Who: The burrito of death (aka Tek)
Broadcast: Audio, open to the fleet
Action: Bloodsport cargo hold
When: Broadcast day after the attack - Action open all month
[this one is sent in audio only, because goodness no one needs to see his current face--though, his voice isn't right either. it's too light, too delicate, and there is a little too much purr to it. especially without the aid of a video feed, it's hard to tell whether the speaker is male or female or monster at all.
and the tone is nothing but flat.]
Everyone is safe and accounted for? Nothing is entirely amiss? Wonderful.
[he isn't bitter about no one asking about his absence at all. nope. not one bit.]
So, I guess it's about time to start returning to our old routine, hmm? Everyone ready for things to go back to normal? Especially with such a good distraction from our recent little 'vacation home,' I know I sure am ready to forget about everything that just happened.
[this weapons-grade sarcasm could burn a hole through the floor.]
Especially with all of this new spending cash. ...Have you all checked your accounts today? The bonuses are already rolling in.
Isn't it wonderful.
[this sorry creature feels sickened and infuriated and doesn't have the strength to vent it any other way. so, a pissy broadcast it is!
and for anyone wandering the Red Fish any time soon, he can be found actually sitting up now. still wrapped in blankets and misery, but he's at least upright. it's a step.]

[those careless, free-floating layabouts who could hardly raise a care about the situation at large.
...the group he himself subscribed to until very recently, and might very well fall back into once he tires himself out.]
Well, I don't have much opportunity to be aggressive-aggressive, so why not start here?

If you actually want someone to care about your thoughts, you might want to frame them a little differently, is all I'm saying. Kvetching only gets you so far in life.

I gets me plenty of places in life.
And if someone is annoyed by it, that means it's at least on their minds, and that much is fine by me.
[also he's just crabby.]

[Well. Fleet of boats.]

We spend our time picking up the pieces and trying to make ourselves feel better, and it's all forgotten in a week. There's no collective anger, no drive for retribution. It's maddening.
[...also he's really crabby.]

Besides, what would you have us do? [He's not being belligerent, he's just asking.] Don't confuse apathy with patience. Where would you direct your anger right now? At whom? All we have are faceless voices and names, and you expect a revolution? [He taps his temple.] If we're gonna be in the same boat, better not to rock it before we know where the life vests are, got it memorized?

he's calm, almost soft-voiced, by the time he replies.]
...They are faceless, so we need to start learning-- picking things apart in small ways if you don't want to make larger waves. There are all kinds of ways to fight, you know.
And the sooner we start, the better. There are children here, and I doubt those powers-that-be have the same qualms about endangering them that you do.

You sound like somebody who has some experience with this. Did you actually have something in mind?
I've never had any luck scanning the frequencies for anything from the Marsiva--it's always radio silence--and I haven't had any luck hailing the frequency Diamond and Beau yammer at us on, either. There's no chatter at all, it's... kind of weird.

I have been fighting things that refuse to deal face-to-face for a very long time. Though... with very different potential collateral, perhaps.
And yes, it is all very weird. We're not able to reach or detect them with the tools they've given us. So, it is either a clue, or simply more evidence that they have orchestrated everything in order to protect themselves.
So, we have to pick at our cage in ways that they may not be expecting. ...Maybe testing boundaries? Maybe testing the limits of their patience on some things?

Even when someone killed another Fleet member, they didn't have anything to say about it. It's almost like they're just... observing us. But what the hell for? If they don't even blink at people being killed, I'm not sure how we can test their patience. They clearly want us to be interesting, but all doing the opposite seems to do is get us less income.

...Is this the first time that you've been taken from your home like this?
no subject
I'm guessing this is leading up to you saying it's happened before?

A theory of mine is that we can learn about this place by studying the other realms that we've been pulled to and from.

One such potential pattern, is the fact that there are so many passengers that have gone through something like this before. They may not be the majority, but the fact that there are enough of them to notice at all seems like it should be some sort of clue.
