( Jean isn't a stranger to space. She isn't a stranger to time travel. She is a stranger to this particular space ship, though, and she's not really sure why she's here or how she got here. It's a pain in the ass, really, considering she just got back from space not even two weeks ago and here she is again, trapped in the limbo of endless black and stars close enough to touch. She'd started on a ship with limited capacity and basically no people and at least she's actually on a ship with people now. It's an improvement - somewhat.

Great. Just peachy.

Maybe this time they can skip the Invasion of the Symbiotes and she'll get to keep control of her own body and mind. It'd be nice, for once, not to have to worry about some alien entity invading her body for the fun of it. )

So, uh, question? What sector of space are we in, exactly? Because I just got back from a stint on Klyntar and let me tell you, it wasn't great. I don't want to go back. So if we're anywhere remotely close by (read: within one million lightyears), I'd like to go ahead and nope out now.

( Maybe this isn't the best way to introduce herself to an entire space fleet but, hey, Jean has never been one to beat around the bush. Being a telepath, she has an idea of how people's brains work and it's given her the overarching sense that she needs to just shoot straight ninety nine percent of the time. What's the point in subtlety? Say what you think, be bold, no regrets. It keeps people from misinterpreting your motives, anyway. )

Anyone got ideas on how I can get back to Earth from here? I don't want it to seem like it's less important than the former, because really, if I'm not anywhere near Klyntar I'm good, but I kind of have a team I need to get back to. I'm Jean Grey and I'm captain of the X-Men.

[It's the voice that gets her long before she hears the name and title. The looks hit her second because the styling of her hair is different even if it's the same vibrant tone of red. The uniform is very different and her face is free of her Jean's most identifying feature—the facial mark. But the face itself? It's still Jean. She's younger though. Maybe so young Jean won't even recognize her. But she also might not recognize her because she's pretty sure this isn't just a younger version of her Jean, but an alternate one. After all, she doesn't remember ever hearing about a mission to Klyntar or knowing of a time when the X-Men used the term captain for the various squad leaders.

But maybe most of all simply because even though Kurt is here she's much more used to seeing other versions of people she knows than the ones she remembers from home. She's seen more than one Wolverine and Kurt as well as Rogue, Storm, Piotr, Pietro, Wanda, Hank, Mystique, Erik and even another version of herself between the fleet and the prison, but this is the first time she's seen Jean since home. And even then it had been awhile. Jean and Logan and gone off on their own while she was still with the X-Men and then after Piotr was hurt Kitty and he went off to train the next generation. And then...she was supposed to die without ever seeing her again, but here they are.

She appears on screen and she isn't sure what to say for a moment. Tongue tied isn't normally her brand.]

Do you recognize me? [That feels like a stupid question. If she knows a version of her she'd have to be pretty young. Would that version of herself even have her powers yet? It's hard to guess Jean's age exactly.]

( Jean is a little tongue-tied herself, mostly because Kitty hadn't been this young when she saw her last. Kitty's a professor now, a responsible person, and Jean flees from responsibility when she gets the chance. She's been told she'll grow into it, of course, but that's not now. )

Yeah, I know you. You're a little younger, though, and less frazzled. Are you a professor yet?

[For a moment the question almost fits. Her last assignment was teaching and training. Emphasis on the training. But "professor" isn't a title she's ever had. And she's younger than usual?. Then again, ages were all messed up in Remy's world too. That Kitty and Kurt are basically the same age and Kurt should be clearly older. So should Rogue. Just thinking about it gives her a headache.]

I should be older and a professor, huh? Wow. [She shakes her head.] You know about alternate realities, right?

[Kramm doesn't recognize the woman (or any of the locations she's mentioning, although he has heard mention of 'Earth' from others in the fllet), but he does recognize the background. His own feed shows him in motion as she makes his way about the ship trying to find her.]

Hail and well met, Jean! I am Kramm, and I believe we're shipmates ... [He stops at a likely door and knocks,] I'm afraid I can't offer any advice on getting out of here, or where 'here' is precisely, but if there's anything I can do to help make your stay easier, you just let me know, yeah?

Being as boring as possible may be good start, though with a story that starts like that you may find that somewhat difficult.

[ Sara waves half heartedly into the video feed ]

Hey. You're not going to have a lot of luck with answers, but I think someone else said something about X-Men, so maybe some of your team is here. And for what it's worth I've never heard of anywhere called Klyntar. Not that space is my specialty.

[Jean Grey. Now that was a name he had not heard for awhile.

And it was a lovely surprise. Back in the last place he was trapped, Luceti, he and the Jean from his world got to be rather good friends, despite him having worked for Magneto. And this Jean was certainly starting things off how he would expect her to; getting right to the point and trying to find an answer.

