I suppose it is something of an acquired taste for some people. Or not a taste at all for others, as the case here may be.

Probably. I'm just not sure why people keep bringing it up with me. What makes them think I care?

Because people are very good at assuming things. Plus you seem about on the cusp of that age where most people start to care- so that probably has something to do with it.

Wouldn't it make more sense if I was younger then?

[ At least that's what he'd assume. Kubo always liked the younger kids. There wasn't anyone his age around. ]

[ Kubo plucks a string. He's never made many friends or acquaintances. The overwhelming presence of people who want to know him since he got here makes it hard to believe it's a good thing. ]

Vast experience doesn't mean much when you're living with other people.

Suppose it doesn't, but technically I'm not supposed to be living with them. Plus, I'm not really 'people'.

That's not how it works. You become people when you live among them. It changes you.
