[ She'll have literally 0 idea of what she's doing... Mikleo makes it look so easy, but she's sure that it's anything but. ]

Not at all. Sorey was here a little while ago actually, and he didn't know what he was doing, either. It's not too difficult once you learn how to balance.

[not that Mikleo did from the get-go either, but it's probably much easier when it's your own element.]

[aspearing]

I suppose it does seem as though it's a matter of balancing... Then, I'll do my best to learn.

[ She's just going to -- go grab a pair of skates then. ]

[Mikleo waits for her on the edge of the ice, practicing his balance by sliding back and forth, switching one foot to the other. He's still quite the novice, whatever the others might say, but he's certainly taken it. Once she returns, he crouches down to assist with getting the skates laced up properly - good and tight for stability, but not choking - and straightens again, offering a hand out to her.]

It can be hard to stay upright at first, so hold on to me until you get a feel for it.

[aspearing]

[ Pauses for a moment before taking that hand, making a mental note to keep a firm grip once he starts moving. ]

Understood. [ And with a smile in her voice: ] I'm counting on you as my teacher then.

[tsunergy]

I'm sure you'll be a more diligent student than Sorey was. He kept getting distracted by the surroundings.

[that's one way to phrase it, anyway. so the pressure is on, Alisha! impress the seraph.]

For now, we'll just take it slow. Don't walk, just glide your feet over the surface- the blades do most of the work.

[aspearing]

Was he? [ She pauses before smiling slightly. ] ... I'm not surprised. We don't exactly get a chance to see scenery like this often.

[ Well, everything around them is lovely... But, she'll nod her head, looking determined. ]

Understood. Then-- when exactly do I push myself?

Less often than walking- one stroke will carry you a lot further than a step would, since we glide like this.

[He pulls her with him, demonstrating with his own feet how to move.]

Doing this more will help you go faster, but until you know what you're doing that can be dangerous. We'll make sure you know how to stop yourself first.

[They're getting close to the other side of the rink and therefore running out of ice, so he tries to guide her to move with him in a wide circle in order to head in the other direction.]

She wobbles a bit as they turn - her grip on his hand tightening slightly as she regains her balance. She looks to him apologetically. ]

I'd just rather not be responsible for you falling. It's not a fun experience.

[aspearing]

I can imagine. Rather, if it's possible - I'd like to avoid that, as well.

Still, I do have a rather skilled teacher. [ Even if she's not confident in learning quickly, she's confident in Mikleo as a teacher... ]

You're being over-generous. I only just started learning myself, you know.

Hmm... I guess, be mindful of the people around you? It's a little easier for you, since the other skaters can actually see you, but you've still got the responsibility of avoiding a collision. Learning how to turn and weave, to be the master of the direction you're moving... and to stop, of course. And speaking of-

[Since he's guided her around a few times after refusing her before, and is satisfied with her progress, he moves to take her arm, carefully slowing them to a halt. Then he skates back around in front of her, moving in a slow circle.]

Watch my feet, see how I move them. It takes practice, so we'll go slowly.

[Cue demonstration! He shows her a couple of simple ways to slow and stop one's movement on the ice, as you do.]

[ Watching other people... It might be hard if she loses her balance, but that makes her all the more determined to make sure she memorizes how Mikleo moves around the ice. ]

I see-- Like this? [ She tries to mimick the way that Mikleo moves - although, not before stumbling a just a little bit. She catches herself quickly. Really, all that fighting has helped her to move and react quickly. ]

... I suppose I should try more slowly.

[tsunergy]

[Mikleo chuckles quietly, offering his hand out to help her balance herself.]

Might be a wise idea. There's no rush, we have plenty of time.

[aspearing]

That's true, though I'd feel guilty for taking more of your time.

Oh, hardly. I was skating anyway, so now I'm just doing the same as I was before, just with company.

[aspearing]

[ Ah... It does seem like it's a little better with company, too. ]

... I see. Then, please, continue to teach me. I do feel like I'm catching on quickly thanks to your instructions.
