[You know what's close to the black market shopping area? The more underground gambling places. It's great fun! Nami finds it great fun, anyway, especially when she can be in her element where she can (a) cheat and (b) casually and innocently use everyone's fervor over these stupid sporting teams against them and turn the whole table into an uproar. Which makes it easier for (a).

Of course there's (c), which is: not everyone is that stupid. None of which really concerns Ben, but is the reason why there's a cheerful voice suddenly issuing out of thin air close to his left.]

I should have asked more questions at the interview, obviously. What was it you did for a living?

[Nami should have absolutely asked more questions. Ben may seem laid back, but the man is a twitchy, paranoid mess outside on his own. He isn't used to powers, or magic, or any of that, especially in his vicinity without warning - so at the sound of Nami's voice, he jerks his head up to look at her - and then jerks back a step, because warning, please]

[Of course, the shopkeeper is now squinting in Ben's general direction because he can't help but notice he's talking to thin air. Which is talking back. So.] Are you almost done here?

Sore losers, eh? That's basically deserving of a swift punch, y'know.

[Ben offers the shopkeeper a big, fake grin when he notices his staring, then gives a little wave and heads for the door] I was just window-shopping, I get most of my stuff over in the not-so-legal shops.

[Nami waves too, though-- well, neither of them can see her do it. But whatever.
She follows him out.]

You scoundrel. [Dryly.] I didn't think you needed stuff that was so black market. Or is it just less branded, there?

It's better quality, too. [the lack of branding - or at least, significantly reduced - was definitely an appeal, too] Won't lie, I hate being it, but it's usually better and it'll do stuff the main street shops won't sell. I do it back home, too.

Don't worry, I judge myself. [he does, it goes against a hell of a lot of what he believes in, but even so, he likes being able to protect himself as well] Dunno yet, mostly just killing time - why? Need a bodyguard?
