[Open | Text] So what flavor would you like for your jam(jar)
Who: Shiro and you
Broadcast: Yes, fleet wide
Action: if you want, his workaholic ass will be at the planet's librarydon't tell ulaz
When: like... two days after arriving to the new system
Note: Shiro took Lance and Keith (the three of them being pilots) to check on the rest of the planet and try to find civilization. If you also play a pilot, feel free to assume Shiro recruited them too! Mods said there is only nature and more nature, no other cities, so I didn't see the point of threading that out and we handwaved it. The city is where shit is going down. If an engineer wants to follow his tracker idea you can see the results here. Also feel free to use this post to threadjack if you character wants to discuss information with another!
I'm sure I'm not the only one finding this place too good to be true, am I?
Some other pilots and I took the pods and tried to find other signs of civilization outside the main city, but the rest of the planet is just wilderness. After everything we've learned about terraforming projects and Atroma, I think it'd be wise to get as much information as possible from this planet too. It looks empty, but the library is large, especially the science section, which talks about inspiration for future convenient settlements in different points of the galaxy. There's a news building too - I haven't looked deeply into it but a quick look showed me files just abruptly stop after certain date. It's a lot to go through, so we should synchronize our work: each person could go for a different section to cover more information in the least amount of time. Teamwork can always go a long way.
Has any engineer tried to track the droids? Has the planet talked to any person with the ability to listen? Abandoned cities aren't a new concept but the lack of any signs of life is incredibly eerie.

atroma used us once before to get an AI for them. feeling wary about this whole thing.

Are you talking about the incident with Orfwyn Dreadhorse's mansion or something before that?
no subject
yeah I'm referring to the infiltration with the interceptor fleet. we don't know how much they know. if atroma wants us to find something for them again, I don't feel inclined to cooperate with them. same time, it would be irresponsible not to learn what we can to keep ourselves safe as necessary.
that's why I'm wary. and torn.

I've been going through some news recordings in the media building. I haven't come across anything just yet, but I'll let you know if I do.

Find the adult erotica section yet? [Kidding.]

I haven't touched the fiction section, but in a library this big, you may not be disappointed.

But hey, I can help with the library stuff, and I could sure try to track the droids. Not sure how it would hit after the power surge, if it would knock my tracker offline, but I can try.

The library is huge, so there's work for everyone. We'll be here if you want to a change of scenery.
Also, I spoke to a friend of yours.

Speaking of dinner, that's why Ulaz had arrived at the library. He had been exploring the planet when a certain younger paladin had sought him out, concerned that Shiro was not taking care of himself. Ulaz had long since allowed Shiro off bed rest, but he was still keeping an eye out to make sure that he wasn't pushing himself too much. He had crashed hard before and even the other paladins didn't want to see that again.
So when Keith had told him Shiro wasn't listening to him, Ulaz decided to see for himself. He hadn't decided what - if anything - he was going to do yet, but he wanted to see for himself.
So he walked through the library until he found Shiro, pausing a moment to watch him before he spoke]
Hello, Shiro.

Hello, Ulaz. Have you come to join our little reading group?

He hadn't started putting anything on the pin board, yet, but he'd fully taken over the table, and there might be some notes roughly scrawled on chalkboard that was in the room.
At the sound of footsteps, he pointed over at a book at the far end of the table without looking up to see who it was.]
Can you grab that for me?

If I bring a cactus inside, do you think we'll transform this place into our shack? [Repeat after me: just trying to lighten the mood!]

I hadn't thought to track the droids. I am still taking in the city.
I'm glad to hear there is a library, however. How extensive is the collection?
no subject
Huge. Massive. There definitely was a civilization living here once.
