Scratches not yet healed on his face, one even covered with a bandage on his cheek, that sort of drawn look around his eyes after all the sleepless nights and the battles and general horridness. A little to pale, perhaps.

Even so, he gives as warm a smile as he can as he begins to speak. ]</sub>

For those of you who might not know, I come from a world called Earth - or at least, one of the versions represented here. On my world, in the country I hail from, we celebrate something known as Thanksgiving roughly around this time of year if I've done my calculations correct. Some people call it Friendsgiving, but it's all the same really.

Essentially, it's a time to a give thanks for the good things in your life, your friends, and your family. In the spirit of that, I've arranged for a gathering at the Melting Pot - a thank you to Jarvis for that. Everyone who wishes to come is welcome.

I just thought we all could use a day, a place, to be together and to just enjoy each other. So I hope to see you there.

<sub>[ The restaurant is set up to allow as much mingling as possible when people arrive - places to sit, of course, but there's gentle music playing for those who might want to dance and just to give some atmosphere (but not loud enough to stop conversation at all). Food and drink is laid out - things to nibble on rather than the usual feasts associated with a Thanksgiving. Not particularly ideal, but it's what could be managed. Unless, of course, anyone decided to bring something else to add to the spread.

Not a fancy party, to be sure, but it's warm and inviting, which is what Kirk had hoped for. A place for them all to come together and enjoy each other and just be glad they were all there and if not quite completely whole, then, well, able to be there. ]

<sub>[ He was there early to help set things up of course, to try and make everything as inviting as possible. If this had been the Enterprise he would have done his level best to get a turkey (and fo-turkey for those vegetarians), but he thought he had pulled out a decent enough sort of gathering.

He would have a glass of wine when people begin to arrive, and a bit later on he would start to be found with a few treats here and there, though he never seemed to be partaking of much. He limped as he walked around, having damaged his knee during the siege down on the planet, his hands scratched up too with bandages around a few fingers. The planet had not been very kind to him, it seemed, but he seemed in good cheer despite it.

[Honestly, Jim. As if Cogsworth is going to let something like a feast go by without making sure there's something better to eat. With his robots, the small clock man brings along plate after plate of food - some made of paste, some taken from stores, and of course a nice cake made by the grateful people of the planet.

Cogsworth sniffs, and starts waving his hand to get things Properly Organized.]

[Lumière is busy swanning about, talking to (and mostly flirting with) other people. He does eventually deign to give him friend a little of his attention though. ]

[It's probably unsurprising that Fenris largely keeps to himself here. He's always something of a wallflower at parties, even quiet ones. He prefers to sit quietly, and only speak with those who wish to speak with him. It's...preferable.

It's been a horrible month for everyone, and the elf is no exception. He's learned far too many things about the people he knows here. He's felt relationships fracture and slowly reset- some weaker and some stronger for it. But regardless, it's all a horrible mess, and he knows it's inevitably going to get worse before it gets better. He's realising just how damn tired he is lately.

And so, he sits in a quiet corner, with a glass of wine and occasionally picking at food- avoiding eye contact and conversation as much as he can. Still, he wouldn't be opposed to talking to anyone who came to seek him out. ]

[Felix isn't one to let a wallflower go unattended. Especially Fenris. Though they lack the rapport Felix recalls, he still has the same regard for the elf he once did, and checking in on him at a party is the least he can do.]

[The past few months have not been the greatest. There has been far too much destruction and death in Lumière's opinion- and with that came misery and upset for the Fleet at large. Lumière had felt pretty helpless during it all, he's not exactly in the right form to be of much help when disaster strikes, he'd just get underfoot.

But raising spirits, this he can do. This is something he's good at. While Cogsworth may handle this with military precision, Lumière prefers to flit from person to person, hopping along tables to check up on everyone, trying to keep the mood positive, because by god they all needed it. Telling stories or (probably lewd) jokes, juggling the candles that make up his hands, perhaps even singing a song or two, he does his utmost to cheer everyone up. ]

Now this is a way to unwind, no?

