[Seeing the destruction of the planet has been hard on everyone, but it definitely has a specially bad effect on this particular group. Losing a planet like this is what the pilots fight to avoid, what Shay almost got through. It's incredibly frustrating.

So add that to the fact they aren't all living in the same ship like it happens at home, and well. These little family is some serious need of bonding time. Just making a pile of astroexplorers and letting them bask in each other's comfort.

That's how they end up having a sleepover on the Iskaulit, the lecture hall to be more precise. They push away tables and chairs, scatter all the pillows and blankets they brought from their own ships, and get comfy for a night with friends.

There are snacks (courtesy of Hunk of course), some non-alcoholic drinks (while Shiro wouldn't mind them drinking a bit, he thinks them being kinda down is not a good moment for that) and probably some games that could go funny enough... or an absolute mess when their augments decide to glitch.

Watch out for the pillow fight. Shiro plays to win.]

[It doesn't take much longer. Lance coughs when a feather flies into his mouth, and spits it out. He's growls a little, hitting him harder with his own pillow before it bursts on top of Keith's head as well.]

[tempredmental]

[The initial burst of his own pillow was enough to get a small laugh and, now without a weapon, he had nothing to fight back with. So, he just put up his hands, crossing his arms in defense until the other pillow finally exploded into a cloud of white downy feathers.

He coughed, waving his hand to keep them out his own mouth, but then, like with the food fight, started just laughing.]

[Honestly? He can't keep a straight face after that. Especially when Keith's laughing like this, and both of them are covered in feathers. Lance bursts out laughing as well, harder than he has in a while, and for a little bit, it's enough to make him forget about the depressing thoughts plaguing his mind.]

You look like a chicken, Keefie!

[tempredmental]

So? You do, too- [Wait... what did he call him?]

Keef...fie...?

[the_tailor]

What, you've never had anyone come up with a nickname for you?

[He waves his hands before brushing some feathers out of his own hair.]

[tempredmental]

[Keith frowned a bit. It sounded so... childish. He shook his head.]

That just sounds dumb.

[the_tailor]

Fits you, then.

[He grins up at him, his usual teasing smile.]

[tempredmental]

[Keith frowned, an annoyed look, and then threw the now empty pillow case at Lance's face before sitting up and pulling away.]

Whatever.

[the_tailor]

Keith-- Oh, come on, we were having fun, weren't we? What's with that look again?

[His smile drops into a frown, and he sits up, still plucking feathers out of his hair. Old habits died hard, and it was so difficult to figure out what Keith would take as their usual ribbing and what he'd actually get upset about.]

[tempredmental]

I told you. I don't like being called dumb.

And, for that? I don't like dumb nicknames, either.

[He had issues... Sorry, Lance.]

Right, right... Sorry.

[He grows quiet, scratching absently at his face. Boy, he thinks, he really can't go five minutes without shoving his foot in his mouth, can he?]

[tempredmental]

[Keith sighed.]

Sorry...

[It was mumbled, but Keith felt bad for overreacting like that and kind of wrecking the moment. He pulled his legs up to his chest and looked away.]

[the_tailor]

's not your fault. I knew better.

[He fiddles around with one of the feathers still in his lap, pulling little chunks of it out bit by bit, needing to do something with his hands right now.]

[tempredmental]

I still overreacted...

[Keith twirled one of the feathers between his fingers for a moment, then, after considering it, he tried to lighten the moment by reaching over and sticking it in Lance's hair. Peace offering?]

[the_tailor]

I shouldn't have given you something to react like that to in the first--

[He blinks at the feather suddenly in his hair. Slowly, the corners of his lips start to quirk into a smile again.]

Well, how's it look? Think I can pull off the accessory?

[tempredmental]

Mm...

[Keith stared for a second, pretending to think about it.]

You still look like a ridiculous chicken.

[SMIRK.]

[the_tailor]

[The angry squawk Lance gives at that statement doesn't help his case.]

Yeah, well...!

[He grabs a few feathers, starting to arrange them in Keith's hair. It's easier due to Keith having more hair to use as a base.]

No one's as fowl as you!

[tempredmental]

[Keith gave a startled laugh and ducked, pushing Lance away.]

Hey! No using puns like that on me! Who do you think you are? Hunk?

[the_tailor]

I wish I was! But I guess I'll just do what I do best for now, egg you on!

[Nope. He dives right back in, trying to shove more feathers into Keith's hair.]

[tempredmental]

[Keith came from underneath, wrapping his arms around Lance's middle to grapple him down to the floor and try to pin him.]

[the_tailor]

K-Keith!

[He's laughing even as he's trying to fight back. Keith does successfully pin him, but it doesn't mean that Lance isn't squirming underneath him, trying to push him off or at least reverse your positions.]

Not bad for winging it, but!

[tempredmental]

Oh my god, stop!

[Keith was smiling, though, so he wasn't angry. He just thought they were really bad puns.]

What, a-am I ruffling your feathers too much?

[He grins right back up at him. If he can't push him off of him, then, he's going to try tickling his sides.]

[The change in tactic caught him offguard for a moment, and Keith actually yelped a little, pulling back.]

Hey!

[But, now that he knew to be ready for it, it was going to be hard for Lance to catch him again.]

Aha! You're ticklish, I knew it!

[His hands dart out again, trying to properly slide between Keith's t-shirt and jacket as he tickles his sides.]
