004 // the house of sin
Who: Dorian and assorted guests
Broadcast: Fleet-wide, 3/10
Action: In a villa practically in the forest (THE HOUSE OF SIN)
When: Broadcast- 3/10 // Action- 3/9-3/31? Until we leave.
Broadcast:
[The broadcast goes out on 3/10, and Dorian smirks a bit into the feed.]
I believe I've secured lodging for myself, with room enough for several others. If you need a place to stay, do let me know. It's a quaint little villa a bit outside of town. ...please don't mind the suspicious glances, I assure you, I've done nothing entirely against the guidelines that were set.
---------
Action:
[Dorian has secured a villa, but the residents of Mor don't seem too keen on having an evil mage for a neighbor. As the month goes on, more and more villagers will show up to stand at the gates of the villa and threaten to come in after the "evil wizard".
Maybe he shouldn't have gone so overboard with the whole "contacting the spirits of the dead" thing.]
((OOC: Mingle post for the House of Sin. We'll pretend there are enough rooms in here for everyone! Even if you character only drops by to rest their feet a bit, everyone is welcome to visit and stay the night if they want.))

ACTION FOR DORIAN around 3/12ish
There's some unpleasant whisperings about you. But I'm sure you're well aware of that.
[Don't mind the idle chit-chat as Cullen sets up the game.]

OPEN ; some nebulous time after people have settled in
It's soothing, after the sterile feeling of space. The three moons had been nice enough, but this? It's not even hard to pretend she's home when she stands with her back to the villa and looks out into the forest.
During the day she spends almost all her time outdoors, exploring the woods and gathering seeds and plants, catching fish in the streams and being generally elfy. She relishes the feeling of the grass and the dirt between her toes and it will be abundantly clear to anyone this is exactly where she wants to be and she's happier here than she has been since her arrival.
At night Jove heads indoors to gather in the communal areas of the villa, sharing food and drink and stories with anyone who happens to approach. She'll stay up far too late and only tumbles into bed once everyone else has settled in for the night.
All in all it's a pretty great setup, so good job there Dorian]

He retires late after a day of exploring or sparring or conversing, but even exhaustion doesn't always keep the nightmares at bay. There were a number of reasons why he stayed in a drafty loft in Skyhold when there were other places to sleep. But the main reason was solitude.
People were less likely to hear his muffled cries from his tower. He still had some dignity left--but that might change, here.]

and originally, he had followed the invitation because he'd been all too curious to see exactly which rules were supposedly being tested out here... but wandering through the villa in the evening, he's surprised to spot an unexpectedly familiar face, and that instantly becomes more interesting. at least for now.

[Anyone else might not have gotten a warning-- it's fun to see them jump if they don't hear him coming-- but she's not one of the ones he'd take by surprise. Arhen slips easily down from his perch in a nearby tree to join her, clearly just as pleased with this place as she is; his eyes are brighter than they've been in a while, smile thoroughly content. He hadn't been anywhere to be found around the villa that first night, and it's not hard to guess that he'd spent it in the forest instead.]
I was wondering how soon I'd find you out here.

[That is, until the peaceful afternoon got shattered with an ear-piercing scream.]
[It took him by complete surprise, the volume of the scream and how it felt like it clawed at his blood. Covering his ears didn't seem to have any effect on the volume, nor did it look like anyone else in the street was reacting - as if they couldn't hear it at all. Which meant...]
[He could feel it even through the illusion. The curse of his eye activated, and desperately looking for the source of that screaming. It had been so long since he's experienced this- any souls he did sense in the fleet hadn't been suffering. Sometimes sad, sometimes so old they could no longer remember who they were before- but never in pain. Not like this. None of them had this level of terror]
[The moment his eye pinpoints the source- he feels his stomach twist nauseously. It's nothing more than a fragment, not even a whole soul anymore. Someone went and ripped a soul apart here. Like an Akuma would.]
[His previous errand forgotten, he breaks into a run towards the source. He barely shouts apologies as he moves through crowds. His pace only picks up once he's past the city limit and it opens into the forest- his illusion shutting off as it's only getting in his way.]
[He's not sure what he was expecting when he finally comes upon the clearing where the source was coming from. It wasn't someone like Jove though]
- What?
You're- you're not an undead or an akuma. Why...why do you have that soul?
[Brb trying to work out this one. She's probably got a comment before he gets over this stunned surprise.]