[That was probably directed at you. He'd rather there be more music, maybe something more lavish and loud, but this is Kirk's attempts, and he's not going to railroad over it...too much/. ]

[Felix agrees with this unspoken sentiment but it's something. He seems in good enough cheer by the time Lumiere finds him, though. No real need for cheering up here, except for the occasional longing but fleeting sidelong glance at the dance floor.

It certainly rates among my favorites, though where I couldn't tell you.

Looma Red Wind

[She'd originally intended to skip the festivities, but eventually just the thought of getting away from the Bishop to take her mind off the never-ending list of malfunctions and inoperable systems was too much to resist. Though that wouldn't stop her from trying her best to enter quietly and keep to the sidelines- not that she'd be a good fit at any of the main tables to begin with, given she tended to take up twice as much space as anyone in the fleet.

She'd even gone through the trouble of cleaning up for the occasion. Her armor was still was still covered in too many dings and scorch marks to count, the largest of the latter being a massive one between her left arms and neck. It explained her serious injuries well enough, though she'd taken the time to hide properly dress them for the party. A large surgical pad covered most of the damage to her neck, though given the color of her armor and her own dark red skin, that bright patch of white simultaneously drew the eye to the worst of it. Half her face was still hidden behind a weighted strip of cloth she'd secured under her helm, however- it hid the rest of her injuries from view and was much easier to deal with, so she wasn't about to take any extra measures there for anyone else's sake. The multitude of other injuries were too minor to trifle with though, and the various cuts and puncture marks that covered her arms and legs were on full display. No one would bother putting a bandage on a paper cut, so why should she bother with something equally harmless?

She's not a social butterfly by any stretch of the imagination, but the big bruiser of a princess doesn't say no to company either. She even goes through the motions when it comes time to find more to drink- after spending much of her time in the fleet avoiding anything alcoholic, she's certainly going after the wine now. With just barely enough decorum to drink it from an actual glass, rather than taking entire bottles with her. Fortunately it'd take a copious amount of the stuff before it starts to show, but for the time being it's at least doing a decent job of taking the edge off. The braver souls might want to step in rather than risk that happening, but it might just be safer to keep her occupied some other way.

Preferably some other way that's less morbid than her current plan, which seems to be quietly scrutinizing everyone present and taking note of their own injuries. Anyone who lingers nearby will even earn some light hearted teasing for it.]

[Sokka does eventually make his way over to Looma. Honestly, she's good company, he finds himself enjoying hers more and more recently. She's certainly never boring to spend time with, after all. He gives her a thumbs up, around his beer- still only one functioning arm, after all. ]

[There's a pause, because he's never sure how well she'll take a compliment that's not combat-based. She's still a lady though, right? She'd probably like a compliment.

...Or she'll hit him. She could react that way too. He rolls the dice. ]

Kaidan Alenko

[Kaidan's never been the life of the party kind of guy and that isn't about the change today, nor is that really what his occasion is about. Under the casual atmosphere is a kind of weariness, and he wonders how many people here are still waiting for another fight. Wondering if the battles were truly over...for this system, at least. But he doesn't begrudge the sentiment. Maybe it would give them time to step away from all that had happened and just live.

He's doing his best to do just that by picking over the food table, and this may not be his first visit. He's even left his armor back on the ship and he seems relatively unscathed, thanks in large part to that piece of equipment. He is, however, wearing a small sidearm. Just in case.]

<sub>[ Kirk feels the same way, has the same worries. In the Fleet, one never really knows, and that's the true tragedy of it. That constant being on edge will kill them slower, but kill them nonetheless. At least with this event he hopes to break some of that, to give them all a small respite, even if only for an hour or two.

[Felix misses parties, and while this is a rather sad effort by his standards it's something. He's all dressed up for the occasion in what might be his signature attire - the gaudy red-violet coat and contrasting blue-green waistcoat. A jeweled peacock is pinned to the lapel of the coat and his long hair hangs loose around his shoulders. It looks for all the world like he had not been marooned on a planet of man-eating aliens for a month, but such were the benefits of having Crowley as a lover. Of course, the other half of it is that the normalcy of the gathering helps to settle something in him. The food is less interesting than the company, and he'll make his way through the room with a glass of wine at hand, smiling warmly at everyone he meets.]

