Apparently many people on the Fleet seem to be suffering from sadness. I have come up with some suitable solutions for you.

One: Crying. (This works for many)
Two: Drinking. (I'm less sure of this)
Three: Cuddling.

These usually work from what I've seen of people with . . . feelings. Hopefully you will all recover soon.

What a brief yet convenient story.

I dunno what you wanna hear. Tsukumogami spend the first hundred years waitin' for something to be around and cared for long enough that we can come live in it. Until then, we don't got a lot of [He vaguely gestures with one hand, clunking it against his helmet in his lap.] stuff going on.

'Sides I wasn't used or collected for anythin' so I spent most of my life sitting in basements and warehouses or gettin' melted for scrap metal.

I'm not looking for anything in particular. It's just unusual, even by the Fleet's standards.

Why, what's everyone else's story?

I don't know all of them. Most people are normal or have magic. Witches, mages, those kinds of people.

So most of 'em are human?

[He was hoping there'd be more spirits or something here, but oh well.]

I believe so, for the most part. I haven't met many non-humans yet.

[He huffs and sighs.]

Figures. Haven't run into many humans since I was summoned, but now I'm surrounded by 'em.

[He grumbles under his breath:] Hope I ain't messin' up time.

What were you normally surrounded by? . . . Swords?

Swords, a few spears, a naginata, yeah. My Saniwa was pretty much the only human we had contact with other than if they took us to the stores. [Which, thankfully, his Saniwa rarely ever took him.]

I guess, the troop spirits, but they usually stayed in their orbs.

We weren't supposed to mess with you humans, 'cause we can really freak you guys out sometimes.

I can imagine. Still, it would be an interesting experience. I lost my agiels when I came here. I would be curious to hear what they say.

[ they'd probably scream a lot, being torture weapons. ]

If they last long enough and you take good care of 'em, it might happen.

[That said, it's not like 99% of people would be able to notice unless they turned evil.]

What's an agiel? [He tries really hard not to mangle that pronunciation.] That's a new kinda weapon I've never heard of.

It's a weapon that causes pain with a single touch. Most people cannot even carry it.

Well shit, that sounds awful.

[But awesome? But also awful. He isn't sure what sort of spirit would live in a thing like that. It'd have to be able to deal with the pain, first of all.]

So what are the Mord'Sith anyway? You've mentioned that a couple times now.

So you kill a lot of people in your time then? With those agiels things?

Plenty. I've certainly lost count. The Midlands is always in a state of turmoil. Bandits, rogues, warlords . . . they never stop appearing.

Huh, sounds like a good time for a weapon.

[Turmoil was the bane of a human's life, but the absolute best time for a sword.]

You must've been busy, with all that to deal with. Did you serve some kinda lord or whatever?

I serve the Seeker. He's more of a heroic . . . helper.

They don't pay him. It's his destiny or fate to help those in need. Hero is the best word for it.
