[ New ship means exploration for Yuri. And exploration means touching everything within site, sorry Bishop peeps. The wires, the buttons . . . okay, maybe not the buttons but Yuri debates on this strongly. Right now, he's eyeing the sea serpent head with mingled amusement and judgement. ]

Looks like something I killed back in the day.

[ Otherwise, he's in the kitchen, pursing his lips as he checks the inventory. And makes faces at the paste. ]

It is a trophy from the last planet we were forced to visit.

[Don't mind the giant four-armed alien making her way into the cargo hold. She's far more used to wearing her armor than not, and at least her body language provides enough clues that she isn't coming here to fight.]

The beast refused to accept defeat and fought with all it could muster- it is only fitting I give it a place of honor.

[And since her quarters provided barely enough room for her, the cargo hold was naturally the next choice.]

[ Well, there's something you don't see every day. Though compared to the Entelexeia, she looks normal enough. ]

He existed. Once you've been forced to eat the disgusting excuse for food this ship has to offer, you will understand.

[Look there's nothing natural about that protein paste stuff okay. Looma, and any sensible being, needs to eat something that you can tell has come from a living organism.]

Now, now. It's too early to be insulting my cooking.

[ Yuri is not sure he's keen on this concept of killing something for existing, but he doesn't have room to talk. ]

I have yet to insult your cooking.

The only thing I am insulting is the food gel.

[Tetramands are not known for their sense of humor. Looma is no exception.]

Then you should be grateful. Because thanks to this creature, you have plenty of real food to work with!

[Even though Looma's caloric intake alone that's probably going to net him like a week, tops.]

I can't say I'm well-versed with cooking monstrous sea serpents.

If you are interested in anything beyond that, I would advise speaking to the rest of the crew.

Speaking of the crew . . . who are they exactly?

Aside from myself? Humans.

[So helpful. But she isn't particularly attached to any of them, so what can you do.]

The captain answers to Cersei Lannister, our engineer to Fitz. Communications falls to someone who answers to more than one name, though Sayid seems to be his the preferred one. We have also been granted more recent additions, including one who insists on calling himself Captain.

[And if that tone of voice is any indication, she's not a fan.]

[ A mixed bag of misfits. Yuri can work with that. ]

Two captains, huh? Must make running the ship confusing.

Only one is the real captain. The other is an obnoxious pretender.

[She really doesn't care if that title was accurate before coming here- if they were going by that, she'd be in charge of everyone]

As for me, I lack any official posting. I am Princess Looma Red Wind, and you may consider me responsible for the ship's security. Our official security officer seems to have gone missing, but I am more than capable of dealing with any who would threaten the rest of the crew.

But how come you're missing an actual job? I thought everyone had to be signed up for something.

Apparently it is possible to be given the ridiculously vague "support" position.

[Honestly she spends most of her "on the clock" time trying to figure out what exactly it is she's expected to do.]

Well, maybe you can help me out.

If the food here is as bad as you tell me, maybe you can be my ingredients gatherer.

[John's exploring everything too, when he's not busy reading some books he's dragged off the Iskaulit. Sorry, guys, electricity is still a new and fascinating concept, so if the lights flicker more often than usual? You know who to blame.

When he's not reading, he's probably in the med bay, poking around all the fun new things he gets to learn about. He looks pleased. Doing something with his life that he wants to do, instead of being forced into studying law and other bullshit? Sounds awesome to him, now let's get to studying biology.]

[ Yuri can't help smiling faintly at John's enthusiasm. It reminds him a little of Estelle and her wide-eyed view of the world. ]

Are you sure you should be touching everything?

I figure if it's somethin' I shouldn't be touchin', I'll find out real quick or someone'll yell at me about it. [He shoots a grin at Yuri.] An' no one has so far, so I'm doin' okay.

[ the bishop seems to be a rather popular place for newcomers lately. then again, they seem to keep losing people.

when fitz happens upon this particular newcomer, he seems him touching everything in sight. please no! ]

Please be careful. Don't push any of those buttons and make sure not to pull any of the wires. Actually just don't touch any of it.

Like I said, I'll find out real quick. [So far, he's been relatively safe. And hasn't poked anything that says 'danger' or a red button, even if he's really wanted to.]
