Unfortunately, they were all here when I was recruited, so it's still hard to tell if any are out of place.

[Her brows furrow in a little show of distaste.] That's another thing I told the man in charge-- plan your security more than twelve hours ahead of time. It's shameful.

I don't think everyone is as security-oriented as you.

[sylphid]

If they're in the sort of place, they should be...

[The guy probably didn't like getting that sort of advice from a short teenage girl, let's be real.]

[evervigilante]

Maybe. But that kind of mind-set can get tiring.

[ And it's not easy to maintain, especially from civilians. ]

[sylphid]

It doesn't have to.

[Her voice has lost its previous edge.]

But maybe I'm in no position to say that.

You've got a position. But both are valid.

[ Yuri can easily see it both ways. He's lived on the edge of a sword and he's lived easy. Those positions give him clarity. ]

I'm afraid to ask how much you're collecting.

[ He runs a hand through his hair, his gaze flitting back and forth. He's not paranoid, but he's always been good at assessing his surroundings. ]

A girl can't give up all her secrets on the first meeting.

[Fie looks around then moves to sit on a nearby rock while the preparations are worked through.]

Do you know how to drive?

Me? No. My technical know-ho is abysmal.

[ Not that he minds. ]

All right. [She gives no further elaboration regarding her question, instead kicking some dirt with the toe of her boot.]

So what did you do back home?

[evervigilante]

Nothing special. I work for a guild called Brave Vesperia. Our boss has us doing jobs all over the world.

[sylphid]

[Well the idea sounds familiar.]

What sort of jobs?

[evervigilante]

We've done a little of everything. Delivery, monster hunting, cleaning . . . The boss asks, we deliver.

[ Their boss is twelve. ]

[sylphid]

Sounds similar to what the bracers do in my world.

[Fie would probably like said boss.]

Bracers?

[sylphid]

Yep. They take on jobs for ordinary citizens-- monster extermination, item gathering, terrain mapping. Different things like that.