A real shame then Remy is without his voice right now thanks to an augment glitch...

Thus why she is getting a video back with him holding up pieces of paper with writing on them.]

Hey Jean, I'm Remy LeBeau, it's nice to meet you. [He hoped it wasn't like back home, that he was 'the enemy' to the X-Men. Only one way to find out.]

( Jean makes a noise that can only be described as a snort and tosses her head a little. Alternate realities. Alternate realities are her life, these days, and it's all she can do to keep from laughing out loud at Kitty's very-serious question. )

Boy, do I. I'm from one. The future version of Hank decided things weren't so rosy so he brought me, Scott, Hank, Warren and Bobby from the past to his future to fix things. I've basically been a time refugee since he had that stroke of brilliance.

( Jean cocks her head a bit. )

( It seems Kramm is pretty good at finding doors, considering he's found Jean's, and she tugs it open to continue the conversation in person. As much as she's learned how to use radio and video (and telepathy, of course), she likes a good face-to-face. )

Oh, hi! Nah, I'm just getting here, really, so I wouldn't even know what to ask for. Luckily before I got roped into this, I was in space, so I've gotten real used to what it's like.

How long have you been here, Kramm?

( Jean sighs and it definitely errs on this side of dramatic. Naturally. Her life is never boring. )

My life hasn't been boring since I was eleven. Believe me, I've tried to blend. It just doesn't work out that way.

( Well, there was good news and bad news - the good, hey! Mutants were here! Probably mutants who didn't want to kill her. Bad news? Nobody knew what she was talking about. Jean thought she could handle that combination. )

I guess it could be worse and you'd wonder why in the heck a telepath wound up in the middle of space. If the X-Men are here, or some of them, at least they'll know what to do with me.

( Jean waves back to the woman on the screen. )

Also, hi! I'm Jean.

( One advantage of being time-displaced was that Jean had heard of a lot of people she'd never met. Remy LeBeau is one of those people and while she's never actually met him herself, she's heard good things, and she's happy to see him. When she sees him holding up the paper with what he wants to say, she taps her head. )

Telepath, remember? I could probably just try to do a mind link. I haven't attempted one since I got into the Fleet and I don't know if there's any kind of power dampener but it's worth a shot?

[She listens, taking that in and trying to make some sense of it before nodding slowly. The players and the positions they play are very different between their homes but over time she's learned more about various other worlds. What they have in common and what they don't.

How to describe her world though... If only they were numbered or something. ~~hah!~~]

The one that was never supposed to exist. [An accident and disaster of a world that collapsed in upon itself until a version of the person she's looking at now becomes Apocalypse in a desperate and futile attempt to save what little is left of it. She'd never say she's glad she was meant to die there, but she is glad she never saw it happen. Kurt's the one who has all those memories.] A time traveler created it at least according to the one called Bishop.

Sara. And I've learned not to question some things. Here's hoping you're a good telepath, though. I've dealt with some doozies in my day.

As it is for many of us, which is likely why we were selected in the first place.

Thought it was only polite to start this way than mentally shouting at you. [Though he put the paper down after this, sitting back instead and giving this a go.]

[Oh hey, cool! He tucks his device back in a leather pouch on his belt.]

I've only been her a few months. It's fine, but I've been a little restless lately; I'm generally used to a little more, ah ... action.

( One that isn't supposed to exist. Jean thinks that can apply to an awful lot of versions of the world but she guesses this one isn't one she's too familiar with. She's sure the other her, the older her, the one people actually think is her, knows about this one. )

You know us time travellers. We can't keep our meddling to ourselves. How long have you been stuck here, though?

Hey, I try to be a good telepath. I can manage not to eavesdrop unless someone is just screaming and usually, by that point, they want someone to hear them.

How many bad telepaths have you met?

The show must go on, something like that?

Loud and clear. Much easier to do it this way than to deal with writing things down. So. Which version of me do you know? Taller, hotter and more dramatic?

Does the giant gorilla count?

[She has a few things to say about time travel disturbances, but nothing that a fresh-faced Jean needs blame over. She didn't even choose to cross time. Sounds like there's another McCoy making bad choices. Hers still wins for worst though.]

Over two years now. And this actually my second... [Waves hand around.] one of these places.

You're not on the Marsiva, are you? [The backdrop isn't right. It's one of the other ships.]

Beer? I don't even think I'm allowed to drink yet in most jurisdictions. Besides, drunk telepaths are never a good idea.

( Jean flashes him a grin. )

Action? Me too. Is it usually boring around here?
