[At some point after getting Nightingale to stop screaming, a proper party is assembled! They've got everything: tanks, mages, DPS, puzzle-solvers! This whole dungeon crawl should be a cinch, right? It's not like any of them have a tendency to attract bad luck or sudden disaster.

[ Seeing everybody so far getting things they recognize, or things important to them, Jayden seriously has to wonder what they could possibly give her. She was never one to have much in the way of possessions since becoming a Guardian, so what exactly is this box capable of, huh?

Her turn to find out. She cracks open the lid, waits for the light to die down... ]

Oh! Finally! That was very uncomfortable. Underwater, and in a box...

[ ... ... ...

Jayden practically shoves the lid the rest of the way open, reaches in, and scoops out what looks like a softball-sized blue mechanical spike-ball. She holds it in her palms for a second, and then it seems to shake itself off before floating on its own in front of her. ]

... My Ghost!!

[ This is definitely the most surprised she has ever sounded in the entire time she's been in the fleet. Savor it. ]

...That doesn't look like a ghost.

[That's all she's got. She's definitely staring at it, though.]

Don't do that. Anyway it would probably just float away in the water.

[ Jayden can't keep herself from smiling. She really did miss the little guy, and now that he's back, she does feel a tiny bit better about some things. Meanwhile, the Ghost is staring right back at Opal, and tilts forward for a second - like an approximation of a nod or a bow. Sort of. ]

His name's Anil. He's an AI unit. Every Guardian has one, and only one, exclusively.

[She puts up a hand in greeting, a little awkwardly. How does one greet an AI?]

[Then she looks back to Jayden.]

I'm guessing weird magical water means we don't have to worry about his circuits getting ruined or anything? If he even runs on electricity.

Anil, [ She nods-- ] that's Opal.

[ That greeting works~ He bobs in place again - clearly he only meant to do it a little, but the water makes it a bit, uhm, more. And for a second, he looks off-balance! But he figures it out. ]

Hello, Opal. You have a nice name.

[ ... Jayden shrugs. At least he hasn't said anything weird(er??) or embarrassing yet. ]

Looks like it, yeah. I mean, he's a little waterproof anyway. But all the way down here? In normal water? Don't know how I'd feel about that.

[ She's still smiling. This must be a lifetime record. ]

[She glances back at Jayden, then, with a nod.]

Yeah. We should probably head back anyways, just in case. [She pauses for a moment, suddenly realizing—] Oh my god, you're smiling.

I did! According to ancient records, it's a name derived from the Hindu god of wind. While I don't have any particular affiliation to wind or Hinduism, I do like the name.

... Nerd.
