Waystation Mingle Log!
Who: GAME-WIDE MINGLE aka everyone
Broadcast: If you want
Action: The Stations!
When: From 04/05 through the month of April.
[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.
Make your own prompts, set up your own Virtual Realities, etc! For reference, the OOC post with info is over here!]

[Beverly still doesn't look totally certain about this, but she'll give it another shot.]
Computer, resume program.
[They find themselves standing on the hull of the Enterprise once again. Beverly waits for Jinx's reaction.]

[Jinx is ready this time, braced for it.
And it's beautiful. She stares around them in wonder, taking it all in. She'd never seen the like, never really imagined it existed this way. It was Beauty and Art.
After staring for a while, Jinx blamed her brightest smile towards the emo lady, and then tried an experimental hop.
Wouldn't it be cool of they could fly in this?]
no subject
Are you from Earth?
no subject
Yup. Earthy as Earth gets. Or. New Yorky as Earth gets, she supposes. It's the best place to be, after all.]
no subject
Can everyone on your Earth move through objects like you do?
no subject
No. No, they don't.
That would be an awful world, wouldn't it. They would have found ways to circumvent her, then.]
no subject
[She definitely would like to know more, but clearly getting Jinx to talk in anything other than a few monosyllables is about as fruitless of an endeavor as getting a Vulcan to laugh. She shrugs. Maybe another time.]
So, do you have a planet you want to see first? Mars? Jupiter maybe?
no subject
Pluto?
[What was all the fuss about? It didn't make any sense.]
no subject
Computer, take us to Pluto!
[The computer obliges, showing the stars and other planets whooshing by at mock-warp speed. In real life, of course, this would mean instant death, so Beverly is enjoying the simulation. The ship soon comes to a halt, and Pluto floats below them, looking tiny and desolate. Beverly has the computer "beam" them to the planet's surface, which, frankly, doesn't look any more exciting up close.]
no subject
Pluto, on the other hand? Jinx looks around, her exuberance waning. She kicks a bit of dust, wanders aimlessly back and forth a couple of time, and finally just stands next to the emo lady.
She doesn't get it. The fuss, it really doesn't make sense. She lifts her brows and siiiiighs.
This is boring.]
no subject
Not very exciting, is it?
[She thinks for a minute.]
How do you feel about ... volcanoes?
no subject
Leady the way! Tally ho!]

Jinx was no one for poetics, but it almost reminded her of something she had heard once from the Boss man during one of his more verbose angers. "Rage, rage against..." something something something.
Whatever. This was cool.]
no subject
Beverly shakes her head slightly and decides to continue her role as tour guide of the solar system.]
This is a popular tourist spot, in my universe, though obviously in real life, [she gestures down to her uniform, which would do nothing to help her survive on the real Io's surface] you have to be dressed a little more protectively.
no subject
Could she touch lava? Would phasing through lava be like phasing through fire? Sometimes it worked, and sometimes it singed her insides. And often it left her damaged and weak. And tired.
She'd been getting a lot more tired here now, actually. Now that she thought of it... strange.]
no subject
Are you feeling okay? Maybe we should go back...
no subject
All right. They can go back. She's just going to take one last, longing look at the volcano and its violent ecstasy before they go.
no subject
Seeing Jinx's confused look, Beverly offers an explanation.]
You were flickering.
no subject
Another shrug by way of answer, and she trudges over to the emo lady. All right then, lets go. All aboard the what-have-you!]
no subject
[She says this without really expecting an answer. That trudge though... giving in a little, she orders the computer to take them in closer to the volcano, which is massive, far larger than any on Earth.]
Seems a shame to come here and not get a little closer look, hmm?
no subject
Nice. Her trudge turns into a hop, skip, and step over flowing lava.
This is totally her new favorite place ever.]
no subject
She shakes her head slightly, to clear her thoughts. They only just met, she shouldn't be making any judgments.
The volcano rumbles ominously and the ground at their feet starts shaking.]
Hmm...
no subject
Especially the danger inherent in standing on an active volcano. they were totally about the be sprayed with lava. And Jinx totally isn't concerned about you or anything, but she is placing her hand on the lady's arm as the rumbles get stronger and the lava flows more quickly.
She probably doesn't even feel much of a change when Jinx makes them a little bit less-than-solid.]
no subject
So when the lava shoots up and conveniently dissipates when it hits them, she merely assumes it's part of the program.]
