himself into helping mode. It's how he copes best, after all.

So at some point, whether you're in the med bay or somewhere else, whether you're horribly injured or just tired, Allen will be coming to check on you. ]

[Otherwise at this point he'll be responding to anything on his communicator as well, if you wish to check in]

[Battle!]
[The moment he feels how powerful the first hit has been he knows that this means trouble. It is too forceful to be blamed on things like space turbulence and other modern nonsense. He takes hold of his sword and gun and rushes out of the weaponry, yelling at everyone who might cross his path.]

Something is amiss! [Robb knows it, he feels it in his gut and when the hits keep on coming the rushing changes into stumbling from one wall into another.]

Captain!?

[Boarding party!]
[Robb doesn't know anything of all the machinery inside the ship but even a complete lackwit could conclude that there was quite some damage. Lights were flickering and he heard howling sounds his ears really do not like. And at this point he is frantically looking for his sister and his wife.

When he would look back on it he'd apologise for being this selfish but with every step he takes, the worry grows and he calls their names constantly.

At first he doesn't notice that it is a raid but then strange men come pouring in. One after another. All carrying some sort of space weapon and not afraid to use them either. The hallways of the Blue Fish are small and it would be impossible to find a hiding place. Even though the weight of a sword feels safe and familiar, it isn't going to save him in this position. He pulls the gun first and starts firing, brows furrowed with concentration.]

Go back where you came from!

[Because Robb is not planning to let any of them pass. He would not let any of them get to his family...or friends. He had made that mistake once, and he is not going to make it again.]

[After I - inside the Blue Fish]
[When the guns hit you it burns. It does not sting the way an arrow does and there isn't much blood either. They manage to hit him in the leg twice and once in the back.

Gods, what craven shoots a man in the back!

Robb thanks the gods that they decide to leave him for dead so he can start to make his way to the small transport ships so he can try escaping.]

[After II - Closed to Hermione]
[Robb is not sure if he escaped or what he did. Everything is a bit of a blur to him. His body feels weak and he is fairly sure that he is bleeding. Breathing is becoming a bit of an ordeal and he wonders if he is going to die again.

He can see someone's face above him. It is familiar and it makes him smile but it is hard to put one and one together and come with a name.]

[After III - Medbay]
[After Hermione has healed him Robb is going to search for his friends. See if they're allright, fret a little and stay at their side when needed.]
