[With the tragedy of Lyuku and the entire Eyuzi system behind the Fleet, the crew of the Blue Fish and their friends are now settling into a new routine while they drift along in the relative safety of space.

As one of the few ships that didn't suffer a loss of crew during their little excursion, the crew can safely go about their duties, unless something attacks that is.]

If money becomes an issue, it can be worked around. I won't pinch your every credit. It's mostly just to spare us all from the gel, and for emergency repairs. [Sadly, they've had to tap into the account in the past for those. Maker willing, they won't have to again.]

Oh, so paying for board then, but... permanently? Hm, odd. [Head tilt] Why not just have your own home then? Build one somewhere? Though I understand that can be a little difficult, but it surely beats having to pay someone every month just for a place to live.

God, um. Only about a hundred reasons, but to name a few- overpopulation, shortage of available land, cost of literally everything involving buying or building houses... wealth inequality... my family's pretty well off but we're far from rich, and the apartment I grew up in cost as much per month as a lot of people earn in a year.

More than 7 billion people, and most of 'em live in clusters, yeah.

[Her homeland has a million people in total. While it's not the largest country in terms of population per square foot, she's reasonably sure nowhere in Thedas has anywhere near that kind of population.]

I know, right? It must sound wild, but that's what happens when most of the world is civil and at peace enough to properly populate. It's not perfect, and we get enough alien invasions to shake things up, but it's a very busy planet.

How long have you been at peace? I don't think the entirety of Thedas has even a fraction of a billion people, let alone seven!

I mean, relative peace. Some parts of the world still have it rough. But it's a big world, and humans have been there doing their thing for a while now.
