I wonder if there are flamingos on this planet. I've only come into contact with bats.

You're right - I haven't seen any birds at all since I've been here, now that I think about it.

I was hoping we'd see more signs of the symptoms that have dogged us through every planet. This one might not be one of them.

But I am a little relieved to not see any signs of it here, myself.

[ He nods, before turning a gentle smile on her. ]

Thank you for coming with you. How have you been? I heard you had quite the celebration recently.

I may have gotten a little carried away, yes...

[Her smirk hides her embarrassment well, but no doubt he'll still feel it. Truth is, though, Beverly's definition of "carried away" is mostly harmless.]

However, I can't get drunk. More accurately, I can remove any after-effects alcohol may pose.

I'm curious now, though. If you wanted to get drunk, just to have the experience, could you? Or is your reaction more of an automatic thing?

[ He purses his lips, turning over the possibility in his mind. ]

I could feel it the same way others do, of course. But my mind is more . . . elastic, in the sense that the effects may not linger.

[ His expression is rueful. ] I've felt people die but it's never shut down my body in any way.

[Her expression softens with sympathy. She thinks of Deanna and Tasha, how it must have felt to sense one of your closest friends just... disappear. Not knowing what to say, she simply takes his hand, knowing he'll understand.]

I certainly used to. Nowadays though, I try not to drink too much.
