let's just ramp up that confusion
Who: Ezri Dax
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action:N/A unless you're on he Marsiva
When: Now
[It's starts with a young woman rolling off the bed, short hair messy and a starfleet uniform, if you'll recognize the style uniform she wears, a bit wrinkled. And, if anyone has met one, her Trill spots are very noticeable right now. She's fairly groggy yet as she wakes up and pulls herself to her feet.]
Hello? [Where... is she?] Julian? Ben? ... Kira? [Anyone?
Give her a few moments, she eventually realizes she's broadcasting.]
Hello, I'm Curz- Emon- uh... [Ughh, she rubs at her eyes and ruffles at her hair, trying to fully wake herself up.] I'm Dax. Ezri Dax, Lieutenant Junior Grade, I'm the counselor on Deep Space Nine in orbit of Bajor.

Action on the Marsiva
If he's not going to say 'hello' though, she certainly will.]
Hi there. I don't suppose you know much of what's going on?

Hello. [Good, first contact made. He never knows if bounding up to someone else who's new to a universe is the friendly thing to do or the alarming thing, so he finds it best to wait to be acknowledged.] Eh... not so much, no.
You're a Starfleet officer, yes? Twenty-fourth century?
no subject
You're familiar with it! I am, yes. Lieutenant Dax, at your service.

Chekov... [Hang on, digging through some of her memories. She knows that name and not just from history.] We never met- I mean, you and Dax never met- but you're from around Audrid and Torias' time, I think? The Enterprise, right?
no subject
[He's used to having his name recognized, but this is new.] I have never heard of Audrid or Torias, but yes, I was stationed on the Enterprise under Captain Kirk until very recently. [Wait, he knows why the name Dax sounds familiar.] Captain Janeway mentioned a Dax... a symbiont. You're the same Dax?
no subject
[She has to keep in mind, other realities. Time travel. Jadzia had experienced them before.] So she probably knew Jadzia or Curzon. Yes, I am the same Dax though.
no subject
I'm not sure... we were discussing the concept as it relates to individual identity more than Dax specifically. Ah--I promise not to bother you with many existential questions, at least not so soon.
no subject
You wouldn't bother me too much though. I do appreciate that though, give us both a chance to settle. My identity crisis will be around for a few years probably.
no subject
Why are you having an identity crisis? Is it a common side effect of being a host? [a beat] Those are rude questions, there's no need to answer them.
no subject
It's not rude, it's okay. [okay maybe it is a little? But Ezri also can't hide it too well.] It is sometimes but most Trill spend years preparing to be joined and hoping to be selected. I never wanted to be joined and got a fifteen minute lecture from the ships surgeon before it happened. And he wasn't even a Trill.
no subject
I'm sorry, Ezri. That is not enough time for any significant life change, even the kind that don't threaten identity.
no subject
[She gives a tired little smile.] No but it was my choice. The captain said she wouldn't order me, I had to decide. I chose Dax.
no subject
Regardless... [Since she's fine with it, though, he has no reason to not be.] I hope that Dax is appreciative.
no subject
[And she is. The idea had terrified her before joining, the possibility of losing who she is as a person, but now? It's kind of nice having experiences like Dax's to draw on.] I think it is.
no subject
Good... and if you think that it would be helpful to talk about this existential crisis ever, I can listen. Not that you would know by how much I have been talking, but I promise I can.
no subject
I'll remember that. I don't know how much talking will help but it'll be good to have someone to talk to if I ever get lost in someones memories, remind me who I am.
no subject
Ezri... may I ask how old you are? You don't need to tell me--please ignore me if I annoy you, I wouldn't take offense--but you seem young for a lieutenant. [Not that he should be accusing anyone of being young.]
