I've heard of a few people finding surprises in the cargo bays of their ships and it seems it's my turn. I wanted to share them - especially for those of us from Thedas.

[He turns then, and shows what he was given. It is a collection of books. He's managed to get them into his room and has them organized by publish date. The first one has the title The Dasher's Men and the last declares itself The Inquisitor Lavellan Story. The only thing stopping this from being a complete collection is the missing copy of Tale of the Champion.]

The nearly complete works of one Varric Tethras. I even have the newest part to Swords and Shields for those of us who like silly romances.

[He smiles in a way that hints he's remembering something fondly.]

I am of course willing to let others borrow them, provided they're treated well. Each one is signed by the author to me and I like having a reminder of home.

[Even more so when the reminder is that somewhere out there his friends actually know him. After a moment, he addresses his shipmates,]

Thank you for everyone on the Wonderduck who helped me get them to my room. They turned out to be rather heavy. Someone needs to tell Varric to write shorter books...

I admit, I am a little curious about your own tale.

[He honestly seems a little surprised by that, for a moment, but then he offers Fenris a bit of a smile.]

Of course, though I'd imagine it's about as accurate as everything he wrote about you.

Oh, of that I have no doubt. Varric has always been something of an expert in flowering the truth. Making it worth more to sell, I expect. Still, I#d like to know about your personal experiences regardless.

Well, I'm still willing to let you borrow the book but if you have questions I'd be happy to answer them.

[wolfuncaged]

[A low chuckle rumbles out of Fenris' chest.]

Oh, I will no doubt have plenty of questions once I have finished reading.

[samahl]

I could bring it to you now, if you like.

[wolfuncaged]

...Certainly, if you do not mind.

[samahl]

Then it's settled. Where should I meet you?

[wolfuncaged]

How about the Space Bar?

[Nice, neutral ground, that. ]

[samahl]

That sounds perfect. I'll meet you there?

[wolfuncaged]

Certainly, I'll see you soon.

[And then some time later, Cyril finds himself at Space Bar with his copy of the book that Varric wrote about him.

When he sees Fenris he smiles and moves closer to him.]

Fancy meeting you here.

[wolfuncaged]

[Fenris offers a small smile of his own, raising a hand in greeting. ]

It's quite the coincidence.

[samahl]

[Oh no, his voice is even better in person. Try not to swoon, Lavellan.]

Almost too good to be true.

I brought the book. Could I trouble you to share a drink or two before you rush off to read my torrid tale?

[wolfuncaged]

[Do your very best now. He gives a soft 'heh' at the comment, before gesturing to a booth out of the way- it's his favourite spot.]

...Sure, why not. I don't see much harm in it.

[samahl]

[Cyril easily takes the booth and orders something light to drink.]

Have you received any gifts in your cargo bay?

[wolfuncaged]

I have, in fact. I have my greatsword- unfortunately it's currently in pieces.

[samahl]

Is that the sword you use to kill slavers?

[Damnit, he promised himself he wouldn't fan boy, and yet here he is... He clears his throat.]

I mean, out of pure curiosity....

[wolfuncaged]

[Gosh Cyril, it's like stars are coming out of your eyes. Fenris doesn't get it. ]

Um...yes. It is the one Hawke gave me. My Hawke...obviously.

[samahl]

[He's just going to pretend he's not a total embarrassment.]

Then it's a shame it's broken.

They do have a forge here, don't they? Could it be repaired?

[wolfuncaged]

We do, but Justice seems to spend some time there. I would rather avoid it as much as I can.

[samahl]

[Cyril pressed his lips together.]

Perhaps someone you trust could deliver it for you?

[wolfuncaged]

...Yes. perhaps that may be the better option.

[samahl]

Or I could do it. [He suggests after a moment, not wanting to just outright imply that Fenris should trust him - they don't really know each other.]

[wolfuncaged]

[There's a pause here, honestly, what other options did he have? Some of his crew, perhaps, but it's not quite the same. They don't understand the gravity of the Blade of Mercy. ]

I...you wouldn't mind?
