Adalwolfe Hawke | OTA
[Its been a hell of a time since Hawke reawoke in the fleet a few months ago and this is the first blessed sense of normalcy he's had in ages. All of the Justice business, the cannibals before that, and the planetary evacuation before that have taken their toll and at this point Hawke is more than happy to focus on something so much more mundane, like Wintersend gifts.
To that end, he does his usual in habitable systems and finds quite literally every odd job and task he can do for the people of this system. It takes him all over, even to Philias which he's not much of a fan of in general (at least, until he discovers the poles are practically Antivan in their beaches.) though his experience with the Bone Pit's mining operations are at least helpful there. Sort of. At least, he likes to think they are.
In any case, he can be caught on any given planet on any given day, ferrying people and goods from point A to point B either terrestrially or using one of the Tourist's shuttles. He's always got time to spare for anyone who wants his attention though, friend or as of yet unmet. Feel free to flag him down!
Or... well, this stack of boxes is rather tall in his arms and he might just not see you in his path-- look out!!]
B. Philias - The Bone Pit II: Electric Booglaoo
[Not all the of the odd jobs are moving things from place to place for various legitimate and illegitimate enterprise. In fact, sometimes he volunteers to do things that are downright dangerous. Like today, for example, which finds him underground on Philias out of the direct heat but still uncomfortably traversing a mine. The guy who hired him was horrifically unamused that his source of income had all but halted due to "something". He didn't say what, just that Hawke was to delve down under the planet's surface and fix it. Honestly he was a bit rude about it, but Wolfe's used to that sort of thing.
Quests like this require companions though, of course, and so Wolfe of course recruited a friend, an ally, or just someone else from the fleet who needed something to do for a few hours to watch his back, and its them he turns to as the ground starts to slope a bit more steadily downward.]
I don't want to say I hope it's a dragon or a beast of some sort, but blowing off some steam wouldn't hurt, right?
C. Duotera - Get in bitch, we're going shopping
[With all of this spending money securely in his pockets not just from all the drama that constantly plagues people from Thedas (hey, at least they get paid for it) but from all his work as well, Adalwolfe is in a more than excellent position to trawl the merchant stalls and crafter's hall and purchase... basically anything he feels like. Which is always a lovely feeling for a man who grew up poor, especially since he has Wintersend as a reason to shower his friends with gifts quite soon. Not that he needs a reason but whatever.]
Do you think this dress is a flattering cut?
[He holds it up to anyone that he recognizes from the Fleet that may be around. His female friends are the hardest to shop for, by far. Well, some of them. He's fairly certain he can just go with his gut on Marian's gift, sides of the same coin as they are.
Lost in thought, he doesn't realize he's holding the dress up in front of himself as he asks the passerby his question.]
It's a pretty blue, but I don't know...
B
It has been overly quiet lately. It would be nice to let off steam. Besides, we need to kee our skills sharp.
no subject
[Seriously, besides that dragon fight that he'd woefully missed out on on the faction planet and the attack of the slavers, they'd been in more dire situations in a condensed amount of time lately than ever before in the Fleet, at least to Hawke's recollection.]
I just hope it's not giant spiders again. I'm so very finished with giant spiders.
no subject
Maker, I don't think we'll ever be free of giant spiders. No matter where we go, they always turn up somewhere.
no subject
[He's mostly joking, but his hands tighten on his staff.]
I know it's spiders for me, but anything you're particularly hoping its not?
[It's a casual question, but he's earnestly curious. He never had these sort of friendly 'what's your worst superficial fear?' conversations with his own Fenris. Making up for lost time now doesn't seem the worst idea.]
no subject
I do not enjoy it when they toy with our minds, particularly.
[Seeing Danarius wandering around was about least fun as he could imagine. ]

C
He's got a few bags and an interestingly sized box that should be probably outlawed (he's a doting husband, okay?), but he hasn't gotten too out of hand that he needs someone to follow him around. He stops when a voice calls out and he looks over.
And raises an eyebrow.]
The shape does nothing for you. You should get something that will accentuate your hips.
no subject
But he does have a thought on who to ask.]
Actually you're just the person I should be talking to. I need to know what to get Riona for Wintersend, I'm at a loss.
no subject
So, buy her that dress, wolfe. No guarantee she'll wear it more than once to be nice because she favors pants and heavy armor.]
Well... [Alistair looks at the packages he's carrying and manages a sheepish smile.] She likes plays and musicals. And she's got a lot of movies and books. Plus, you can never go wrong with wine.
[Or cheese. It goes well with the wine too.]
no subject
[Hmm....]
Maybe something practical?
[He raises an eyebrow and gives Alistair a wolfish grin.]
Or something for you to enjoy together, possibly?
no subject
Obviously, you don't understand. You can never go wrong with wine. Especially if you give a wide range, like a bottle from multiple vineyards. And a good story is always worth it, even if you have a lot of others.
[That grin, you stop that. Right now. He's had enough comments about his sex life to last a million Blights. But, you know, two can play that game.]
What do you think is in half of these bags?

