[Kitty is late coming back to the Twin Roses where she was supposed to meet up with Winn for the night. There was a very good reason for the hold up which she didn't contact him about because by the time she'd re-obtained her communicator she figured it was better to just get back to him. Plus, you know, just in case anyone was chasing her.

She knocks on her door—to the captain's room—just in case Winn is already in there. She figures he will be, but she phases inside without waiting for an answer.] I have a good explanation!

[ winn is in there - but he only beat her to it but a little while, as evident by the fact he's been caught with his shirt off - trying to change it. with all the pain, he kinda lost track of time, you see; there are colorful marks across his body and his face, that have nothing to do with art and everything to do with fists and painful collisions with walls.

he freezes when she enters, and offers her an awkward smile. ]

Winn! [Eyes widening with alarm as she moves closer, coming close to touching, but not sure where she can do that without hurting him. She pushes her next words to sound more reserved than the initial burst because he's smiling and not exactly passing out on her so she doesn't want to over react. It's a strange place where if this was back home looking like this would be just another day. She'd probably have a sarcastic comment for the person. "Forgot to duck?" But she doesn't live there anymore. She lives in a place where getting roughed up like this is the rarity and on Winn it's not her favorite look.]

What happened?

[ he cringes at the alarm in her voice. it does hurt, but he's gotten used to being roughed up from training with jim. sure, this is more extreme, but not as new and unfamiliar as it was back home, where it's been years since he's taken a punch. ]

It's fine - I'm fine - you should see the other guys. Though, some of it wasn't me, okay most of it wasn't me...I was in a bar fight.

[ will that ever not be weird to say? he doesn't think so. ]

[She looks at him thoughtfully before taking a breath and nodding.] I was in jail. [It doesn't mean they are done talking about this bar fight. Just that he probably deserves some context for her too.]

Okay -- you win. Uh - what happened? Are you okay?

[ that fight was terrifying but he'd rather handle that than jail. ]

Yeah, I'm completely fine. I went along peacefully and let them do the dumb thing and when they stopped looking I just left. I probably can't go back to that asteroid again.

And you said you're fine? Nothing's broken or punctured, right? Do you want me to get Kurt to look you over? [Seeing as he's lab now instead of communications.]

I just feel like I had a really bad workout with an angry Jim, times 12.

[ but he got himself back here all on his own, so it can't be that bad, can it? ]

Did they get your information, prints? They could spread that to the other asteroids - what did you do?

I lied, but they should have a picture. I'm not sure how many of the other asteroids will care about the case of the cursed-too-loudly-in-a-public-area bandit. Does it sound as sexy as I hope?

Pretty much, yeah, honestly. One minute I was drinking by the bar, the next Robb was bumping into me and then everyone was fighting.

[ well, robb's attitude wasn't helping with any of it but he definitely doesn't want to make things awkward with the guy again. been there, done that, over it. ]

It was the bar's bar fight everyone kinda exploded - nobody wanted to listen to reason. Or to anything.

[ he tried to solve it peacefully! it just. so did not work even a little bit. ]

[ cuz he said a lot worse than that at that bar. that's actually scary. she can easily break out - but him? ]

I think it depends on the place and who hears you. [He could call her and if they stop him from doing that then the Atroma will break him out when it's time to move on if she hasn't torn everything apart in the meantime looking for him.]

I think I'll play it safe. [ that could still lead to a long time in an alien prison. going through god knows what. no no. he's so not into this. ]

That's a good plan.

Texting locations it is. Okay. [Kissing him again quickly] I'll be right back with that ice. [And maybe some other supplies. It isn't long before he gets a text.]
