He was like that before I named him. I guess he's always had a high opinion of himself, considering the dog in question is about three times bigger than him.

And I'm aware that he might be cat-napped, but I can just bring Riona over to stare at Anders and get my companion back. She's rather fierce when she needs to be, you know.

I named him after I saw him like that, so it was sort of.... fitting, I suppose.

Ah, well... I'm not always so good at meeting people. [Specifically people from the same world as Anders, Fenris, and Hawke. There was some disagreement about whether or not it was appropriate to display enemy corpses that really deterred Pavel from seeking out further friendships for a while.] I will try to change that. She sounds very worth meeting.

I'm totally biased, but I think she's pretty worth meeting. And, you know, you can always come over to the Blue Fish if you want. We've got really high ceilings.

I may do that, thank you. [He absolutely means it. Waltzing onto other ships uninvited seems rude, but if he has an open invitation...] You're welcome here, of course. Jarvis frequently cooks for us, so I highly recommend visiting at mealtimes.

That... might be good. I don't think we have a cook on the Blue Fish. Not unless you count the fact that Sokka's pretty good at grilling large pieces of meat.

Well, and Riona and I have some experience with stews.

Both of those do count, and large pieces of meat and stews aren't things that Jarvis prepares often.

Also... it's more than I can be trusted to cook.

To be fair, you could ask a few of the other members of the Blue Fish crew, and they will tell you that they don't count.

Of course, they don't cook either, so it's sort of what you make of it. But, uh, if you're interested in learning what little I know, you can always stop by the ship.
