Riona Cousland | OTA
[Hello Blue Fish! Your new first mate sends out a broadcast to the crew early on in the month, after they've left Lyuku (and while she's still bedridden).]
Hello everyone. Riona here. Now that we're drifting and we're all more or less stuck on the ship, I wanted to address a few things.
Firstly, I'm glad everyone made it back in one piece from the planet. Which might sound slightly hypocritical, seeing as I'm bedridden thanks to my own misadventures, but I technically came back in one piece and alive, so close enough.
Next, ship finances. As you may have noticed, we keep actual food stocked in the refrigerator and pantry. No gel monstrosities in this kitchen. However, food can be a little expensive, especially when you're feeding a lot of people. In the past, everyone contributed a small amount of credits each month to an account designated solely for the ship. That money was used for ship maintenance and repair, and also food for everyone. With how many of us are now on the ship, I think it's time to reinstate that. I'm maintaining the finances, so I'll handle collecting and maintaining the account. We'd be asking for [Insert a small contribution amount that hopefully wouldn't break the bank for anyone.] If anyone has difficulty contributing, you can speak with me about it. I'll hold off reinstating it until next month, since a lot of you are still new and probably don't have much in the way of credits yet. This isn't a requirement and I'm not gonna kick down your door for the money, but just remember it goes towards something that benefits us all. And you don't have to eat gel.
With that said, you may have also noticed the freezers we have tucked away behind the kitchen. Those are meat freezers. Yes, actual meat. Right now, though, our stores are a little... low. I would avoid using meat if necessary until it can be restocked. [She smiles wryly.] You don't want to be on the ship if that stock runs out. [No one wants to see Sokka go through meat withdrawal.]
And lastly, door art! Feel free to paint or decorate the doors to your room as you see fit. It's a bit of a long standing tradition on the ship, and it helps break up all this monotonous, monochrome metal.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to message me. I'm stuck in my room, so also feel free to visit if you'd like.
B. Action
[As stated in her broadcast, Riona's bedridden for most of the drifting week. Towards the middle of the month, though, she'll start slowly walking around and be seen around the ship. Her arm's in a sling, still broken, but her back wound is healing and making it easier to walk.
Still, she moves gingerly and not all that fast. She spends most of her time either in the kitchen making food - and always offering whatever she's making - or on the bridge, piloting the ship to... well, wherever the Atroma feels like taking them.]

[He lets out a dramatic sigh. ]
I really hope the next star-system has food on it. A market, something to hunt, anything. It's been months.
Video;
[She aims to spare the crew from that.]
As do I. We'll need to keep an eye out. Maybe if we can find one with a sizable selection, we can have a big group meal.
Video;
That'd be great. Especially now we have a good sized crew again. The Blue Fish feels less of a ghost ship these days.

A ish?
She knocks lightly on the door to announce herself before pushing it open just slightly, not wanting to enter without invitation.]
Riona? Could I come in?
no subject
That would be a yes. Please come in. And sorry about the mess.
[There are a few plates and glasses scattered about, along with some clothes. Riona hasn't been up for cleaning yet, sadly.]
no subject
It is understandable. You look as though you are feeling well, though. I am glad.
[She pulls up a chair and sits down, glancing down as it creaks a bit worryingly beneath her very solid body.]

Riona sits up a little straighter, smiling back as she tries to at least straighten up all the crap on her bed.]
I'm getting there. Pain is lessening, though I still can't quite use my arm. [Broken bones suck.] How about you?
