[With the tragedy of Lyuku and the entire Eyuzi system behind the Fleet, the crew of the Blue Fish and their friends are now settling into a new routine while they drift along in the relative safety of space.

As one of the few ships that didn't suffer a loss of crew during their little excursion, the crew can safely go about their duties, unless something attacks that is.]

[Sokka can be found playing around in here- the sound of occasional clanging and banging as he works on the engine, keeping her purring like a kitten. He might even occasionally stop to jot down notes on blueprints, for increasingly insane inventions. Hopefully, most of them won't come to fruition. No one needs an automatic pancake tosser. Absolutely no one. ]


[Cargo Hold]

[After the upgrades have come through, the crew may have noticed their captain looks a little older. Not much of course, but ageing a year in a night is sure noticeable enough. He occasionally pokes at the games here - enjoying his free-play privileges with the pinball machine. Every now and again, though, he moves over to look at the shapeless mass of metal that is totally a statue of Suki, staring at 'her' for a while, before restlessly going back to playing around. ]

[Riona STILL can't tell how that's Suki, and she's long since given up on trying. Nonetheless, she knows what it represents, and it worries her when she keeps catching Sokka stopping and staring at it. The aging hasn't gone unnoticed, and she wonders if the two are connected.

During one moment when he's looking at the statue, Riona comes up from behind and puts a hand on his shoulder and squeezes. She doesn't say anything, just lets him know she's here.]

[It's abstract, she has to squint. He turns and offers her a smile, opting to focus on her for now instead of himself. ]

Hey, Riona. How're you feeling?

[Riona sees your tactic. She does it all the time.]

Doing better. At least I'm out of bed. How about you?

I heard about that. While I'm glad to see those people return... it's a little scary that Atroma's capable of that.

[People back from the dead. Maker, what isn't Atroma capable of?]

Yeah. They did it once before, pretty early on- but none of us were sure if it was a fluke or not.

[He smiles a little.]

But hey, that's one thing I can be glad Atroma can do. Like, there's really not a lot I can say that for, but that's one of them.

[The ageing thing is also one he's glad for, boy howdy. ]

[Riona's a little torn about the matter. On the one hand, yes, it's good to know that if someone gets killed they'll have them back. But on the other hand... it feels like Atroma's violating them. Again. They've robbed the people of the fleet of their right to die. And it smacks of Atroma just caging them in even further. They can't escape them, even in death.

But given that Sokka had friends who had just died, Riona keeps that to herself.]

Definitely no fluke. Guess people dying off would be bad for ratings.

[Wise choice, really. Sokka has his own reservations, but he's just so damn glad they're not gone for good that he can bury them. ]

I don't know, I'd of thought the drama would have been something extra for them to reap the rewards of. Lots of grief.

Cargo Hold

[Since leaving Lyuku, Snow's spent less time "hiding" and is now attempting to spend time with the rest of the crew. It's... going. He's still not good at social, but he's in the cargo hold, exercising a bit when Sokka comes in.

There's something about him that Snow can't place. Since it's not Serah, he isn't watching every detail for changes. It's not until Sokka goes over to stare at the metal... thing that Snow says something.]

What is that thing? It reminds me of a crashed flight bike.

[He is the most sensitive.]

[His attempts at being social are both noted and appraised. Except for that comment, that's just rude. ]

It's a statue of my girlfriend back home. Suki.

[It does not look anything like a human being at all- let alone a human lady. ]

[Look, he's making an effort, but he's not an art critic either. He just knows that thing looks ... not like a person.]

It's tough being separated from those you love. But you should know that since you've been here for a while.

[Of course, he has a lot of tumultuous feelings on the subject as of late. Luckily, he doesn't know Snow enough to dump all of that on him- so lucky escape buddy! ]

It is. Especially when you haven't seen them for a while back home, either.

[That's not offensive, right? Diplomatic? Because, wow, that's not a person at all. No way in hell.]

Yeah, I know what that's like. Been a while since I've seen a lot of people back home myself.

Yeah? It's...weird, isn't it? You miss 'em, but you don't really want them stuck in a place like this, either.

Exactly. You wanna be with them because you like spending time with them, but then they'd be stuck and you'd feel guilty for forcing them in a crap situation at the same time.

So, you end up being alone and hating everything.

I wouldn't say I hate everything but- well, sometimes I just miss home. It's not really any easier there but- I dunno. It's familiar.

[That's not really the problem, though. ]

And then sometimes, I remember I've spent three years of my life here and I guess this has become my new familiar.

[ Since he's still fairly new, Dorian has taken to exploring the ship to be familiar with every detail. Or.. as many details as he cares to know. All of this technology is foreign, but it used to be for lots of people that know the ins-and-outs. When in Orlais, right? The engine room is far too noisy for Dorian's liking, but it sounds like someone is in there, so he takes to snooping.

He happens on Sokka writing something down, Maker knows what. ]

Working on something vitally important?

Oh, I'm just tinkering.

[It looks ridiculous, it really does. ]

It keeps me busy while we're drifting. It gets pretty boring after a while, otherwise.

I can imagine so. Your Captainly duties don't keep you entertained enough?

They do, but they're mostly more laid back duties when we're just floating around. I don't really have to worry about anyone getting in trouble or hurt when we've just got the other ships and the Iskaulit to visit.

[He pauses, then groans. ]

Atroma, if you're listening that was not a hint to make anything dangerous happen. I want a week off.

This crew doesn't strike me as a group of zealous agitators.

[ Then again, he doesn't really know anyone terribly well just yet. ]

Oh, you'd be surprised. Riona is a real firecracker. You have to watch your back with her.

Of that, I have no doubt. She is certainly opinionated.

She is! It's one of the things I love about her. It's why she's my first mate, I know I can always trust her to speak up if she sees a better way of doing things.
