Ugh.

[ Kai’s been…out of it for a while, out of sight and mind in a coma. He’s showered and changed his clothing at least, gotten rid of the layer of dust, but he still looks like he hasn’t had a sufficient amount of coffee for the current day. ]

At least I don’t have any new memories or scars this time around.

Though I guess that means I’m a little short on stories.

[ Not really, since he’d been around for calibrations. Still those were hardly all pleasant, though some of them — like how he got his cat, Newt, were nice enough. ]

Do people have pets here? How’d you get them? [ He remembers Daenerys’ dragon, when he’d first started. ] …Besides the pet rocks. Those are dumb.

Eh ... not sure if it qualifies as a pet really, and it's not exactly finished, but I'm trying to recreate a robotic companion I'd had at home.

Oh POC was very docile. Obviously this little hunk of scrap I'm working on now isn't going to be an exact copy so we'll just have to see, but I'll try to steer away from killer death robot of doom.

The crew gave me those fluff slug beasts, if they count as pets. I personally consider them a vermin on my existence, but I am sure the Tourist crew would see it differently.

That sounds a lot like bullshit, but I'm not sure how to validate such a claim.

It seemed to be quite familiar to the glowing trees - which were themselves in a large greenhouse. I suspect it was where it came from, a world very similar.

Without really answering, here's a video of Saizou - a small pink piglet - staring at the camera before sticking his snout against it, snuffling a few times, and then turning away. The person holding the communicator isn't on screen, although Kai might be able to hear him snickering from off camera as Saizou starts oinking loudly in protest.]

I have two aquatic pets... but I was thinking of getting something else, I don't know. The fish was a prize I won in an arcade game, and... the other one, this slug thing, it's from a pet store. Not too hard to come by. And not too hard to take care of.

[Now there's a dry, rustling sound--shuff shuff shuff--as he dumps some multipurpose pet food into their tank.]

... I, uhm... I haven't been in one of those weird comas, so I don't really know how that works. But I have a couple friends who'd look after them for me, if it came to that. I hope it doesn't come to that.