Hello...[How it's said varies on the person, but it's usually undeniably friendly]

[He's noticed those longing looks to the dance floor- it would be hard not to. After all, his job was to know what people desired. But this was something he couldn't give him. Crowley, at some point in the evening, gets up, wanders to Kirk's table, then comes back to Felix, a touch smug. ]

You know, it's not a half bad spread. Given it was last minute and everyone is still half-dead from that crappy planet. I'm impressed.

Sayid Jarrah

[Considering that Sayid works here, he's absolutely around for the party. Granted, it wasn't organized by Jarvis specifically, but it's still something he feels the need to attend, in a more professional capacity. He pays attention to the food, just in case it needs augmentation from the Melting Pot kitchen.

It's also a reason to get off his ship. Having been stuck on the planet was harrowing, and even now the Bishop is heavily damaged and not the most pleasant place to be. At least it's in the air again...

He can mostly be found with a drink, sitting down. He'll make conversation with people that he knows, will actually actively approach to ask them how they are. For everyone he doesn't know, at least he's got a friendly, open demeanor. Sayid is a little battered from the attack on the shield generators and the subsequent last skirmishes on the planet, and is bandaged in several places. Still, he exhibits nothing more than a faint weariness.

You might also catch him coming out of the kitchen with food. If it's of his own creation, then it's distinctly Levantine...which maybe doesn't fit the theme of Friendsgiving exactly. Oh well.]

Not because he was displeased with Sayid's creation - it looked delicious - but because he had not intended for any of Jarvis's staff to work. He really had just wanted the space as a pleasant area for everyone to gather, somewhere warm and inviting and as far from that planet as he could manage.

He came over to him, helping to make a space for Sayid to lay out his dish. ]</sub>

You don't have to do that - work, I mean. You should enjoy the party.

[After the ordeal down on the planet, Adalwolfe seems to be trying to turn the party into a singularly raucous affair just to unwind. It might seem a bit forced to those who know him well, but it's pretty easy to overlook when he's teaching the words to a rousing drinking song from Thedas, something about Andraste's Mabari? Even if he's still got a bit of a limp and has to rest more often than not, Hawke is certainly doing all he can to keep the room light and atmosphere fun. Maybe with the help of a lot of wine. Like. A lot.

Look, its been a really hard month.

When he's not half on a table conducting with his fingers, he can be found picking at whatever food isn't made from nutrient pastes and catching up with anyone who wanders over. Or even meeting new people. It's weird to him how the makeup of the Fleet has changed in so little time, but he'll ride along with it. Not much of a choice.]

[Anders was rarely much in the way of social when it came to parties. He could remember one specific party he'd gone to with Wolfe back in Kirkwall, it had promised to actually be fun instead of stuffy, even though it was being hosted by one of the nobility. Anders had turned down the invitation to go at least three separate times in the course of the weeks leading up to the party. Day of, and Hawke was doing that thing he did when he was trying to pretend it was fine but it was painfully obvious to Anders it wasn't.

His love had left for the festivities, intending to meet those of their little group there, most of them riding off an invitation from Varric rather than having any real offer to be there of their own. Anders had spent a solid twenty minutes stubbornly trying not to think about the disappointment in Hawke's face before he'd given in with a colorful string of a curse that a younger him would have been impressed with. In another thirty minutes and the enthusiastic help of Bohdan, he was cleaned up and more elegantly dressed than he could ever remember being.

He'd looked good and from the moment he'd stepped through that door and took one last fortifying breath, he'd breezed through that crowd like they were nothing. It had been nice to remember what he could be and that he could still be it. At least back then he could.

At least, here, he didn't have as much on his mind to weigh his spirits down.

He'd had his fair share of drinks, the self-designated number to make it through social gatherings, and he'd spent the last hour and a half watching Wolfe talk and mingle with every other person in the room. He'd given his love the space and time he'd needed to talk with Fenris and Kirk as he saw fit and then some to have whatever fun he wanted, but now, Anders was feeling...well, not Jealous. Maybe lonely. Maybe attention starved.

Maybe a little Jealous.

And he hadn't had occasion to dance in years, he did miss it.

