But, right, so, some people in the fleet are from earlier that other people in the fleet from the same versh.. version of the same world, right? So then would them changing someone when they get back - or if I guess 'cause who knows - would them changing a big thing then change that thing for the people here from later there? If say... Idunno, I was from before all the stuff and decided not to go to Kirkwall, would other stuff have happened instead of my stuff? Would that change all the... the stuff?

[Maker he needs Varric or Carver to translate his drunkspeech. He's not so far gone that he can't tell he's making the least amount of sense.]

Or if-if... I dunno if I should say that nevermind, but you all get my point, right? Is it set in stone? Or is it like... all these different Thedaseses that everyone is from, they just get made when something else changed so it still happened but the other thing happened too, somehow? Uh.

[He frowns into his mug. These are very murky, complicated thoughts. Clearly he needs to wash them off with more alcohol.]

Were we meant to do things or do things just happen even if we don't do anything? You get what I'm trying to say, right?

I mean. It is a bad idea. Probably. How could you know it would be better? Or, well, I can think of some things I know would be so I'd change them but you know. The other thing.

Magic OR technology, it is generally a very bad idea. The United Earth used it to gain a foothold and caused untold damage on the world. On all the worlds. It's a terrible idea.

Just because it's possible [he does not slur. for emphasis] doesn't mean it should be done. No matter what- we just have to accept things as are they are, and try and make as good a go of it as we can.

I wasn't going to bring that up again ever but its something I would change. It's the only clear thing. Everything else is complicated, like the Chantry or even Patrice. Not Quentin though. That wouldn't be a hard choice. I would smear his innards across the Foundry and laugh before he ever laid a hand on my mother.

[He brings his glass up to his mouth with an unsettlingly dark expression for someone who's usually never so dour.]

[That's all very concerning. Wolfe so rarely shows what he's suffered though the time Fenris has known him- what he KNOWS he'll have suffered because his Hawke did, too. Wolfe always carries it with such a lackadaisical attitude that nothing seems to bother him. Clearly, it does. But it's worrying to see it.

He looks away from the feed for a moment, quiet. When he speaks, his tone is gentle.]

Yours is not the only Thedas in which I attack the group and end up dead. Honestly, it may turn out that me surviving is the rarer option. You are not the only Hawke who had to put an end to me. It wasn't entirely your fault- I truly wish you did not carry it as such a burden.

Though I agree on Quentin. That bastard deserved a much more unpleasant death.

It was and it was those other Hawkes too but there's no point in arguing over it as there's no proof for anyone. I just wanted him to know I would have listened.

[He puts his drink down, taking a sharp breath in a clear effort to master himself but it's an uphill climb through his own sloshed mind.]
