I should probably mention I'm awake again since that's what everyone's doing. Who knew so many of us were sleeping together? [Light laughter. Yep. Okay, more serious face now.]

So, I heard what happened, and I don't want to make light of that. I know what losing a planet is like and it's...not great. [Such understatement.] But I also wanted to provide some distraction. [It's what he's best at.] Some fun. Some potential healing? [For himself too. He's still processing what happened to Okita and the others.]

For anyone who is interested—either over the network or by coming into the Space Bar at the Iskaulit—let's play a game I picked up on earth called, I Never. [He may also be correcting what he thought was awkward grammar from someone saying "Never have I ever." Details.]

So, you take turns and say something like, "I never crash landed on Earth." And if you have then you take a drink. [And he does.] Which is usually alcohol, but apparently [apparently, he says] kids don't do that here, so water or whatever is fine too. The objective is to make the other person drink more than you, so you might just get them really hydrated instead of drunk.

It's a good way to get to know someone too, so everyone's welcome even all those people I don't know yet. I'll start.

I never was born on Earth. [He doesn't drink.]

[If you do meet up with him at the Space Bar you'll see he's actually bartending and drinking on the job! But he has superhuman tolerance so there's that. He may even be responsible and switch to club soda if he needs to. He'll offer you a drink even if you're not interested in the game.]

(OOC: Feel free to threadjack if you want in on this concept with someone else too or just to point and laugh. You might want to check with them, but it's cool with me. And if anything goes to a place you don't want it to go just let me know or give me a heads up if there is something to avoid up front. He won't be intentionally hardcore about it.)

Are. You drinking from unmarked bottles or something?

[ Not that Rokurou hasn't done something like that before, but there really can't be that much disparity between what the drinks look and taste like. ]

[she isn't adventurous usually and prefers to stick with what she knows - but sometimes that also means pointing to a bottle and going "I think it might be that one" based on color alone.

Yeah... guess you got a point there. I mostly drink sake, and there's some subtle differences there, but you could easily look at the stuff and think it's all the same.

[ And then realization hits him. Finally. ]

Oh, the stuff out here probably isn't called the same as back where I'm from, huh? Or it's completely new.

I do not know what sake is. I don't believe I've ever had it.

[she tilts her head with a considering hum, then shrugs a shoulder]

It may be in some places, in others it is a matter of explaining what it is made of to find a similar drink.

[ Well, the sake thing he can fix. He will definitely fix, because there's no one he's gonna let anyone who drinks and associates with him in any sort of manner not know what sake is. He pours out a second bowl for her before motioning to it. ]

Here, sake. At least, it tastes and smells pretty much like sake, but I picked it up around on another planet, so I don't know for sure.

[she glances at the bowl with a curious look, but she's never one to turn down alcohol - and especially not something new that may taste decent. She murmurs a thanks and picks it up]

Space sake, then? [a hint of humor. She gives it a cursory sniff] What is it made of? Normally.

[ Here is Rokurou's time to shine. Or rather, sake's time to shine, if he can sell it right. ]

It's typically made out of fermented rice water- I've heard people call it rice wine before. Seems like there's enough planets around with something similar to rice to keep a stock, which I'm glad for. It's a much smoother drink than some other stuff they've got around usually.

Rice? Really? [at least it piqued her interest. She takes a curious sip of the sake now that she knows what it is, and after a moment gives an approving nod]

Rice is fairly common - or their versions of it, yes. I've seen it when I shop for food on the plants. This is not bad.

[ No really, Rokurou always loves it when people find sake to their tastes. Most everyone on the ship preferred whiskey like Eizen had, and sake's the kind of drink, in his opinion at least, best when shared with other people. ]

It's good enough for me, but I really liked the taste of the one I had before this. Wish I could've stocked up back then.