Riona looks over the dress, lips twitching into a smile.]
Matches your eyes nicely, but I'm not sure about the cut. Makes your shoulders look too broad. [She snickers under her breath; she's being a little shit and she knows it.]
no subject
[He puts it back though. Blue doesn't scream Hermione to him.]
Maker though, could you imagine me in a dress, beard and all? I'd be the belle of your Wintersend ball.
[He snickers, having no intention of actually doing that but the thought is there.]
no subject
[Look it was too good to pas up ok ok]
I don't know if we all could handle that. The collective swoon that would fall over the crowd might send us all to the floor.
[Okay more like to the floor in laughter. Then again, who knows? Maybe Wolfe can rock a dress.]
no subject
[Two ladies he's never seen wear a dress. This is all ridiculous.]
It might be fun to dress up for the party though. Are you going to fancy yourself up for it or is it more of a dressed down affair?
[Maker, he sounds like his mother.]

a
It doesn't take her too long to find Wolfe - it never does, not really, you learn how to keep an eye on the people you care about - and when she does she's stepping around him quickly so she doesn't accidentally trip him up, somehow. ]
Do you need a hand?
no subject
[He hadn't seen her there, and her voice coming out of nowhere so suddenly startles him a bit, causing him to jostle his packages.]
No, I think I've--
[He sways, trying to keep the precarious box on top from tilting off and spilling its contents onto the ground.]
Um, actually. Yes.
no subject
I've got it, don't worry. [ She holds it gently, wondering if she ought to just levitate them for him. ] How much have you bought?!
no subject
[Oh right, she doesn't know what Wintersend is.]
Like your Christmas. Gifts and all.
[His eyes unconsciously flick to one of the boxes she has in her arms.]
General -Philias
He's had to revive someone from a near-heatstroke at least twice.
Of course, right now, he's trying to avoid his own heatstroke. He hadn't brought his snow leopards for this exact reason, they'd surely explode into flames after setting paw on the planet. He's ducked into some shade, as useless as it is, and has the hood he'd had pulled over his head pulled back to release some of the stored up heat. It kept him from burning his horrifically pale skin, but it also meant wearing the damned heavy thing in the first place.
Of course, it's about that time that Wolfe comes out of the building Anders had been hiding by, completely by coincidence. He knew his love was around somewhere in the area, Anders just didn't know he was so close by.
Anders pulled the hood back over his sweaty, tied back, disaster of a ragged mop and stepped back out to meet his champion.]
Fancy running into you, love. Are you doing all right out here?
[Wolfe's helpful habits of wanting to solve everyone's problems were endearing, but Anders was entirely too aware of how much it could take out of his lover. Every person Adalwolfe Hawke helped took a tiny piece with them, even if neither meant it to happen.
no subject
[The exclamation is equal parts delighted and curious. When Hawke had left their room this morning, Anders had been buried in the two more affectionate leopards and asleep as far as Wolfe could tell. He'd given his love a kiss on the temple and took his leave, avoiding the third cub who liked very much to wind her way between his feet as he attempted to walk. He'd hated to leave Anders alone, as always, but to spoil his love utterly rotten for Wintersend he was going to have to make some extra money. A lot of which he already has safely in his pocket. No one likes being on Philias this time of the planetary cycles and so there's plenty of coin to be made in doing everything that no one wants to do.
Wolfe goes over and kisses Anders in welcome, his lips cold with the ambient effect of his magic that instead of misting over from upset he's purposely keeping at a general drop of temperature to keep himself cool. He's still covered head to toe to protect his skin, but at least he's not drowning in his own sweat. Seeing that Anders practically is though, he pulls off a glove and presses a very cool hand to the side of his love's face.]
I'm doing fine, but you look a mess.
no subject
But when Hawke presses his hand to Anders' cheek, the healer almost literally melts into it, his eyes slipping closed in relief as he pressed into the touch.]
I'm fine, but I'm afraid I'm going to need you to stay here and do this the rest of the day now.
[He was exhausted and overheated and still...everything else from his usual mood these days, but being near Wolfe was always a balm he couldn't even begin to describe.]
no subject
My work is never done.
[He eases them under a nearby overhang so at least Anders and his pale complexion is out of the sun. He's got some fetching freckles though, Hawke can't help but notice.]
We could go to one of the poles instead. I hear it's more like Antivan beaches than the Hissing Wastes it is out here.

B
He hadn't really considered himself 'pugnacious' in well over a decade, but he was definitely antsy and itching to do something. He wasn't on house arrest in the fleet, but it damn near felt the same for how little he could actually affect anything.
So, no, he didn't really know what he'd do if it was a dragon of all things, but as long as it wasn't a Maw, he'd be happy.
If it was a Maw, he'd at least get to kill it, even if it wouldn't be 'happy.']
Blowing off some steam would be great.
I have to ask, though, are dragons a common enough thing for you that it's the first thing to come to mind?
[Cause that's weird.]
no subject
[Wolfe chuckles, stepping over a rock in the path.]
The current Age in Thedas is named for them. They were thought to have been extinct but more and more keep popping up in recent years. They're fascinating beasts.
