Maybe I'll have to share my good luck, then?
[ It's easy to turn back and look out at the ocean, though, nodding her head. ]
It depends on how we're cooped up. If it's being alone with a book that's one thing, but it feels more like being trapped...
no subject
He faces the ocean as well, though his camera rises almost immediately when he finds something in the motion of the waves he likes and he snaps off several shots. That doesn't mean he isn't listening.]
You feel that way too? I bounce over to the Iskaulit as often as I can. It's not great, but it's got more room, right? Room enough to run, anyway.
no subject
Exactly. Maybe that's why I spend so much time in my garden and in the library. It gives the illusion of freedom.
no subject
He is, if anything, observant. And more than willing to share one of his greatest joys. Lifting the camera from around his neck, he holds it out to her.]
You wanna try?
no subject
The offer makes her pause, though, and she beams, lifting her hands to take it carefully. ]
I probably won't be as good as you. [ But she goes to take a picture of him anyway, because when in Rome. ] I haven't touched a camera in a very long time. The ones in my world take moving photos, you know.
no subject
He doesn't expect her to turn the camera on him, but he's also quick to flash a smile and a wave. He misunderstands what she means.] Oh. This model doesn't have a video setting. My cell phone did though. The quality wasn't very good though.
no subject
Oh, no, I don't mean videos. I mean we take a photo and the print out of it moves, on the newspapers or in a frame.
[ She glances over with a small smile. ]
It's magic.
no subject
Really? That's awesome! I wish mine could do that.
[What would those battle shots look like if they could move? Or the sunsets over Duscae? All those shots of the ocean could have been a single shot of the waves moving.]
no subject
I wish I knew the magic behind it so that I could do it for you. It's not something I ever learned.
[ She was too busy fighting in a war, but... Maybe it wouldn't be so hard to try it out on a few photos... ]
no subject
That's alright. Not like it's your fault or anything.
no subject
[ It's a nice thing to do, she thinks, for someone who's taken the time to be nice to her. It's been a long time since she's expected people to be nice to her as a result of her name or title, so the novelty of it is back - kindness isn't in short supply, true, but it's still welcome. Her fingers brush over the camera gently before she offers it back to Prompto with a smile ]
I think you'd enjoy moving photos.
no subject
[That's ... so nice. And they didn't really know each other, though he'd already decided he liked her and they were going to be friends.]
Will you need my camera? [He takes it back from her, but seems willing to (reluctantly) hand it back if that's what she needs. He has his cell phone. The quality isn't as good, but he could content himself with that, if he had to, for a little while.]
no subject
[ But, clearly, he loved his camera very much and she was loathe to separate them - so, instead, she sits up a little. ]
If we can find one in a shop somewhere that's close to it I could use that instead? As long as I can get the magic right it doesn't matter what camera I use for practice.
no subject
I'm sure we can! There's electronics shops all over the place.
no subject
We could go now, if you'd like?

[He takes a few steps ahead of her, but only so he can turn and walk backwards until she's caught up. There may be a bit of skipping involved.]
no subject
[ At least she has someone to lead her, right now, and she follows after him quite happily. ]
There's just so... Much.

It must be nice if you're used to it. Do you miss your home a lot?
no subject
[He does miss it. He misses the park where he took his runs in the morning. The old grocery with the cheap produce by his house. The arcade with the threadbare carpet and weird smell. Noct's swanky apartment. And he is never going to see any of it again. Not because he's here, on some weird space adventure. Even if he goes home, he will never see any of it again.
His smile feels wobbly, but he clears his throat and points forward.] It, um, should be right up ahead.
no subject
I miss my home too. I'll get to go back, eventually, but it's not the world I was born in. I'm going to lose that one forever, so... I understand about missing it. If you want to talk about it... I - I might not understand completely, but...
[ She's trying. ]
