Who: Piper and You!
Broadcast: Fleet-Wide
Action: Starstruck
When: Shortly after the shuffle
[BROADCAST »
Have you ever seen a lady wearing ungodly amounts of purple? No? Well, you are now and that outfit can only be said to be designed by emo teenagers-- but at least she got rid of the most offensive items a long time ago. Though she doesn't seem to really care about that, but she does look pretty well annoyed. And for good reason.]
Very funny.
[It's not said directly to the communicator because, if there's one thing you learn after a while in her life: When people suddenly kidnap you somewhere they're usually not far away to laugh at you as you panic. This went for what she remembered of her old life and just about everything that happened in the Black Woods. It's really difficult to panic under those circumstances. You just get angry instead.]
I swear if you touched those kids I will find you. Don't think I won't.
[Because she'd been looking for them what little time she was on the Marivsa because usually in situations like this... Well, she was trying not to think about it but being shuffled no more than 24 hours later does not do for one's ire. But that's all she says for the moment.]
[MINGLE FOR STARSTRUCK »
How's it going for you guys? There's the new lady around now, at least, but maybe that's not very helpful. Since she's kind of not all there-- but for different reasons than probably expected. You're not trying to take your augments out again, are you?
It seems you might have some to catch up on for now. Or maybe you just want to stop the new lady from looking through the food supplies. Because that's a thing, too.]

video;
Piper?
video;
Is that supposed to be me?
video;
Uh. Yeah. You're Piper. Piper Halliwell, oldest sister of three? Any of this ringing... any sort of bells?
video;
Actually, I remember four sisters. Prue, Phoebe, and Paige. [ But she hasn't gotten the 'Prue dies' yet and tries to avoid thinking about the implications. A lot. ] My name, though? Nah, there's not many bells to ring there.
video;
Right. No, that's... right. It's just—complicated. [ MOVING THE FUCK ON. He narrows his eyes at the screen. ] No bells. Why are there no bells?
video;
video forever; i'm lazy.

...Piper? What kids are you talking about?
video
There's that name again.[ A pause. ]You wouldn't know them, I take it. Amethyst. Long story.
video
Well, it's your name. Unless you're not Piper. Can you blow things up like this? [And he does the hand motion as if that'd help.]
Okay, so not Wyatt, that's good at least. That the reason you're very...purple?
Re: video
Well, it sounds more likely than Peregrine, at least. Shall we give it a try?
[ That might be a yes. Since she does know of it and regained it, but she doesn't have much control over it yet again. Which is why she puts her hands down once more. Let's not blow a wall through out of space.
At least there's that familiar flash of concern at the name Wyatt, and then she lets out a breath.
]
An unfortunate side-efect.

I think you'd make your crew very upset if you blew a hole in the ship your first day there. Peregrine does at least fit the theme your family seemed to have going. Prue, Phoebe, Paige, Patty, Penny. You'd think you would have run out of names by now.
[There was a look of confusion before things seemed to click into place.]
Amnesia? Then you don't know who I am, do you?

action
If you're rummaging for something edible, I'm afraid you're out of luck. Felix tries his best, but... [He shrugs, sidling up next to her to pilfer through a set of cabinets.] ... no man can work miracles.
[He grabs a chunk of... food cube.... and leans against the counter.] You're the new one, right?
action
Still, she pulls back promptly away and takes a few steps as well. More eyeing the man than anything. ]
Sorry, who?[ She huffs, disagreeably, carefully moving to brush a strand of hair back. ] Oh, I could work miracles if the stuff that's here was actual food.
[ She really can't help but be offended by food cubes. ] I suppose. And who are you?
no subject
[Tilting his head towards her, he gives her his best disarming smile before pulling out a knife from some drawer. He uses it to slice the cube into tolerable segments.]
There is actual food, by the way. Or something close to it. Canned vegetables, some flour and sugar. Godawful cans of... something that wants to be meat. [He pops a piece of the cube into his mouth, pointing with the knife at a cupboard over her shoulder.] It's all in there. You're welcome to try and concoct something from it, although I might steal the bits and pieces. To taste test, of course. Can't risk poison.
[Cue the awkward chuckle and then-a beat. Maybe he shouldn't say things like that around a newbie.] ... That's a joke. It's not actually poisoned.
no subject
[ Her face remains neutral if only since she's decided attempting a smile would look awkward with the way she's feeling right now-- which it would. But she gives a slight tilt of her head at his words. Well, at least there was some real food here-- small graces-- but not much she cared to work with and maybe that would have to change. No, it definitely did.
Still, she arches her brow at his last comment before saying in her own right: ]
They sound like poison. You'd think they'd be more amused by someone nearly lighting their spaceship on fire by cooking something than half-hearted food like that. But I wouldn't call any of that proper food, really.
no subject
As for Felix, I'm afraid it's another mystery. He cooks decent enough that it wouldn't be outlandish but... [He shrugs.] Honestly, I'd welcome another chef. Especially someone so outraged by ingredients. [Another small smile tipped her way. Then he's popping another sliver into his mouth.]
... You're not seriously going to set the ship on fire, are you?

she speaks very softly.]
What's this about kids...?
video
Just some kids who don't need any more things happening to them for a while.
video
[she's not 100% sure how to respond. but... she fidgets with the ends of her hair, a little.]
I hope they aren't here, then. I mean--not that it's good that you're here, either. Unless it is? ...I don't know...
video
[ It's okay, she doesn't expect people to understand and it's not like she's going to say exactly what she knows those kids do. Because personal business. ]
I don't know yet, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. Who are you?
video
Um, my name's Krista. I'm captain of the SS Bishop, here in the fleet.
