_{[ Kirk appears on the screen, and probably like many people he looks tired and a bit beaten up. Scratches not yet healed on his face, one even covered with a bandage on his cheek, that sort of drawn look around his eyes after all the sleepless nights and the battles and general horridness. A little to pale, perhaps.

Even so, he gives as warm a smile as he can as he begins to speak. ]}

For those of you who might not know, I come from a world called Earth - or at least, one of the versions represented here. On my world, in the country I hail from, we celebrate something known as Thanksgiving roughly around this time of year if I've done my calculations correct. Some people call it Friendsgiving, but it's all the same really.

Essentially, it's a time to a give thanks for the good things in your life, your friends, and your family. In the spirit of that, I've arranged for a gathering at the Melting Pot - a thank you to Jarvis for that. Everyone who wishes to come is welcome.

I just thought we all could use a day, a place, to be together and to just enjoy each other. So I hope to see you there.

_{[ The restaurant is set up to allow as much mingling as possible when people arrive - places to sit, of course, but there's gentle music playing for those who might want to dance and just to give some atmosphere (but not loud enough to stop conversation at all). Food and drink is laid out - things to nibble on rather than the usual feasts associated with a Thanksgiving. Not particularly ideal, but it's what could be managed. Unless, of course, anyone decided to bring something else to add to the spread.

Not a fancy party, to be sure, but it's warm and inviting, which is what Kirk had hoped for. A place for them all to come together and enjoy each other and just be glad they were all there and if not quite completely whole, then, well, able to be there. ]}

[A chuckle.] That's good. I'm happy for you. [And he's not being sarcastic. He actually means it.] So we know I like photography. What do you do?

Professionally? ...Nothing. I was a prince. [Which isn't a secret anymore so there you go!] Although I was in hero training. [These are totally normal occupations you'd think about at a job fair.]

Ahh. I have one of those. He does a lot of sleeping. [Sounds normal to him. Though maybe not job fair-esque.]

You have a prince or a hero in training?

He's a bit of both. More prince than hero, maybe? But I mean, he would definitely run into a flaming building and rescue kittens from trees. Like, totally.

Is there a reason for running into the flaming building? Is someone in there at least?

I thought that was a given. But he'd rescue dogs and cats or possibly birds as well, I'm sure.

Well, even the guy just like me sounds better than me then.

Are you saying you wouldn't rescue helpless furry animals?

No, it's not that. I've just never been as good at jumping directly into harm's way as Kara. I have all these self preservation instincts.

The world I'm from is a wasteland now, so there really isn't anywhere to be the prince of.

[He winces.] Shit. Sorry. I shouldn't have, um... [He certainly didn't pick up any diplomacy skills from all his time hanging out with Ignis.] We lost our kingdom. [Prompto still believes they're going to get it back, because he doesn't know that his world is about to become a nightmare.]

Hey, you didn't know. [It's cool. Really. He looks sympathetic hearing about his kingdom though.] I'm sorry for your loss. What happened?

Still... [He feels bad about it regardless.] I don't know, exactly. We'd been sent out of the city. [Which means the King must have known what was going to happen and arranged for Noctis and his retainers to be long gone before shit hit the fan.] There were supposed to be peace talks, and a treaty signing. But it was a lie. Niflheim invaded, killed the king, and destroyed everything.

[Hey, everyone gets a sad story here. It all works out!] The Niflheim were your enemies? Do they rule your lands now?

Yeah. They're the enemy. [He fingers the band at his wrist with a frown.] Noct's still the king of Lucis, but they're doing their best to take over.

So, he's the king they didn't kill. That's good. You might be able to hold things together. I mean, when you get back.

He's the king who became king when the last king died. We might stand a chance. [He laughs weakly. Four dudes and a car, against the world. What could go wrong?]

Sometimes a chance is all you get and all you need. [Did that sound profound? Should he write it down?]

[Poetic.] Sounds like something out of a video game. [He makes a disgruntled face.] That sucks. The funny man always dies.

I don't like the sound of that. [He can be funny!] How funny do you have to be?
