I should probably mention I'm awake again since that's what everyone's doing. Who knew so many of us were sleeping together? [Light laughter. Yep. Okay, more serious face now.]

So, I heard what happened, and I don't want to make light of that. I know what losing a planet is like and it's...not great. [Such understatement.] But I also wanted to provide some distraction. [It's what he's best at.] Some fun. Some potential healing? [For himself too. He's still processing what happened to Okita and the others.]

For anyone who is interested—either over the network or by coming into the Space Bar at the Iskaulit—let's play a game I picked up on earth called, I Never. [He may also be correcting what he thought was awkward grammar from someone saying "Never have I ever." Details.]

So, you take turns and say something like, "I never crash landed on Earth." And if you have then you take a drink. [And he does.] Which is usually alcohol, but apparently [apparently, he says] kids don't do that here, so water or whatever is fine too. The objective is to make the other person drink more than you, so you might just get them really hydrated instead of drunk.

It's a good way to get to know someone too, so everyone's welcome even all those people I don't know yet. I'll start.

I never was born on Earth. [He doesn't drink.]

[If you do meet up with him at the Space Bar you'll see he's actually bartending and drinking on the job! But he has superhuman tolerance so there's that. He may even be responsible and switch to club soda if he needs to. He'll offer you a drink even if you're not interested in the game.]

(OOC: Feel free to threadjack if you want in on this concept with someone else too or just to point and laugh. You might want to check with them, but it's cool with me. And if anything goes to a place you don't want it to go just let me know or give me a heads up if there is something to avoid up front. He won't be intentionally hardcore about it.)

[This game is a good idea. The place has been too gloomy of late, and though a group of steadily growing drunk people can easily shift into even gloomier, if they manage to keep the mood up...? Cathartic, man.

She finished shift a short while ago, so Mon-El can take charge of the bar proper while she, uh. Sits on the end of it. Look, she's a cute bookend, okay.]

I'm guessing that'll get half the Fleet. Too bad about the other half. [But hmm, she has to think of an addition to this game.

Really? Never? [He shouldn't be so surprised. He really hadn't before Kara and if you count the years he spent in a space coma he's very old. But why would you count that time?]

I've never dated anyone? [He drinks because this is really just a question.]

[Why are people so surprised by this, she has bigger things on her mind, gosh--]

I'm not sure whether to drink to that or not. How would you define a date?

[He laughs.] Well, Tempest defined it as lovers who don't sleep around with others at the same time. But I don't want to limit you.

That does sound very limiting. I thought dates were generally what you did when you were getting to know someone and working out if there was chemistry.

Which I haven't done, either. But I have gone on dates as a screen for something else, so.

[Nami takes a drink, then taps her empty glass while she counts off the many reasons.]

Dating for diversions, distractions, information gathering, and general belonging stealing. I'm a thief and a pirate, you know.

Are you distracting them or yourself?

Them. [She makes a face, how could you suggest such a thing!!] My distractions definitely don't run to men. No.

[He tilts his head.] Do they run to the ladies?

[WELL THAT WAS A WELL TIMED QUESTION excuse her while she chokes on her drink, stand by.]

Was that a yes?

No! They don't run to anyone!

[The fact that she spends a lot of time thinking various ladies are hot is purely circumstantial!!]

Never fallen in love? With anything? I doubt that. [Kaname drinks.] You should have specified a person.

Not really. You love an object, you fall in love with a person. [I mean if we're gonna get exacting here. That said, Nami grins cheerfully and knocks her drink back anyway.]

You can fall in love with what you do, I think. [Case in point: pirate and singer.]

I've never sailed the high seas.

What, never? You're missing out! [Actually most people here haven't, but honestly. Down the hatch goes another.]

I've never sung for anyone.

I've been on boats, sure, but never around the world. We usually just take planes.

[Chuckling, she drinks.] That was cheap.

Hey, I'm a pirate. Gotta take the easy shot.

Did you like sailing?

[She nods.] It was always a nice time on Ragna. Storms weren't common on the coast we were near.

Says me! It's tradition to get your friends drunk and your enemies drunker.

If you're ever interested, I tend to go sailing on any planet that has a coastline.
