You are too kind. [He offers him the bottle. It's a little less than half full of a smooth, clean vodka.] This is from the rock system. I haven't found anything as good since.

[That could absolutely be a possibility.]

Oh? That's a shame. I do not believe we got any for the space bar, either. [He takes a swig,
hmmmm booze- then offers it back.] That is good.

That is a shame. [Pavel takes another swig himself.] I am told that I have a refined palate. If the bar needs someone to seek out quality alcohol on the planets we visit, I would be willing to offer my services.

[It sounds like a joke. He would though.]

I am sure Nami would appreciate that a good deal.

[Fenris will absolutely give him this task to do. He is the Go Get Booze quest giver. ]

I will need to introduce myself to her. [And he'll need to get on this side quest.

He goes back to studying the bottle of vodka. There are a lot of things on his mind, but he isn't sure that Fenris is the right person to foist them off on. Probably not.]

How are you coping with your demotion, now that the captain is awake?

You should, she is a good woman. Well worth getting to know.

[Fenris is a good listener, but pretty terrible at advice and comfort, so it's all a roll of the dice, really. ]

Anyone with a bar is worth getting to know. [Being a good woman is a bonus. Is she pretty? She'd get extra bonuses for being pretty.]

I would be interested in your definition of 'normal,' Fenris.

I have a friend who would likely take that as a personal motto. [She sure is!]

Generally less of planets exploding and the regular levels of interpersonal drama.

Isabela. She was here for a while, though I am not sure if she was around the same time as you.

[He smiles, unsurprised that Fenris isn't into gossip. Pavel acquired a taste for it at home--almost inevitable when stuck on a starship with the same people for several years--but he'll live without it.

Perhaps she will. Though...I would exercise caution. She is a dear friend, but she is very...handsy.

No. It will be deeply unpleasant for the both of us.

You're a good person. Surely Anders will be able to see that once he comes to know you better.

I am determined because I have known him for years. Nothing will ever change. It is ...considerate of you to think that way, but things are as they are. He hates me about as much as I hate him.

Then I'm sorry that you will be forced to endure each other's company. [Even if, in truth, he thinks that any two people can be on at least civil terms given a little time and non-optional space-sharing. Maybe he'll reconsider that opinion if he learns more about their situation.]

And if this is as unpleasant as you predict, I'm sorry for the rest of us as well.

Maybe you won't believe me when I say this, but you were a good captain. The Tourist didn't lose anyone on the planet... that is in part because of you.

[That is...actually good to hear. Especially after Anders' comments on the matter. He smiles, faintly, but it's there. ]