Anders downed whatever drink he still hand in his hand and strode with unwavering purpose towards the brightest light in the whole room. As soon as he was within reach, whether he'd been spotted or not, Anders' hand fell to Wolfe's shoulder and slip down his arm to catch the other mage's hand and bring it up so the healer could press a series of light kisses along Hawke's palm and wrist.]

I grew impatient watching others speak with you, I've come to take back your attention. And perhaps claim a dance while I'm here?

[Honestly, Felix sometimes has a curmudgeon's instinct to avoid parties altogether. Socializing in large groups really isn't his thing.

But this has been a month and the lure of food and alcohol is strong.

He hangs out around the drink and food for a while, where's he's certainly not averse to making conversation. Especially after he's had a bit to drink. Felix doesn't indulge enough to get sloppy but he's definitely.....drinking. Things have been rough. The more he drinks, the more he loosens up. He might even smile more.

Or he's a little further from the food, though probably with a drink still in his hand. Kind of a wallflower, watching people and maybe (just maybe) tapping his foot along with whatever rhythm the music's got going.]

I like it. But it feels like there should be more giving. Giving to friends. Oh! or giving friends? Friend exchange?

[He's only familiar with Thanksgiving from his time at the Garrison; obviously, he'd never celebrated it in Cuba, but they'd had feasts at the Garrison to celebrate the holiday. Either way, it's a holiday, and Lance loves any excuse to celebrate. He makes the closest thing he can to a pie using the ingredients available aboard the Blameless before heading over to the Melting Pot, putting it on the table with the rest of the food.

Lance flits his way around the party, talking to people, eating, dancing a bit (because why not?), and generally merrymaking. After everything that'd gone down lately, he needs to relax. Care to join him?]

Thanksgiving is such an obnoxiously American holiday, but it made for a welcome reprieve after getting more rest on the Bishop. He isn't even as stiff as he was before, although he does still grunt a little when he gets up from or sits down in a seat.

That said, he is making a fine little feast for himself in spite of the limited options. All that use of his powers has made an unprecedented return of his apatie, and it is demanding. With half the party goers new veterans of the planet and the other half helping to deal with the aftermath, he has plenty to enjoy observing from his seat.

Familiar faces and even unfamiliar ones will get a little wave from him in between bites of food and nursing a hearty glass of wine. When in doubt: gorge.]

[After being stuck orbiting a planet full of cannibals for a month and a half, the reprieve is welcomed. The food isn't more than snacks, but it's better than Eleanor's had for awhile. And even if the food leaves something to be desired, the welcoming atmosphere makes up for any shortcomings.]

[Eleanor will spend her time at the party approaching anybody she knows, and even a few people that she doesn't. Regardless of who they are or how they came here, the last month and a half made it clear that everyone would need to work together.]

This is a really nice celebration. As difficult as the last month was, I'm certainly feeling thankful.

[Rose has been making it a point to stay away from as many life-threatening situations as she can, and crash landing last month made that very difficult. To say that it was a stressful situation would be a massive understatement, and she doesn't feel back to her old self yet.]

[She spends most of the party sipping her glass of wine, present but subdued. Her usual barbs are replaced with a much more contemplative expression. Even if she's not going out of her way to start conversations, she is courteous enough tonight to greet anyone she knows.]

[ While Alisaie isn't exactly the type to show up at parties (she much rather be kept apart from the socializing and provide getaway vehicles in case they go sour after all), there was a minuscule chance that Alphinaud might show up so naturally she's here. Not that she's ever been attached to him, but events as of late made her want to make an attempt at being there just in case he needed her.

She's a bit antsy, being in a new place surrounded by unfamiliar faces that she spends most of the time refusing to mingle. Instead she munches on handfuls of snacks and sticks to the walls, taking in the sights of the restaurant and of the inhabitants that have gathered there. A typical wall flower and with how short she is, one that is easy to overlook.

