I've been feeling a little left out with all you guys getting presents and fun rumors. Which is why I thought I'd add some of my own. Ahem.

[ Yuri dramatically clears his throat. ]

That should cover it. I guess now I have to do the requisite log off and hiding in my room in shame.

It avoids surprise attacks. Monsters can be stealthy but they can't disguise scent very well.

Well what's the use of having to smell somethin' and then look it up in a book? Seems like the monster could come and attack you while you're lookin' it up.

You don't have to memorize it. That's the whole point of a book. Where a certain monster is going to be, where it lives, its weaknesses . . . that's what it's for.

[He is really, really confused. First, he said he didn't take the book with him, then he said he needed the book??? wtf]

Ugh, whatever. This is why I leave the thinking to someone else and they leave the stabbing shit to me.

[He's pretty sure he just got insulted, but at the same time, he doesn't exactly disagree. He shrugs and then waves a hand dismissively.]

[He frowns and clunks the end of his sheathed sword against his helmet.]

We did sorties almost every day at home - goin' out to fight the Retrograding Army, sometimes runnin' into these huge demon things called Keibiishi. On the water planet, I got to stab a bunch of giant spiny fish and eels.

But in-between it's a whole lotta nothin'.

I'm not surprised. This isn't exactly a gladiator's arena.

[ And the Atroma doesn't seem to be interested in watching their prized actors cut each other up. ]

Ain't askin' to go around killin' the rest of you, but havin' a place to actually spar would be nice.

[He's not that bloodthirsty that he'd go around attacking humans. He knows how fragile human bodies are.]

Why not make one for the big ship? You're probably not the only one with that problem.

[ Certainly Yuri is bound to feel that itch sooner or later. ]

S'not a bad idea, but I gotta get the forge off the ground first. As much as I hate not havin' anything other than that gym thing to fight in, if I don't got somewhere for blacksmiths to work, I'll eventually die here.

Someone's workin' on getting a forge goin' here eventually an' I'm helping 'im because he's promised to be my blacksmith. If I can't get repairs when my sword's damaged, I'll die.

Meh. That's where swords an' people differ I guess. Some swords might be afraid of death, but I've died several times already.

Humans don't see much worth in a sword like me so a lot of my blades were destroyed for scrap or worse.