Open, first few days
For now, he's just taken on his usual mercenary work, but unlike usual, he's been saving his money, instead of spending it on booze. Once he gets a sword...well, then things will be different.
People in the house might catch him late at night, eating in the kitchen before slinking off to his room to sleep. Maybe, if they're lucky. ]

It's been a few weeks since they last spoke- Fenris was oddly complimentary last time, uncharictaristically so, and Dorian was content to forget that the forced flattery had ever happened.
So, instead he knocks, and speaks only loudly enough to be heard through the door.]

ACTION (around 3/11ish)
[When he arrives, he'll knock on the front door (He is Japanese after all, he has to demonstrate some semblance of manners.) before walking right on in. He'll stand roughly just inside the entrance, checking out the interior. He lets out an impressed whistle, loud enough for anyone in the immediate area to hear.]

but instead she decided to sneak in through a window and poke around all of the rooms. sure, it's only a matter of time before someone finds her and asks her what she's doing there, but you know what? she's curious. she likes the feel of the old villa. won't take anyone's stuff or anything, she just... wants to see, creep around a little.

Hello there. [She's just come in from a full day out in the sun, a small pouch in one hand and a collection of green leaves in the other. Open | Latter part of the month
[Felix takes a few days to wander into the villa. It's an old habit, when he can afford it, to not to appear too eager to respond to a casual summons. It's also equally true that his complete lack of a sense of direction got him lost to the point that he ended up back at the inn he'd been staying in. Several times.
He does eventually find the place and makes his way inside, trying not to look as impressed and slightly envious as he is. It would have been a small sacrifice to his pride for accommodations like this.]
b - most evenings
[It doesn't take Felix long to decide this is a far better option than spending all that coin on an inn room. He feels oddly out of place with the place populated by people he's not actually met and are allegedly the associates of a necromancer he still has mixed feelings about.
That doesn't quite stop him from sprawling about the place in somewhat cat-like fashion as if he'd always been there, most often sitting in the common room with a drink, reading a book, playing solitaire with his new deck of cards, or poking about in the kitchen.
Old Paradisa habits die hard.]

He's getting there, though, and anyone that knows him would likely notice that he's looking more at ease, a little more relaxed, embracing what he can of this world. Since Jove had invited him, since he knows Dorian and welcomes the company as much as he can anything, considering, he makes his own little home in a room to one side, keeping mostly to himself.
It's obvious, though, that he is keeping an eye on the people that gather outside, curious and a little amused. They can't go anywhere without drawing some trouble, it seems. ]

[When she joins Solas as he's watching the group of people milling around, Jove's tone is light and joking. It's a but of a lie, because there might have been one or two times she let the light from the mark on her hand light up Dorian in an eerie green glow, but really Dorian was doing the brunt of the terrifying mage bit.]

3/26 - Leaving // OTA
He's shaken, and feels as if a part of his soul has been taken from him. The dragon had been ravenous, taking as much of the energy as he could that Dorian had obtained during the fight against him.
His recovery depends on a few factors, and he can't be bothered to even concern himself with the growing crowds that appear and disappear shortly before and after sunset. No, Dorian looks pale, his gaze bleary and and limbs listless.
He lays in bed, for the most part, either unable or apparently unwilling to move, shaken to his soul at the idea, the memory of his power being drained out of him forcefully.]
idek when this is set, all the time? pick something
Unable to do anything, but unwilling to leave, he usually spends his time pacing the room restlessly. On occasion, when he's awake, he speaks to Dorian in Tevene, partly words of concern, partly words of chiding frustration, for being foolish enough for getting himself in this state in the first place.
Very rarely, when exhaustion finally takes over, he sleeps. He flops uncomfortably into his chair and sleeps the fitful sleep he always does. Either way, he hardly ever leaves the room. He remains a perpetual force of worry and frustration.]

don't let it go.
and it isn't until hours later that the energy within it really starts to stick, reach out, reach in, and infect.
it whispers so quietly, nudging its keeper's thoughts in the direction of the nearest graveyards. it suggests that he should think about all of the places where death is likely to be found, never expecting that its keeper may have the capacity to detect its voice, let alone the possibility of disagreeing with it. so it will just continue its sneaking bits of communication, growing fractions more insistent as the sun goes down.]
