[The message gets sent out fairly late at night, once she's absolutely sure. She's known about Kaito for a few weeks, but she wasn't inclined to notify everyone when it was just him departing. Now, though... In some ways, it cuts deeper when she realizes who else has left.]

if anyone was friends or whatever with aoko nakamori or kaito kuroba, they both left the fleet at some point. guess it makes sense they'd both take off within a few weeks of each other, they were kind of a package deal.

anyways, that's all i really had to say. sorry for the bad news.

It's kinda sorta almost peanut butter. It's better than it sounds. [ opening up an arm to offer a hug, if she's interested. ]

[She hesitates for a moment, but after a beat she moves forward to take that offered hug, taking a step back just as quickly.]

[She nods, glancing away for a moment.]

Sure. [ he nods ] Whatever you wanna do, I'm in.

[She starts walking, then, heading towards the kitchen.]

Where'd you manage to find ice cream, anyways?

[ he follows along ]

Ice cream maker and lab produced substitute ingredients were Hank and Cisco's first projects. [ he helped, but back then he was focused on the sun generator so he didn't help much. ] It's over on the Blameless, I steal some occasionally.

Nice. I'll have to make it a point to do the same eventually.

[Once they reach the kitchen, she takes a seat at the table, elbows propped on the surface and her chin held in a hand.]

[ it's not his kitchen but he'll help himself to the spoons anyway, putting one down in front of her before sitting down and opening up the ice cream container, which he leaves between them, for the moment untouched. ]

[She dips the spoon in as he opens the container, popping in a mouthful.]

Ooh, I like it.

It changes depending on what supplies we can get from the current planet. The default's just kind of...sugary.

[ he smiles, dipping his own spoon in ]

Don't knock sugary. I mean, I'm sure this is better than the default, but.

Sugar and caffeine's basically what I got coursing through my veins.

[She reaches forward to take another spoonful.]

Don't worry mom, dad keeps me in good shape.

[ dad being jim and the shape being exercise, he did have some major nutritional problems for a while there after quitting meat and not eating enough protein substitutes, but all these planets have helped balance him out, and now that he's spent a year at home eating everything in his mind, well, things will get easier when they don't have enough variety. ]

[She makes a small noise of amusement and rolls her eyes.]

Ugh, don't call me that, I might vomit in my mouth a little.

[ he laughs, but yeah it's weird for him to say, his mom didn't care much for his diet when she upped and left him. ]

Don't waste the ice cream.

[as usual, her lips quirk up into a smile upon hearing him say that, though she hides it by taking another spoonful of ice cream.

it does make her curious, though. she realizes that she doesn't know much about his home life. aliens and portals, sure, but not much that's more personal than that.]

Did you have any siblings back home, Winn?

[ oh..probably not where they should be going when he's trying to cheer her up, but okay. he's letting her call the shots today (like he doesn't always). ]

Only child. I mean, I had foster siblings, but they never really liked me and we didn't keep in touch, so I'm not counting them.

[She doesn't seem upset by the news, necessarily, but she does look sympathetic.]

Other kids your parents took in, or was it the other way around?

Other way around. Dad went to jail, mom bailed, the country song writes itself.
