[Shiro loves the physical activities and he's been doing a ton of those... but board games have a soft spot in his heart, too. So he approaches the area while wearing the Starstrikers logo and colors (black and silver, not very different from his usual wardrobe) and smiles when he sees his friend already there.]

Signing up for the board games, Baku? What team are you playing for?

Shiro. [she greets as she glances up, taking her attention away from a game she was intently interested in - well, as intently interested as she gets] I thought it would be fun to sign up, but I haven't joined a team.

It's true, it's been pretty fun. There are all kinds of things to do, I'm still surprised about the board games. [Except for a few awkward moments he's had, he's been having a great time, enough not think much about those said moments.] No team? Can I ask why?

Mmm, I like that there's something for everyone. Not everyone is adept at sports. [she gives him a curious look, like the answer should be obvious] Because I want to cheer for everyone.

So you play easy for your opponents, too? Or that sentiment is only for the cheering?

Only for the cheering. I'm ruthless when it comes to competition.

[she says it so deadpan, yet she's grinning. It's hard to tell if she's serious or not]

[Ok, that gets him to laugh pretty hard. He knows what she truly is, what she hides under the cute girl illusion, but he's still not used to her innocently saying she's ruthless like that.]

I see how it is. I play to win, too. So are we going into this together or against each other?

[wait until he actually sees it - though in friendly competition, it's a little different than from the battlefield]

Whatever you prefer. Either way it'll be fun.

How about this one? I've learned it's very similar to shogi.

[Something he expects her to recognize, hopefully. So yes, they'd be going against each other.]

The organizers re-explain the rules since they notice Shiro and Baku are new, and just like Shiro guessed, it's pretty similar to shogi, so it's easy to get into it. Unlike other board games he plays with friends where is all about the jokes, the bonding and destroying the others with your hidden card, this is more about strategy and concentration. So at the beginning at least, Shiro stays silence as he makes his moves with careful thought... but at least he looks relaxed for a change.]

Baku is as relaxed as she always is, even as the game begins. She's hums to herself when it comes to her turn, and she's just as careful picking her moves. Almost as though she's waiting for Shiro to get the hang of it before she starts playing more seriously]
