can a fairy fly underwater??
Who: A well-balanced party- AKA Kirito, Asuna, Nightingale, Opal, Jayden, and Nami
Broadcast: N/A
Action: One of the underwater ruins
When: During this month!
[At some point after getting Nightingale to stop screaming, a proper party is assembled! They've got everything: tanks, mages, DPS, puzzle-solvers! This whole dungeon crawl should be a cinch, right? It's not like any of them have a tendency to attract bad luck or sudden disaster.
H e h. Good luck, nerds.]

TREASURES
Re: TREASURES
... It's just a fucking Pokeball. Straight-up a Pokeball. So it's probably weird that Nightingale suddenly looks like she might cry.]
... We- We need to get somewhere above water, right away.

Want to grab first dibs?

Thanks, but no. If something pops out, you're better equipped to retaliate.
[It's only a joke. Maybe.]

[He gestures his sword a bit helplessly - easier to react to danger when your head isn't stuck in a chest? - but he shrugs and sheaths it anyway. It's not like it matters who does what when she's just as capable of watching his back as he is at watching hers.]
Knowing my luck, it'll be something pointless, but at least the trip was fun.
no subject
Oh come on, it'll still be something familiar to you, right? [She chuckles and nudges him.]
Go on.

[He's kind of torn, admittedly- the last time he'd gotten something from home had been the Nerve Gear, and that had caused plenty of mixed emotions, both good and bad. He's gotten used to seeing it on a shelf in his room the way he used to back home, but it's still hard to really say how he feels about it.
Still, the nudge and her smile is encouragement enough, so he wanders up to the chest and tentatively lifts the lid. Then- immediately freezes, eyes going stark wide in shock. All he can do is stare.]
Wh... what...? No way...
no subject
[Her previously jovial attitude is quickly replaced by concern-- a special kind just for him. Asuna places her hand on the hilt of her rapier and takes a hesitant step forward, ready to react to whatever it might be.]
Hey, tell me.
no subject
Asuna, this is...

Her turn to find out. She cracks open the lid, waits for the light to die down... ]
Oh! Finally! That was very uncomfortable. Underwater, and in a box...
[ ... ... ...
Jayden practically shoves the lid the rest of the way open, reaches in, and scoops out what looks like a softball-sized blue mechanical spike-ball. She holds it in her palms for a second, and then it seems to shake itself off before floating on its own in front of her. ]
... My Ghost!!
[ This is definitely the most surprised she has ever sounded in the entire time she's been in the fleet. Savor it. ]
no subject
[That's all she's got. She's definitely staring at it, though.]
no subject
Don't do that. Anyway it would probably just float away in the water.
[ Jayden can't keep herself from smiling. She really did miss the little guy, and now that he's back, she does feel a tiny bit better about some things. Meanwhile, the Ghost is staring right back at Opal, and tilts forward for a second - like an approximation of a nod or a bow. Sort of. ]
His name's Anil. He's an AI unit. Every Guardian has one, and only one, exclusively.
no subject
Um... Hi.
[Then she looks back to Jayden.]
I'm guessing weird magical water means we don't have to worry about his circuits getting ruined or anything? If he even runs on electricity.
no subject
[ That greeting works~ He bobs in place again - clearly he only meant to do it a little, but the water makes it a bit, uhm, more. And for a second, he looks off-balance! But he figures it out. ]
Hello, Opal. You have a nice name.
[ ... Jayden shrugs. At least he hasn't said anything weird(er??) or embarrassing yet. ]
Looks like it, yeah. I mean, he's a little waterproof anyway. But all the way down here? In normal water? Don't know how I'd feel about that.
[ She's still smiling. This must be a lifetime record. ]
no subject
[She glances back at Jayden, then, with a nod.]
Yeah. We should probably head back anyways, just in case. [She pauses for a moment, suddenly realizing—] Oh my god, you're smiling.
no subject
... Nerd.
[ It's fond teasing, though. ... Also no, no you did not see that fjdskl see, now she's glaring! That totally helps. ]
Am not. Hush.
no subject
Within seconds, a cat is swimming out of the enclosed space... And almost right past Opal, who's too surprised for a few moments to stop it from trying to escape.]
Mozart?
[What a nerdy name!! Regardless, she's letting the lid of the chest drop immediately so she can reach out to grab the kitten. It really does not look pleased to be here in this watery abyss.]
no subject
[but a cat underwater
it's going to claw the shit out of us isn't it]
no subject
which is why she's putting her in a barrier]
It's been, like, a year... This is so weird.
no subject
Yeah, I... I can't say I ever expected this.
no subject
Oh my god, look at him. I missed him so much.
[she says, as the cat absolutely loses it's shit held inside the barrier.]
no subject
[she was expecting it to be like, something electronic that got fried under the water or something.
but also she is just hoping her fox gets along with mozart.]
We should probably get him back to the ship as soon as possible though.

Is that a kitten?!
no subject
[look at this furious cat wriggle around.]
I haven't seen him for, like, a year. Oh my god.
no subject
[ The poor thing. fdjksl Though a tiny part of her is amused at the ferociousness, admittedly. ]
At least he's safe? Wet, but... safe. [ Beat. ] We should go. Probably. Fast.
