(no subject)

Who: The burrito of death (aka Tek)
Broadcast: Audio, open to the fleet
Action: Bloodsport cargo hold
When: Broadcast day after the attack - Action open all month

[this one is sent in audio only, because goodness no one needs to see his current face--though, his voice isn't right either. it's too light, too delicate, and there is a little too much purr to it. especially without the aid of a video feed, it's hard to tell whether the speaker is male or female or monster at all.

and the tone is nothing but flat.]

Everyone is safe and accounted for? Nothing is entirely amiss? Wonderful.

[he isn't bitter about no one asking about his absence at all. nope. not one bit.]

So, I guess it's about time to start returning to our old routine, hmm? Everyone ready for things to go back to normal? Especially with such a good distraction from our recent little 'vacation home,' I know I sure am ready to forget about everything that just happened.

[this weapons-grade sarcasm could burn a hole through the floor.]

Especially with all of this new spending cash. ...Have you all checked your accounts today? The bonuses are already rolling in.

Isn't it wonderful.

[this sorry creature feels sickened and infuriated and doesn't have the strength to vent it any other way. so, a pissy broadcast it is!

and for anyone wandering the Red Fish any time soon, he can be found actually sitting up now. still wrapped in blankets and misery, but he's at least upright. it's a step.]

"One of those"? There's no reason to be rude, you know.

If you actually want someone to care about your thoughts, you might want to frame them a little differently, is all I'm saying. Kvetching only gets you so far in life.

What exactly is it you're so chafed about, anyway? We're all kind of in the same boat here, after all.

[Well. Fleet of boats.]

Half the people on these ships are kids, you know? [Hiro, Steven, Nunnally, Krista, Aang... even Sora, Riku, and Kairi are too young to be fighting the war they're fighting, Axel's not interested in adding to the burden. He knows there's more kid he hasn't even met.] And as much as it pisses me off that they've been put in danger because of what's just happened, I can't say I'm for rallying the troops when a good number of them have no business fighting in the first place.

Besides, what would you have us do? [He's not being belligerent, he's just asking.] Don't confuse apathy with patience. Where would you direct your anger right now? At whom? All we have are faceless voices and names, and you expect a revolution? [He taps his temple.] If we're gonna be in the same boat, better not to rock it before we know where the life vests are, got it memorized?

[Axel narrows his eyes a little, then puts a filter on the rest of the conversation.]

You sound like somebody who has some experience with this. Did you actually have something in mind?

I've never had any luck scanning the frequencies for anything from the Marsiva--it's always radio silence--and I haven't had any luck hailing the frequency Diamond and Beau yammer at us on, either. There's no chatter at all, it's... kind of weird.

This whole setup is kind of bizarre, honestly. I mean, a reality TV show? I'm not even sure I believe that, but I can't quite imagine what they'd have us all here for otherwise. They haven't hurt anyone, and they've surely got the opportunity and resources to. They're not exploiting us for labor, they're not making us do anything. So what do they really want?

Even when someone killed another Fleet member, they didn't have anything to say about it. It's almost like they're just... observing us. But what the hell for? If they don't even blink at people being killed, I'm not sure how we can test their patience. They clearly want us to be interesting, but all doing the opposite seems to do is get us less income.

What, like kidnapped and thrown into some bizarre situation all willy nilly? Yeah, first time.

I'm guessing this is leading up to you saying it's happened before?

'Fraid I can't contribute much to this; it's a first for me. One thing I've noticed is that there really doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the people they bring here. Ages, races, height, weight, there's no pattern there. Some of us have some magical ability, some don't; some of us have combat experience, some don't. There are groupings--like there's several of us from the same place and we all have similar abilities, for example--but even within the group, our experience and skill levels vary pretty widely.
