I believe I've secured lodging for myself, with room enough for several others. If you need a place to stay, do let me know. It's a quaint little villa a bit outside of town. ...please don't mind the suspicious glances, I assure you, I've done nothing entirely against the guidelines that were set.

[Dorian has secured a villa, but the residents of Mor don't seem too keen on having an evil mage for a neighbor. As the month goes on, more and more villagers will show up to stand at the gates of the villa and threaten to come in after the "evil wizard".

Maybe he shouldn't have gone so overboard with the whole "contacting the spirits of the dead" thing.]

I can light you on fire or freeze you just as easily, of course, but zapping you is more fun. [And now Jove grins at him, not quite a shit eating grin but not entirely polite either.] I mean you in the general sense, obviously. Not you personally.

[and of all the things she's ever said, this is what finally gets a reaction out of him. for once, Jove gets Tek's smile to abruptly drop.

his eyes are on that crackle of energy in an instant, but it's only wariness at first. there are plenty of magical abilities that could look like that.

but then she goes and outright confirms his fears, and his expression goes cold.]

I would hope not. Because I will only say this once-- if that energy ever touches me, our relationship will quickly deteriorate.

That I haven't yet, after the way you said hello to me on our ship, should say a lot.

[But her hand closes into a fist and the lightning dissipates, no more than a faint glow before it's gone completely.]

I have no intention of using any of my abilities on you unless you try to kill me, so I can't argue with that assessment.

[he scoffs, gives a dismissive wave of his hand once the electricity is gone. he also lets his gaze fall away elsewhere, allowing the tension to dissipate along with it.]

That greeting was perfectly friendly, and if it unnerved you so badly, you may have to learn how to relax.

And, you know... I don't know why you seem to believe otherwise, but I don't have anything against you at all.

[and he's just as easy about bypassing the tension, laughing right along in response. if someone had seen them from a distance, they might have even said they looked like friends.]

I would hardly call it a habit. If I just happen to tread more silently than most, and you fail to pay attention to your surroundings, can it really be called my fault?

I'd call it at least half your fault if you've decided surprising me is a good way to spend your time.

[and he shrugs a bit, glancing in some direction away from the rest of the villa.]

In all honestly, this land has me feeling particularly restless.