By now she's come to an understanding that she's pretty far from Eorzea and that familiar faces were going to be a rarity. She was quite fortunate to be here with Alphinaud, all things considered--not that she would ever admit to such out loud. Speaking of, where was he? She frets a little and in looking elsewhere, misses just how close she is to walking into someone else. At least she catches herself quick enough as she fumbles back with an awkward step. ]

S-Sorry. [ The apology is muttered and doesn't seem all that sincere, even if she was at fault. ]

[Chekov, fresh off of a stay on the Twin Roses where he did everything in his power to avoid talking, hearing, and thinking about the last planet, shows up ready to... well. Not party, but he's ready to be friendly and share some of the alcohol from his personal stash. It's good stuff.

Although he's on the quiet side initially, the Russian smiles readily and shares drinks even more readily.]


Mid-Party: Morose

[Social drinking turns into something more earnest and Chekov's polite friendliness becomes chatty melancholy. All it takes is close proximity or eye contact to encourage him to strike up a (probably depressing) conversation.

Or maybe he's just staring sullenly into his drink. That is also an option.]

[Chekov is, as a rule, a fairly dignified drinker. He rarely allows himself to reach a point where the filters between his brain and his mouth fail entirely, hugging people seems like a great idea, and tact and emotional control go out the window. But things have been rough, you know? And it's a holiday!

He has the presence of mind to not hug strangers, but friends? Friends are definitely getting a hug. Strangers will have to settle for very sincere offers of alcohol from his personal collection.]

Would you have a drink with me please? Drinking alone is sad and unfortunate and I would prefer to be neither of those.

There are no such holidays on Eos that Lunafreya is aware of -- she's missed a lot in the last twelve years -- and this one... this seems nice, to be surrounded by friends. Besides, she's trying to branch out a bit more. Up until now, she's only really ever had Noctis and Gentiana... and her beloved messenger dogs, of course. She supposes she's had her brother, Ravus, too, but up until recently they just weren't seeing eye to eye and their relationship had become a bit strained.

Which is why she's figured it may be a good idea to socialize just a little better and take this opportunity to get to know her fellow Fleet captives. They are, after all, all stuck together in this situation and she's found she has enjoyed making new friends and strengthening the bonds she already has with some of the people she's met here.

So feel free to come chat with the Oracle, she's sipping wine right now and people watching. Come have a drink with her, or... if you are still injured, she will gladly use her magic to heal your wounds. She's recovered enough from her time down on murder planet to at least do that much. ]

[Kaname has no idea about any Oracle thing, but she does know this woman helped them, and she'd like to thank her properly. Also get to know her a little more.

Luna might see her coming over or not, but she'd definitely notice once Kaname places a slice of pie (flavor to be determined) by her wine glass, fork included. There's a smile on her face and a drink in her other hand.]

[It's only after a decent number of people are present that Kaname arrives, smiling to herself at the turn out. Something about seeing the number of fleeters who also like the idea makes her feel at ease. Her own actions during the final skirmish-- broadcasting her and Freyja's song on to the enemy flagship-- left her in better shape than some. A quick look over the crowd serves as a reminder of that, despite the more jovial feeling. Putting that aside, she moves past one of the snack tables to make her way to the drink bar, grabbing a few pretzels to set the mood.

Once she has a beverage in hand, it looks to be standing room only in that section, so she makes her way from the more crowded area to one more friendly for the recently arrived. She finds a booth to the side and takes a seat. Kaname would like to get a little sustenance in her before making the rounds in search of people she knows. However, anything can happen before that, especially when she's listening to passing conversation and chuckling at whatever might amuse her.]

It's nice to see we're not entirely beaten down in the end.

The people of the Fleet are tough, all in their own ways. It will take more than that to keep us down for very long.

[Big parties aren't generally Fie's thing, not when it consists mostly of strangers. Generally, she'd stay away as expected, not dropping in at all if she could help it. And that'd generally be the end of that.

But there's generally not a planet full of alien cannibals ready to eat anyone who looks at them wrong. Given the recent events, Fie feels a slight draw to drop by and sneak a peek at her friends who show up, just to check on them. Discreetly, of course.

So she makes no effort to be seen, but only a minimal one to be hidden as she weaves through people and stocks up on snacks from time to time. Maybe someone will catch a glimpse of her out of the corner of their eye.]

[Lumière absolutely does catch a glimpse of her, but it helps he's been on the lookout for the people he cares about. After all, he wants them to have a good time, to unwind and collect themselves once more. ]
