Um, hello? [Just because she has the augment doesn't mean Shay trusts it completely, and she peers curiously at the video. A smile spreads across her face as she realizes it's working.] Ah! Hello! I am Shay, of Balmera. There are so many here from different worlds! I would be most interested to hear of your homes. I know little of worlds beyond my own and this seems a perfect chance to learn!

[She pauses, her smile fading in thought. She is a little lonely.] I heard rumor of Voltron... I would be most pleased to see you again.

[B - Action aboard the SS Blue Fish.]

[The newest passenger of the Blue Fish is happy to be here, too happy with admiring the stars to think about how far away from home she is. She's perched by a window, long legs drawn to her chest as she looks outside to admire the view. Every now and then, a long fingered hand reaches out to try to catch a passing comet or meteor. She's never seen them so close before, never been this close to space, and she's loving the opportunity.]

[Shay relaxes then, reaching out to give the dog a cautious stroke. The texture makes her smile.] He is so soft! I have never seen a creature like him before.

[More pets! She especially likes those velvety ears.]

You've never seen a dog? They don't have them where you're from?

[The horror. As a Fereldan, Riona cannot fathom a world without dogs. How is that even possible?

Kiter, for this part, lets his tongue roll out of his mouth, panting happily as he gets petted.]

No, there are not many races on Balmera. [She giggles a bit, continuing to pet him.] He is...a dog?

[Well this is a travesty of the highest order. Riona's mouth literally drops for a moment. No dogs? One of life's greatest joys, and nary one to be found in this world?

(Okay, in hindsight, a lot of other worlds they've visited didn't have them either, but most had something reasonably similar).]

Oh you poor thing. What a wretched stroke of luck, to not have them. Yes, he is a dog. Specifically, a mabari. They're prized war hounds in my homeland. This one's name is Kiter.

[Shay is too distracted by the dog to notice the abject shock on Riona's face. She continues to pet Kiter, chuckling and smiling as she does so.]

Kiter. [Shay nods.] Kiter is very friendly!

[Kiter is in doggy bliss. Pets and compliments! This person is great; he's keeping her.

Riona chuckles lowly, taking a seat near Shay.]

He is. Few things make him happier than other people and receiving rubs.

[Now that Kiter's settled and it's established Shay isn't afraid of dogs-]

I'm Riona, the pilot on this ship. I take it you're one of the new crew members?

[Dogs are the best. Shay loves dogs now.]

Yes, I am Shay! It is good to meet you.
