[Dezel detaches from the shadow of the ship and leans out just far enough that he can be seen.]

We're going on an adventure, [he states flatly, with about as much enthusiasm as Eeyore ever knew.]

An educational adventure, to be more precise.

[He does let go, though. Sora's not likely to run off, and even if he was, he wouldn't get far with Dezel here.]

We found an area that's isolated enough, but it's pretty far. We need to get moving or we'll run out of daylight.

An educational adventure? [A beat before he gets it] ...Oh. Right.

[No getting out of this one. Mikleo and Dezel did seem pretty earnest about figuring out his powers, after all.]

Well, alright then. Let's go.

[Dezel casually pulls a couple hoverboards out of his coat like it's no big deal.]

Here.

[nerdeology]

[Gotta love those seraphim bags of holding.]

...When did you pick those up?

[And how, for that matter. Surely the renters have no resonance. ...Or maybe it's a bad idea to question the methods of a seraph of Dezel's, er, moral character.]

[!!! Okay perking up now]

Hoverboards? Cool!

[Taking one now! Sora meanwhile, doesn't think twice about where Dezel could've picked them up.]

Does that mean we're going outta the city?

A couple hours ago.

[He's just been walking around with hoverboards in his hammerspace, nbd.]

Yeah, we're going to go somewhere there's no people.

[nerdeology]

[Fine, he won't question it. Although--]

...do you... know how to actually use that?

[IT DOESN'T... LOOK VERY STABLE...]

Of course! [He pumps his fist] They're super easy!

[Okay maybe for him since wind child over here, but DETAILS. He turns on his own, drops it to the ground so it hovers a few inches above the ground, and hops on it. See? Easy!1!]

[Dezel usually doesn't fly weird things, but with nothing between him and the air, he'll probably do a better job. He'll still miss his armatus' wings, though. He follows suit and lets his board hover a few inches above the ground. Unsurprisingly, he is able to balance on it without any trouble.]

If you're worried, you can ride with me.

[Weight: not a problem when you're with a wind seraph. Too bad they can't just make Sorey carry them around all the time.]

[nerdeology]

I'm not worried.

[He's... a little worried. He stares down his own board warily, then cautiously puts one foot on it, trying to mimic their stances. He's already wobbling.]

I just don't think it's very safe.

[notzubats]

It's fine, Mikleo! Don't worry!

You just gotta stand on it and move it around with your body! Like you're surfing, but on air!

[Assuming Mikleo's...surfed anyway. That's a big if.]

I won't let anyone fall.

[A pause.]

Well, if you fall, I won't let you die. [That's comforting, right?]

[nerdeology]

[IT'S REALLY NOT

And goddammit, why do they both make this look easy? Mikleo tries with both feet but he's wobbling all over again, hands bracing against a wall to keep from falling over.]

Can't we just windstep there!?

[notzubats]

Not unless there's some floating island out there I don't know about to land on.

[Which somehow he doubts there is. But Sora, being the good and not petty person he is, moves so him and his board are hovering by Mikleo like it ain't no thing with a grin on his face.]

Besides, didn't you tell me on Ikke it's good to experience new things?

[Jeez, what the heck... Sora's being a brat and Mikleo's about to fall off the thing and kill himself. Dezel wonders when he ended up babysitting both of them. He hops off the hoverboard.]

The more you move, the worse it gets. Here -- [He reaches out to steady Mikleo with both hands.]

Are you sure you don't want me to ride with you? [Mikleo's small, it's not like they won't fit.]

[nerdeology]

[STUBBORNLY. Wait, doesn't that mean he isn't sure? Well, whatever!! Mikleo bats Dezel's hands away and leans in, forcing the hoverboard forward- which unfortunately causes it to fly out from beneath him, the momentum shoving him backwards and right onto Dezel, with about as much grace as a flailing fish. The hoverboard spins end over end to land in the nearby grass, sputtering uselessly.

Dammit. Goddammit. That wasn't supposed to happen.]

[ Dezel when aren't you babysitting both of them, seriously.

Mikleo's fall catches him by surprise, and he ducks out of reflex to avoid getting hit by the board. Then slowly he looks to make sure it's safe. Just...wow. ]

On the other hand...maybe you should take up Dezel's offer.

[sylphystia]

[Dezel gets a hand shoved up his face somehow and he's so surprised that he actually ends up on the ground beneath Mikleo, his hat somewhere nearby, and looking quite displeased.]

Both of you need to CUT IT OUT.

[WELP SOMEONE PUT HIS HOT TOPIC UNDERPANTS ON BACKWARDS THIS MORNING]

[w e l p he's officially mortified. Mikleo glances between the two of them, a mixture of annoyance and embarrassment crossing his cheeks, until finally he pushes himself off Dezel with a quiet apology and fetches his hat.]

Fine, fine, I'll... ride with you for now, I guess.

[Please don't get them killed, he doesn't want to die screaming on a hoverboard.]

[While Mikleo does that, Sora makes a face. Okay so yeah he guesses he shouldn't have been teasing, but-]

Hey, there's no reason to shout. He didn't do it on purpose.

[GOSH DEZEL LOOSEN SOME OF THOSE BELTS THEY ARE MAKING YOU CRANKY.

[He grumbles as he gets up and dusts himself off. Despite being blind, he sends Sora a glare that could make his hair flatten. He doesn't stop until Mikleo hands him his hat, then he jams it on his head and stalks off to track down Mikleo's hoverboard. When all is said and done, Dezel hides the extra board and gets on the one Mikleo had so expertly driven, and he appears to be composed.]

Come on.

[nerdeology]

[Mikleo has never looked so reluctant as he does while climbing up on the hoverboard behind Dezel. He winds an arm around the wind seraph, fingers gripping the leather of his coat maybe a bit too tightly. He knows Dezel can read the wind, but geez... there's a reason they don't let him pilot anything.]

Let's go...

[At least Sora doesn't laugh when Mikleo gets on. Not as big a jerk as he could've been award winner right here]

Okay! Which way?

[sylphystia]

We're heading west.

[He leans forward a little and eases the board into motion. He's already had a little practice with the hoverboards on his own time, but at the heart of things, he's able to steer mostly using the wind. The hoverboard is just there to keep him from expending all his effort on flying.

And if he notices Mikleo clinging to him, he doesn't say anything. Hopefully Mikleo won't say anything either when he gently reaches down to take his clinging hand and hold him there.]
