Ah, I doubt that! They are a hardy folk. They would not trust you, this is true, but Hobbits do not trust Big Folk as a general rule anyway - they consider us too noisy and overly fond of causing trouble!

Which I cannot argue with, mind.

Not in the way dwarves are, no - they do not grow beards, as a rule! But their feet are quite hairy, and the soles of their feet are tough so they go barefoot.

Big Folk... (He chuckles, already affectionate towards Hobbits and their ideas in general.) No, I cannot argue either! They are very wise for avoiding us so. The bigger we are, the more noise and fuss we make.

(His eyes widen.) Why they are the perfect creations for Yavanna, are they not?

As to that, I don't know, but it would honestly not surprise me!

Their children must be...very small. (Can he foster a Hobbit baby? Please?)

No, you could not. (He grins.) My only worry is misplacing them!

I don't think you ever misplaced any of us - it was poor Tyelko who had that particular skill!

You were not as small as these Hobbits are bound to be! But, yes, I think it is best Tyelko never had children of his own.

Well, he never lost any of his pets... [ Maglor allows with a laugh ]

He might have been very responsible!

They were valued more by him, I think. (Not that he can hold that against him. Young bear cubs and little wolf pups are rather irresistible.)
